EW, EW, EW!!!!!!(think Horshak from Welcome back, Kotter here!) :yay: :yay:
My DMom is 74(75 in January), maybe we can match DUncle and my Mom up!!!!!!! It can be just like the Love Boat!!!!!!

Good luck with all the moving! Little more stress than I want!!

Welcome Mama Snarks - we've got a great group here. Congrats on your new family addition!! Did I miss anyone??? I think I welcomed everyone before now but I am losing my mind. And who's now coming down earlier than planned?? Again - losing mind...we're staying at the new Residence Inn on my Marriott points (I plan a lot of events) and arriving on Thursday too. We've stayed at the Radisson and liked it, but since the RI will be free, we couldn't pass that up. Especially now...

As Mark said, we have a lot going on, and might not be on the boards that much over the next few weeks. I like the Mantra suggested by MichaelsMom and may start chanting it non-stop until September 1!! :goodvibes

And Mark forgot to mention that we did all this two days after I had my gallbladder removed. It was a pretty easy surgery and recovery for me, but Mark is doing most of the heavy lifting - literally. For as much #*#$@ as I give him on this board, he deserves a lot of credit for the last week of nursing me, organizing the house purchase, packing, shed destruction, parenting, etc.

That said, you still don't want to see him personify his pirate name! pirate:

Name for our group: I got nothin. :sad2: Will keep thinking...

We are coming down early, but DH wanted to stay at WDW, so we just booked CBR for the Wed - Sat.

Good luck with the mantra

Just thought I'd pop in to see if there was anything new - trying to avoid working right now and looking forward to the weekend :surfweb:

We're now thinking of driving down - mapquest says it is about 19 hours - maybe do it over 2.5 days - anyway know what it costs to park at the port for the duration of the cruise?

I still haven't come up with any names...

Well, I better go do some work so I don't have to on the weekend :wave2:

19 hours seems a bit low, It should be closer to 24 hours of straight drive time, so it would be 2.5 days of LONG DRIVING. Plus with gas prices so high, it might be cheaper to fly.

Not a name, but how about"Cruising into Spring"

Why, just put it off until Monday or Tuesday :thumbsup2

I guess we have some time to decide - we've never done the drive before, so if it absolutely awful, at least we'd be able to check that off the "things done in life" list and then never do it again :rotfl:

Sure - sounds good to me :thumbsup2

The problem is that I am teaching a 2-day workshop Monday & Wednesday next week, so I can't really put it off any longer  Oh well, I pretty much finished off last night - today just photocopy my packages and drop them off - ;)

well that didn't work out the way I planned :confused3 Guess I forgot the put the quote codes before the quotes too!! :rotfl2:

Time for another bump as we seem to have moved down to Page 3 again.

I hope everyone has noticed ChrisnSteph's new tag. :rotfl2: Caropooh & I liked it.

Story family checking in here.

We are two days from pulling off the near-impossible, buying another house and moving four people and all of our belongings in 13 days. Two more days to go. We have been up before dawn about every day, tending to details or packing (or just having panic attacks), but it's looking like we're actually going to pull this thing off.

Move day is Friday - 48 hours from now. We have it all timed out: movers show up at 8:00, drop DD off at daycare at 8:20, drop DS off at bus stop at 8:40, do settlement at 9:00, meet movers at new house at 11:00.

If we all survive this (and if the Verizon people show up to hook up our Internet) we should be back on the boards soon.

Oh...and isn't there some sort of cruise coming up in the Spring?

Mark

hi all,
Sorry haven't been around for awhile. Baby still "intact/inside"...but boy do I ever want him OUT! It's been so uncomfortable. soon soon....my workplace was purchased by a huge company and we have officially moved over to their office as of Monday, Aug. 28th which means I'm only here for 2 weeks, if I can make it that long. Kinda unfortunate timing, but on well.

We tried to book our flights to Orlando over the weekend but there were absoluately NO airmile flights. That really worries us since we probably will not go if there aren't any flights. We phoned the airline that we want to fly with and they said that the airmiles seats might not be posted yet. For our March 2006 cruise we booked in late October, so maybe it's too early...keep your fingers crossed for us. To pay for full fee flights will be too expensive for the 4 of us plus my inlaws, unless DH gets a HUMUGO bonus at xmas...even that would not help since I'm going on mat. leave in a few weeks. That's the update with us.

Hi Qball,
Don't know for sure what airline you are looking at...but southwest usually has pretty decent airfare. (Sure you have been checking them all)

That would be a shame if you couldn't go in march.. I too have been keeping an eye out for airfare, looks like we could fly southwest n/s for $99.00 one-way, out of Denver, SW only has booking opened to the 1st part of Jan. right now. Been watching for a deal on Frontier though....DD's enjoy the t.v. and it makes the trip seem a whole lot quicker!!!! Good Luck w/ finding a flight!!!!!

Snarks family checking back in....

Been crazy busy. Not 'moving everything we own in 72 hours' busy... but busy.

We're still excited, still flying down early, still not sure where we're staying.....

But checking in.

Yaknow... Qball... If you adopt a 2.5 year old, you can avoid that whole thing :)

The Knoerzer's just checking in!

Just booked the Ron Jon for the week prior to sailing on RCI points. We won't be arriving until Friday AM.
Waiting for the DING fares to appear for March from Southwest :thumbsup2

If anyone would like to stay from Sat.-Thurs. let me know!

I Feel for the Story's, we did a move and a new baby and my DH had to do it all! (Not all in one day though!) we only moved down the street!! :lmao:
The DH mantra "I will never move WITH YOU again

I have no memory of 2003, last years cruise was a celebration of my survival. (Hospital mistake!) I was an RN but can no longer return.

Hence, my DIS board addiction (more time on the computer now!!)

Andie and family

Even though I've been in/out a bit, thought I'd check in too! Finished teaching my first workshop last night as a non-student to former co-students - a bit wierd, but REALLY nice to have graduated! :thumbsup2

DH and I just now finished a showdown with our DS - he has become addicted to a computer game called RollerCoaster Tycoon and it was so awful to get him away from it that he now will not have it for a week - if it happens again, I will toss the game :sad2: Good thing it was a free-in-the-cereal-box game ;)

With school starting back next week and the weather taking a huge shift up here I'm sad to see that summer is ending and fall is beginning...then I remind myself that that means we are closer to Disney...and I smile:)

Anyway - nothing else new - ttfn!

Thanks for the tip ejkmmom but where I live, there are only two airlines that fly out of here...Westjet and AirCanada. Some canadians will drive to the closest american city and fly out of there to save money on flights, but driving to North Dakota in the dead of winter (and it would be 5-7 hour drive depending on which city in ND has the airport) especially with a newborn, is not a feasible option.

Qball -sending pixie dust for the baby pixiedust: pixiedust: and for the flights pixiedust: pixiedust: - I'm sure something will work out.

We moved yesterday!!! :woohoo: Everything went swimmingly, including ourselves and the movers who trudged through the rain all day long. Thanks to Mark and friends, we had our TV's, DirectTV and TiVos working (mostly) last night so the kids weren't driving us (too) crazy while trying to unpack. While we are still looking a quite a few boxes, we made lots of progress yesterday. Hopefully we can enjoy Monday as a day off with not too much unpacking left to do. :goodvibes

Story Family,

Congratulations on the big move!!!!! I'm sure you all are both physically & mental drained

Good Luck on tackling those boxes!!!

Brenda

Congratulations on the move!
Hi, Everyone I know I haven't been on much. My husband left for Iraq yesterday and we spent the whole summer trying to spent as much time as possible as a family. This will be his last tour, when he return in mid Jan. he will start is retirement processing :)! Asking for all your prayers for his safety! I got him to apply for his passport before he left just to make sure he would have it in time for the cruise. Also for the passed year I've been working on opening a franchise restaurant and I think I finaly sign the lease for my location on tomorrow. I'll have to open the restuarant with out him :(. I hate that he has to miss it. Also, I'm a lot nervous about opening in hopefully Dec and leaving for a week in March for the cruise but I have too! I need this vacation! I'm just praying to have employee I can trust!

Okay, enough about my drama! When is the Palo brunch being planned? Also, for the pirate night do the kids also go?

Our prayers will be with your DH in Iraq - that can't be easy. :grouphug:

All the best to you on your new biz venture! So exciting for you - I can't wait to hear all about it.

Thanks to you all for the congrats on the move - we feel really good about where we are so far. We've got some furniture to buy still but we have become big huge fans of Craig's List!! Now we need to paint our Pepto-pink dining room, DS's purple room (not his favorite color) and some various shades of purple around the house (fireplace trim/mantle, bathroom, etc.) We are pretty sure the folks who lived here before were color-blind!!!

You asked about pirate night - the kids are totally involved. It's a great show, although it is a little late. That's the only problem. My kids burned out just as the party started last year. But they love getting dressed up in the pirate gear for dinner. It's a lot of fun. pirate:
