March break- Am I crazy

My Ap is whispering to me all the time

I am thinking March 11th to 18th. I have never been able to go at this time because of Hockey but my oldest(the hockey player) does not want to go (She will stay with best friend and co hockey player)

I have tickets left over, we will drive, only need one room now- so huge savings, and well I just want to go. But I don't want to go if crowds are unbearable. We would take full advantage of the extra late hours now.

Opinions please!

Never mind that! I've got this week in Cuba at the end of February and all I can think of ~ It could have been another week at Disney using our AP's!LOL

We have driven down the last several March Breaks and while it is busy, and it might be even busier this March Break because crowds are up, it is sooooo nice to escape the last dregs of winter. I love watching Spring arrive as you drive south, too.

Just take advantage of the EMHs, be flexible, visit the outlet malls and you will have a great time!

That's so funny! We have the same problem. My AP is whispering to me all the time too. We're driving down too, leaving Friday right from School (we're both teachers with a ds3) and going overnight right down to AKL!!! I can't wait. I know the crowds are going to be nutty but I just don't care. All my son wants to do is Buzz Lightyear at MK and swim in the pool. CAN'T WAIT!! Disneyworld, take me away!

I totally agree! And really, the passes are already paid for, you're saving huge amounts of $$$ by only needing one room ... it's like Disney is paying YOU to come! Go ... Go ... Go !!!! I actually like to get 3 trips out of our AP's, although it's not going to happen next year (there, I've put it in writing )

Have a fabulous time. And think of it this way, it might be busy, so you'll just have to decide your priorities in what you want to see. Think of all those poor people who are there for their one and only trip and have to try and see it all!

I'm sure that your DH has already figured out that you're not just thinking out loud ! Heck, next you'll have him thinking that it was his idea ... which is always a good thing

Aw Sherry you know you won't be able to resist that whisper! Heck I hear that whisper all the time and I don't even have an AP!!!! With the Cdn$ doing so well, now is the perfect time to book that 1 room you need! Crowds or no crowds, if there was any way I could go for March break I'd be there in a nanosecond!

I knew the great people on these boards would talk me into it.

I booked a studio at SSR(renting points) and we are on the waitlist for BCV(kids love that pool). DH just rolls his eyes but I know he loves it as much as I do.

Baboo- so nice to hear from you. Keep in touch so we can set up another meet.

Disneydvclover- I usually avoid it also but this is my only chance this year. We plan on taking full advantage of the 3 hours extra at night.

Maryliz- I love the way you think.

tinkerbeth- we plan on the exact same stratedgy. You will love AKL. Have fun.

TimandDansmom- so glad you replied because when I first thought about March break I thought of you. Glad to hear you don't actually mind that time of year.

Sherry, you never know what curve balls (or in your house, hockey sticks) are going to be thrown at you next. If you have the opportunity to do this trip, DO IT.

My parents go away to Mexico/Caribbean 2 or 3 times per year. They ALWAYS go away during the beginning of Sept. for my dads birthday. This was the first Sept. they weren't able to due to his illness.

Not to put a damper on this post, I'm just saying, if you have the opportunity to do it, DO IT since you never know what the future will hold.

That being said, it will be busy, but YOU know the parks so I'm sure with some planning you will be able to see and do a lot more then most.

I know you mentioned driving but with limited time, have you considered Southwest? I know you have flown with them in the past and were able to get AMAZING prices. I know over March break you probably couldn't get $59 each flight segment but you seem so knowledgeable about getting great deals, I'm sure you get find the best available price.

Hockey MOM congrats on the trip but our house would skip it rather than go at that time of year I am sure you will have a great time. We never deviate from our chosen time early Dec but this year we had to may things going on to go so we are siping it this time around.

Mom_rules we are also from the 11th to the 20th. I really hope the wait list for BCV comes through beacause the kids love that pool. Isn't part of your vacation a cruise?

Yes, you're correct. We spend 11-13 at BC-then cruise-and back to BC 17-19-got great flight times. Arrive early on the 11th and leave evening of the 19th.
Debating about buying PAP's or just hopper pluses now.
