March 9, 2012 "Dream a Little Dream Team" 4 Night Cruise

We are coming down to the last couple months before we set sail I am super excited. As I mentioned before this is my first cruise but I am more than happy to do my best at organizing the FE's! So far here is our list of people that want to participate:

Terimac – DW DH DS7 DD5. Interested in FE

Lhdive1- 2 sets of Grandparents, 2 sets of parents, 2 - 9 year olds and 5 year old triplets. Interested in FE

What would you all like to do as a price range? We will also need room #'s

So by my count it's 27 if we are doing individual (16 adult/11kids)?(Lhdive1 was a little confusing, but I think I've got it?!!)

What price range do other FE groups stay with? I have one idea so far, not sure exactly what I'm going to do yet. I did see something that would work for an extender, I'd have to modify it a bit and "Disney-fy" it!! It would be easier than making one from scratch!

I have a question for Lhdive1:
You have listed what looks like your entire traveling party, which will be multiple (4?) cabins of people. Will each cabin in your party be participating in the FE, or will it just be your cabin?

I'm trying to organize my gifts and am trying to get a more accurate idea of numbers.

So are we doing gifts for each person or for each room? My only thought is if it's each person that could get costly. I personally would rather do a gift for each stateroom. By again only my opinion.

This will be the first cruise for us - DW, DH, DS12, and DS10 - and we are soooo excited!!! I wasn't sure what a Fish Extender was so I googled it and it looks like a lot of fun. We would love to join if it's not too late.

Trying to get FE ideas, everything I think of is too big to fit into the extender!

I met up with an old friend who is working the cash there and she asked what I was looking for. So I told her of our upcoming WDW trip and cruise.

Well wasn't I surprised.....they're on the same cruise!!! What are the chances of that happening? LOL! Something tells me if we hadn't met today, we might have missed eachother on that huge ship!

I'm hoping some 15-17 year old girls are going to be on this cruise! So far it's looking like mostly 3-10 year old boys!!

Hi all! Unfortunately, work has suddenly ramped up in a big way, so I'm going to have to bow out of the FE list - just way too many other projects and wonderful family member who is temporarily moving in with us (very exciting and wonderful, but time-consuming). Still very excited about the cruise overall, and hope to peek and see all the awesome things you do for each other!!! But we'll have to say no to FEs for this trip.

Yeah, I had planned on one gift for each room. Hoping more people clarify details for us soon

Do you think a deadline of participation for February 9, 2012 is good? that gives everyone a month to get their gifts together.

Yay for a deadline! I have tried to post 2 other times, but it didn't go through (third times a charm?)

There have been questions and uncertainties about the FE, so here are my suggestions for the parameters:

1. Deadline to confirm your participation is February 9. If you haven't confirmed since December 25 (payment deadline), then you must confirm again so that we know that you are still on this cruise and that you are still participating in the FE. (Some of you have been quiet for several months...speak up so that we know you are still here! )

2. Whether you are giving gifts for each person or just one per room, it is entirely up to you.

3. How much spent also depends on what you are comfortable with. Some will be able to spend more than others. Some will be handmaking their gifts, and it is hard to put a pricetag on those. Overall, FE's are mostly about adding a little more magic to our vacations, and that is priceless.

And since this group is very small so far, I'd like to suggest that even if you are planning "one gift per cabin" that you still you remember the kiddos in the cabin, as the FE is such a big part of their "magical" experience and a small treat bag with some candy, tattoos, stickers, etc. goes a long way in providing giggles and smiles all around.
My kids would race down the hall to the FE to see what goodies the "magic fairy" left for them each day. What was even more exciting was for my kids to help me pick out and put together the gifts for the other kids in our FE group, then to meet these same kids at the port or on the ship, and finally, to "sneak" down the hall to deliver these gifts. It is a really fun experience! I can't wait to do this again with all of you!
