Hi all. Crazy high flight prices are the main reason we have decided to postpone our cruise for a tbd date. The best SW flight for us out of Denver to FLL was sold out the same day the schedule was released, leaving us with a combo of inconvenient times and high prices. We didn't have much flexibility on arrival and departure dates, so we were stuck.

Hope you all have a great cruise!

So sorry to hear this, but I understand. Hope you find a better date with reasonable flights!

I'm so excited! :cool1:

I posted earlier in the thread about my kids' school district pushing spring break back two weeks after I'd already booked this cruise. Since our reservation is nonrefundable (nor can it be modified), we have to pull our kids out for that week. :headache:

I emailed the principal today to see about getting their absence excused. He not only apologized for the district screwing up the dates, he had his attendance clerk note the absence will be principal approved, AND he's going to message all their teachers to get the assignments they'll miss in advance. Oh, and he told us to have a wonderful trip. :)

What a relief!

Booked flights today. We are going to fly to Orlando and drive down to Miami. All of the direct flights to Ft. Lauderdale were 400+, non-direct would take us 7 hours total ( no thank you). So flights were 303 to Orlando. I hope this is a good price. Anyone else book yet?

Yup...we are flying into Orlando too. Flights to FLL were insane!! Now going to add 4 nights on the end and do WDW. Lol...saved money on flights but will now spend lots more for WDW part! Somehow that seems ok though. ;)

I was just reviewing the roster and happy to see that we have eleven cabins participating in the fe. It made me wonder who was driving (we've been discussing flying a lot) and where people are staying the night before the cruise. We were able to meet four other DISers for dinner the evening before our cruise, which was really nice for everyone.
Anyone booked hotels or interested in meeting the night before?
Anne :)

Pulled the trigger on flights this weekend. The prices you all were seeing were starting to scare me, so I figured it was time to book before things got crazy. I was able to get DTW (Detroit) to FLL for $300 each basically. This was slightly down from a couple weeks ago.

We are coming in the night before and staying overnight somewhere... just not sure where yet! :woohoo:

Hi all. We just booked this cruise as Disney canceled our Jan 19, 2014 cruise. This will be our first Disney cruise. It'll be just my DS12 and myself.

My friend Pam will also we traveling on this cruise. Say hi Pam. ;)

Looking very forward to it and still trying to shake the shock off of our original cruise being canceled. :goodvibes

I am too seeing crazy HIGH flights from SLC to Miami/Fort Lauderdale. :scared:

We'll also be flying in the day before and are interested in participating in an FE. :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard!

I am sooooo sorry about your cruise being cancelled. Two years ago they chartered our Med cruise to a private company, cancelling the sailing we'd had booked for 1.5 years. They weren't terribly flexible or helpful when it came to rebooking options either. So, I know you're frustration. But, I'm happy you were able to rebook to our cruise. :)

If you'd like to be added to our roster, the information is in the OP. Just post your details and I'll get you added. Totally optional, of course.

I searched for a meet thread for the 3/30/14 Wonder cruise--but didn't find one, so let's do this! :cool1:

I'll start:

Sailing will be me, DH, DS & DD (14 and 11 at cruise time). Also joining us: my DM and two close friends. By the way, I'm Ivy. We live in South Carolina. (The other couple sailing with us lives in Texas.)

Anyone else booked on, booking, or thinking about booking this cruise?

::yes:: We'd like to participate in an FE

Ok, flights are booked from Indianapolis to Orlando. We are flying in Thursday night. I had originally thought we would spend a couple days exploring Miami, we have never been. After reading some reviews about Miami, I am second guessing that thought. We are traveling with 4 kids ages 15-1. We also have our friends and their 2 children. So, would you stay somewhere else? Maybe in Orlando? We would have to drive down Saturday night to Miami. We are also staying Thursday night in Orlando since our flight doesn't land until 9:30 pm. I am also thinking about parking our rental car at Port of Miami parking. It is only $4.50 per day. Any help or suggestions would be great. :)

I am kind of a scaredy cat, and I want to be somewhere safe ,and have a good time with the kids.:yay:

Hi everybody :wave2: just read everything and this sounds like a really friendly group :)

I'm the Pam Jenny mentioned a few days ago. Our January cruise was cancelled last week which was quite a shock. I wasn't celebrating anything that cruise, booked it because I cruised January of this year and it was nice to escape winter. This cruise however is two days after my birthday so I'll be celebrating my birthday :)

This will be my 4th cruise, all DCL. Absolutely love DCL and CC. I've been on the Dream, Wonder, and Fantasy in that order. Love them all, but really enjoyed the intimacy of the Wonder compared to the bigger ships.

I'm flying in the night before but won't get in until 10:00. The earlier flight that would have worked was sold out. As of right now I'm planning to drive up to WDW post cruise.

Thinking of doing a manatee or sea lion swim at Chankanaab but need to think a little more about it.

Oh my goodness, how terrible! Did you book another Med cruise?

Where did you get the parking cost?. The info I got from the port of miami website is $20 per day.

I'm thinking about doing the Everglades with my family. I enjoyed a brief visit there 10 years ago, and they have a neat Jr ranger program your kids might enjoy. Also check out the Miami Childrens Museum and Miami Zoo. Haven't been there myself but look like good family options. If you are flying into Orlando (and don't want to do WDW), your kids would probably enjoy a day trip to the Kennedy Space Center. Then head down to Miami

Yes. But DCL gave us very limited rebooking options. Had to be another 7-night Med cruise sailing that summer (we couldn't switch to a longer cruise and pay the difference, etc.), so it wasn't easy finding another date. Luckily we had the flexibility to make the change. Ended up making lifelong friends on our rebooked cruise, so it all worked out.

Wow, what a pain. I'm surprised they wouldn't let you change to a longer one, I've never known Disney to turn down money  glad everything worked out in the end :)

 Hi Pam.

Has anyone or is anyone doing the water cave excursion. I made the mistake of describing it to DS and he loves the idea for our Cozumel day. I think it looks terrifying.
