Congrats to Dianne on the :bride:

Congrats to Michael on the pirate:

Flo - and everyone else who has asked when we leave....well we left Thursday! We are at Disneyland now! :) Kind of kept it on the down low until after we were gone.

Got here Thursday and got into our room about 2 pm. We are staying at the Villas of the Grand Californian and they are wonderful! We have a woodsy park view (we overlook the adventure trail at California Adventure). If we look right we can hear and see World of color (through the trees).

Thursday night was dinner at Ariels Grotto followed by World of Color viewing. What an amazing show. Kind of like Illuminations and Fantasmic rolled into one.

Yesterday (Friday) was the day my dreams came true. Thanks to some wonderful friends we were able to have lunch at Club 33!!!!!!!! One thing I can take off my bucket list. After that we did the holiday tour which included getting to ride Haunted Mansion and Small World. In case you didn't know Disneyland does a holiday overlay of these two attractions and they are fantastic!

Candlelight Processional is at Disneyland tonight and tomorrow. They do it different than at WDW and we've been warned the park gets crazy busy. So we went to the parks this morning, now we are chilling in the room and we're having dinner at Napa Rose this evening. We head home early Tuesday morning!

Pictures to come later on Facebook.

Mary/Mark

Sounds like you are having a great time. When we were there we did not get a chance to eat at Napa but it is a beautiful looking one. Enjoy. Glad you got to go to Club 33 I know how much you wanted to go. I wish WDW would do the same with the Haunted Mansion. Enjoy the rest of the time there.

:surfweb:

It won't be long now, I might get a little lonely on the thread without all of you...I am just glad you are all having such a wonderful time, please share everything when you get back.

It is hard to put into words how I felt about Club 33. As a long time Disney fan it is one of those Holy Grail things for me. Something I've longed to do forever but never thought it would happen.

You start the day by checking in at guest services. That's because your meal includes a one day hopper into the parks.

Then at your assigned time you go to the door, open up a brass plate and press a button. You then hear from someone inside. Maybe because it was so busy when we went but instead of the intercom a girl came to the door. They call upstairs and then you take this antique lift up to the second floor where a hostess greats you and takes you to your table.

We got a very cozy table for two right next to a window. We did lunch and it works much like Palo brunch. You order your entree off of a menu but your appetizers and desserts are off buffets. I ordered the Chateaubriand and Mark had the lamb chops. They were both wonderful!

Club 33 is the only place in the park where you can order beer or wine (though we didn't get either).

There are beautiful flowers and artwork everywhere. As I said. A true dream come true.

Now off to Napa Rose for dinner!

:surfweb: Good Morning Everyone:)

It is a cold, windy, cold, cloudy....did I mention cold? I am not a cold weather person...I could do very well without winter time. The high for today...38 degrees. With the wind chill of 24 degrees. Right now it's 32 degrees with the wind chill of 19 degrees. Going to be drinking a lot of coffee and hot chocolate today.

Mary...I so happy for you....Club 33 sounds wonderful. Glad you enjoyed it. Saw your photos on Facebook...thank you for sharing. Hope you and Mark have a great time.

Have a great day everyone and take care.:flower3:

Wow Mary, it sounds like you and Mark are having a trip of a life time...I never heard of Chateubriand, what is that?

And Napa Rose, how was that?

We talked about visiting there some day. But everytime we checked flights it was just soooooooo expensive.

Have a great day!!:dance3:

Good Morning all

Monica, its 27 degress here this morning, I am leaving soon to go excerscise in the pool...can I say Burrrrrrrr:rotfl2:

Oh well I am meeting a friend, otherwise I don't think I would go.

Good morning everyone - happy Sunday!

Dianne - Chateaubriand is filet of beef in a wine sauce. It was like cutting into butter.

Napa Rose was amazing! It is somewhere Mark had said he wanted to try and while it is a little more upscale then we usually dine (think V&A in the Grand Floridian) it was a special treat. Mark started with a roasted tomato soup, then we shared a hot beach stone appetizer that had shrimp, chicken and beef ribs. Hard to picture and this is one place I didn't want to whip out my camera. :lmao: For the main course Mark had a pumpkin seed crusted Hawaiian Ono and I had filet of beef (see a pattern...I'm the picky eater) both were wonderful. For dessert I just went with a simple ice cream while Mark had an orange creme brulee which he said was fantastic.

The dining room is beautiful and entering you go past a wine cellar that had lots of autographed bottles in the window. I think we saw 7 or 8 with Pixar labels signed by John Lasseter.

Truly a night to remember.

Today we're going into California Adventure for a while then out to Downtown Disney to meet up with an old friend of mine from my Sears and Elek-Tek days who lives out here.

:santa:Mark and Mary wish i was there Chicago 3 to 4 in of snow

Yeah - we'll be heading back to that soon enough. Wish you guys were all here enjoying this with us.

Good Sunday Morning! :santa:

Monika - I'm with you on doing without the cold winter season. I love spring, summer and fall. Winter would be ok if it didn't get below 50 degrees.

Mary & Mark - your trip sounds absolutely amazing. I love the photos you have been posting on facebook and hope you will share more. And the restaurants you are eating at sounds heavenly. DH loves really good fine dining establishments. And we probably can't even imagine the wine list at Napa Rose. Love a nice glass of wine with dinner. Disneyland is definitely a bucket list place we want to go. Have a great day today.

Dianne - hope the pool you are exercising in is indoors and heated, otherwise you are gonna freeze your hiney off. :upsidedow Which I'm sure it is. Have a good time.

And congrats to you and Michael for getting the :bride: and pirate: yesterday.

Well since DH is talking about the tree, I am going to share some pics

CherryCakeandThanksgivingandtree006.jpg

Here is the Tree DH picked out, they picked it up with a fork lift to get it to the pick up truck. DS was nice enough to come over and help DH bring it it the house.

And here it is just after removing the netting:rotfl::rotfl:

CherryCakeandThanksgivingandtree009.jpg

My guess is the tree is so big, once the lights get on it will get mighty hot in that room:rotfl2::rotfl2:

This is a photo of DH's dad, they were making thier famous Cherry Cake, it looks like a fruit cake, but tastes a whole lot better
