Sunnie, any date is a good date, especially when it is free!!! DH liked it and lots of people around us were lauging so it really was just not my cup of tea. But I loved the company.

There are a lot of times my daughter, son in law, or friends from work, like a movie and it just is ok to me. I am glad you enjoyed the company.:goodvibes:banana:

Looks like I'll make my goal of less than $1000 on my Visa this month... 19 days left in the cycle and I've just now hit $300 and have a $35 item to return. :)
Keep up the good work!

Thanks!! For a few minutes we were ready to tack on another night to our stay - and then we went "whoa, what are we doing - why not pocket the savings and put it towards our food, souvenier and MNSSHP budget - we were just about lured by the magic, but managed to hang on..:lmao:
Yeah, that Koolaid tastes magical! :rotfl:

(I already blew today by stopping at Tim Horton's for a coffee but I hadn't had one in weeks.)
Did you win? (that would offset something, right? :lmao: )

It is my Easter basket present for myself.:rolleyes1)
Happy Easter! ;)

Another no-buy day and I'm down 5 pounds in two weeks. This hitting the gym instead of shopping, combined with better eating, is paying off!
You GO, girl!

March 4: $0, was going to buy fruit at work last night, but someone bought it for me!!:goodvibes She said, well, I can afford it. I notice you haven't been spending any money lately. I explained about no-buy, then she wanted me to have a no-buy day!:goodvibes

Thanks. I hate phone interviews especially because I do so much better when I am actually with the person but I think it went well.

Good luck on your interview. It is good you got an interview so quickly. The broadway show sounds good.

Good luck Charming and Virgderon on your interviews.

I'm just happy to have 2 no buy days in a row. It's a whole new way of life to think about what I'm going to go spend and decide if it's worth it or not.

Everyone seems to be right on track so far. Good job everyone!

Here we go:
Mar 1: 56.07 Birthday gifts for DBIL and DN, $12.20 for Amazon peanut butter (seemed like a good deal)
Mar 2: Not starting out very well! have to get past these birthdays...$98.34 groceries (bday dinner for 13, dog food, beer..etc), $46.00 DH gas (some will be reimbursed..he has to go to a town 90 miles away for a continuing ed class)
Mar 3: $2.42 for movie rental and a coffee, $9.00 dinner out with friend
Mar 4: DH got $23 reimbursement for the gas, so Plus that..then minus $10 to the church rummage sale (cool pedal car for DGD and really neat vintage desk for DGS), $9.48 Dollar Tree

$589.49/$800.00 remaining

I've never done this before, but I am looking forward to seeing how many no buy days I can manage! So far...

3/1 - $0
3/2 - $80 (gift for very close friend & gas)
3/3 - $0 so far today (drank water at work with lunch I brought from home, instead of buying diet coke from machine.)

3/3 - ended up buying some groceries - $40
3/4 - $0

2 out of 4 - no buy days, so far. This is really helping me keep on track. Usually, while my daughter is at dance, I will run around "shopping", but yesterday I spent that time at home and didn't buy a thing!

I have been lurking the last couple of months trying to figure out how this all works, in addition to trying to go the Dave Ramsey Envelope system...getting better with this but I need more help and accountability.

We are planning a "once in a lifetime" trip to WDW, DC, and USO during Christmas next year (already paid in full for BWV rental so 1/5 of my trip is paid for)...planning on booking USO/DC next month so I want a good down payment on this package. I am hoping that if I get on the no spend bandwagon that I can pocket all my extra $$ at the end of the month and put towards airfare which is scaring me at the moment.

Here's my plan:
1. I WILL PAY CASH ONLY FROM MY ENVELOPES...Gas and Household/Misc
Envelopes /Budget GAS $200
HOUSEHOLD $400

2. I will only track PoS transactions-usually, groceries and gas, although this month there is spring break (may need to travel to CO to see my mother who recently had knee surgery, dh wants to go skiing, and we always have a fun couple of outings).
3. Bills paid regularly, including all charity, not included, nor all items that are budgeted for are not part of this.
4. Whatever money DH spends, not counting because we do separate accounts and monthly bills (I had my ID stolen to the tune of $60K and things are still a mess)
4. I would like to aim for 15 No Buy days.

March 1-No Spend :) 1/15 days
March 2-No Spend :) 2/15 days
March 3-Sonic Happy Hour Stop $3
Little Caesar Pizza Dinner Treat for boys ($7)
March 4-$10 gift card donation for teacher at school having surgery
$56 Walmart Stop (groceries bday present for son's friend)

Budget Tally as of 3/4
Gas-$0 spent...........................$200 remaining
Household- $76 spent................$324 remaining

I have been lurking the last couple of months trying to figure out how this all works, in addition to trying to go the Dave Ramsey Envelope system...getting better with this but I need more help and accountability.

Welcome aboard! I'm working on the envelope system too. This is my first month of doing the no-buy thing, but it has helped so much already! Good luck!:thumbsup2

No buy goal: 7 / 7 accomplished!

Hi everyone! I posted on the 2nd, but somehow my post got lost in cyberspace:headache: & I haven't jumped back onboard until today.

Tiggerish, glad your surgery went well!

Virgderon, so sorry to hear about your past employer- hope it all gets sorted out quickly!

Hope the interviews went well Charming & Virgderon! They are nerve wracking!

I enjoyed reading the Dr. Suess posts. Our school has the week dedicated to Dr. Suess every year. Each day the kids have a different dress up day- Mon is crazy hair day, Tues pajama day, etc. They are encouraged to bring any Dr. Suess books from home, and they read them at school, watch a few of the movies and do some activities with them. On Friday the teachers put on a play of "Horton Hears a Who", the principle played the part of Horton. The kids think it's hillarious to see their teachers performing onstage. MickeyMomofThree, I love that you still make the kids green eggs & ham, I think I'll do that for lunch today:), and read the book as we are staying home all day.

Good luck Charming and Virgderon on your interviews.

Have fun at Mardi Gras, Where'sPiglet

Oh, my! h3oophelia! I took DD to Wicked in the fall, and all she wanted to do was live in the theatre for the rest of its run. Fabulous, and I'm sure your daughter will think so, too!
I'm in for the month! This should be a good month. No birthdays, baby showers, weddings, ect! I am hopeful that we will be spending a bit extra on moving, but we'll see if our current house rents soon. We did move back our move date to May 1st, so we have a bit more time.

Always the way, 3goofyboys....just when you think you have it in hand....MORE to buy.

Feel better today, Sunnie!

:welcome: to the new people. The great thing about this thread, is that you set up (and adjust, if necessary) your own goals.

I'll be back to catch up my expenses later. Mom was readmitted to the hospital last night, and I''m off to see how her night was. Back soon!
