March No Buy..Rolling Into Spring!

Virgderon, that was quick work on finding a new job. Hope it is a good one.:cheer2:

QVCshopper- why people cannot do the RSVP thing is just beyond me. I actually had some one tell me that RSVP on an invitation was just a fancy decorative thing and did not mean anything.:confused3 When I explained what it was, she said, that it could not mean she were suppose to say if she were attending because she would not know until was time to go whether or not she would feel like coming or if they would just skip it and how she thought it was "incredibly inconsiderate" for me to ask for an answer in advance.

IMALOVNDISNEY-sorry about the basement. Just because you have experience does not mean you want to repeat that experience.:sad2:

Virgderon, congratulations on the new job! You must be thrilled!

QVCshopper, no kidding on RSVPs! Drives me crazy! (That being said, I was the mom who misplaced an invitation until a day after the RSVP date a couple of weeks ago. Oops.)

IMALOVNDISNEY, what a terrible way to start the week. Glad it wasn't a huge problem.

3/1: :cool1:
3/2: $26 groceries
3/3: :cool1:
3/4: $35 after school care, $540 brakes (ouch!), $12 dinner, $16 skate night
3/5: $13 Christmas Tree Shop (candy for basket raffle, cupcake liners, and replacement garden clogs), $23 Yankee Candle (candle!), $24 Michael's (gifts for parties the boys are invited to), $51 gas and $16 Walmart (groceries and a dry cleaning kit I have a rebate for)
3/6: $35 dinner out to celebrate DS8 scoring two goals in his indoor soccer game today (he's not terribly athletic, so this is huge!) and the end of indoor soccer season (DS5 played too, but he's very athletic and usually outscored the other team.) as well as $49 on groceries. A little more bragging here: I saved $30 on that grocery bill between sales and coupons AND walked out with coupons for a free box of frozen fish and a free gallon of milk. I'm pretty proud of myself!

March 1-$0 :yay:
March 2- Met my wonderful hubby for lunch. He needed a break, and we had a $5 off coupon. My lunch was only $7, so we figured $2 for me to eat and I brought home enough for us both to have lunch tomorrow. Then I spent $4 on new gloves (8 pairs) for the kids, they seem to lose them like crazy. :confused3 Hubby and I went to a prescreening of a movie tonight, it was awful, but he liked it. It was called Cedar Rapids. We didn't buy anything there. I did buy groceries as well. Will record those tomorrow cause I need to dig out the receipt. I got a call while we were at the movies that I don't have to work tomorrow after all. So happy about that, have lots to do in the morning tomorrow.
March 3-$0 :yay: Have a busy evening ahead, but made dinner in the crockpot this morning so we are good there. My DD9 has a field trip with Brownies to Bruster's ice cream, but if I report a no spend day I won't get an ice cream. And that will be good for my wallet and waistline. :thumbsup2
March 4- DH told the kids we'd go out to dinner. :headache: It was kids eat free, but still was $23 with tip. I also had to go get DD16 tights for Model UN and some meds, $20ish
March 5-$0 :yay: Went to the gym with DH, he is allowed to bring a guest for free. Then spent the day massively cleaning, more to be done but made a big dent.
March 6-$6 dinner for the kids, $15 dinner with hubby (B1G1coupon) and $24 bowling. Starting the week on a good note...priceless!!! :goodvibes
March 7-$0 :yay: Can't catch up now, DD11 has a "surprise" band concert tonight. They said it was a possiblity in September but never mentioned it again and I forgot. Apparently a note came home back when I saw sick but it is MIA. My DD forgot about it too, she said the band teacher never said a word till today. So I have been scrambling to get her clothes together. We are headed out in a few, will catch up tonight. Hope all is well...

No kidding! We have a new principal this year, and at Christmas we forgot to tell her how wild the kids are. They are stressed about being at home (in our school we are the stability for them). At least it isn't a full moon, too!

Same here. It's so sad when you here a 6 y.o. saying he wishes his mom would leave them at day care and not pick them up until midnight. :sad2:

03/07$160.00 Woke up to a flooded basement this morning.:scared1: By 6:30 AM my DH was at Home Depot buying a sump pump and things that go with it. Luckly I don't think there is a lot of loss. Our old house used to flood every year. We learned from that. We have a small fortune invested in totes and very few things are actually on the floor. Although we did loose a stockpile of T. Paper, paper towels, and 4 bags of dog food so far. DH was able to take the day off from work to get rid of the water and start the cleaning.

Talk about bad news when you wake up! Hope this gets fixed soon. Glad at elast you did not lose much.

Today I got a job !!!!! Yay for me. It starts April 4th, so I am going to try to go to Chicago before then and get my house ready to sell.

Woohoo!! Congrats on the new job! It's nice too that you have some time off before you start to settle things with your house.

I took my sister out to lunch and finished twisting her arm to let me take her two children (ages 14 and 21) to WDW in August. So the trip is on!!:cool1: I have been working on her and my BIL since before Christmas to agree to this trip. I upped the offer to include both of the parents and kept talking about how oldest niece is going to graduate from college in Dec and who knows when she would get to do a family vacation after that 'cause she will be entering the working world (in others words, doing the guilt thing) and it finally paid off.

Yay! Good job on finally convincing your sister to let you bring her kids to Disney! I hope you all have a nice trip. :goodvibes

I'm in for the month! This should be a good month. No birthdays, baby showers, weddings, ect! I am hopeful that we will be spending a bit extra on moving, but we'll see if our current house rents soon. We did move back our move date to May 1st, so we have a bit more time.

I'm going for 14 no buys this month.

March 1 :cheer2:

March 2 $31 groceries, $40 gas

March 3 $20 groceries (why is there always one more thing to pick up?)

March 4 :cheer2:

March 5 :cheer2:

March 6 $273 groceries- that will hopefully keep us in food for the next 2 weeks and it includes a baby shower gift (apparently I spoke too soon when I said we didn't have any this month) and dollar bills to play a shower game.

March 7 :cheer2: PLUS, I actually won all my dollar bills back plus $36 at the shower last night. That was enough to cover my baby shower gift. Hooray!! I did pay tuition for my guys today, but that comes out of a separate account, so I'm not counting that.

4/14 No Buys

IMALOVNDISNEY, sorry about the basement. Ours floods too and yet I always let my guard down and lose things. :headache: Nothing major, just like you TP and stuff but I get so annoyed with myself when it happens. Glad nothing too important was lost. What a headache though. Uggg, and it's always on Mondays.

Virgderon, great news about the job!!! Enjoy the little break to see your family in Chicago and good luck with selling the house. :cool1:

QVC- RSVPs, don't get me started!!!

Tiggerish, will you adopt my kids as your nieces? ;) You sound like a great aunt!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info! Now, if someone could just convince me I haven't lost my mind! :) We're thinking of a full fledged WDW trip for summer of 2012, so I'm afraid a Feb. trip might throw a kink into the budget, so I've got to think that through too. On the other hand, it just might be our excuse for APs!

I think that is a GREAT reason to get APs!!

Yes, it is 16 minute mile. We got down to 13.5/14 min. mile in training, so the 16 in the half wasn't too bad. And we knew exactly when we had to be in the MK to miss the sweepers. We didn't even stop to talk to our cheerleaders at the Contemporary and I had to go to the bathroom soooo bad, but DSis wouldn't let me. :lmao:
No kidding! We have a new principal this year, and at Christmas we forgot to tell her how wild the kids are. They are stressed about being at home (in our school we are the stability for them). At least it isn't a full moon, too!

I almost peed my pants during a race once! The things we do to ourselves!

This month has three birthdays, one of which is my son's fifth birthday party. Why don't people RSVP?
Did you send out regular invites or evite? I've found I get a much better response with evite because RSVP just takes a click.

This month has three birthdays, one of which is my son's fifth birthday party. Why don't people RSVP?
The bane of a mother planning a party. I was glad when my kids decided a sleepover with a couple of best friends was enough.
