March 2008

We can make our ADR's Spet 30th! Here is what we are looking at:
-Crystal Palace for breakfast
-Sci-Fi Drive In for Lunch
-Le Cellier for dinner
-Chef Mickeys for Breakfast

We have one more but are undecided...Any suggestions?!:surfweb:

Wow! Ya'll are making some great dining choices for your trips!

This is turning out to be the most difficult trip to plan for me. I know it's because this will be the first trip without DS. Well, sort of...he'll be there, but with his high school marching band and we aren't chaperoning...just going to watch him march. We might see him around, but not sure yet so I'm torn between planning for just DH and me or wondering if I should wing it more and hope that we can catch up to DS once or twice.

So far...DH and I are eating at Restaurant Marakesh...it's one of the few places DS always grimaces at when I suggest it. I think we'll do dinner at Narcoosee's and Spoodles as well. I'm thinking California Grill might be nice...DH hasn't eaten there, but I enjoyed it with my sis and niece last year. I can't make any ADRs till the 12th so I've got a few days to figure it out...and then I can change my mind later...lol

Are you kidding....let him fend for himself....Disney without the kids :lmao: :lmao:

Just kidding. :goodvibes

I travelled with the band when I was young and I would honestly say you probably won't see him unless you run into him. This type of trip allows him to make very special bonds with his friends that are never made when you stay home. I am still friends with a lot of the people I travelled with 30 years later.

I would give him some room and you could always change your plans to include him if he does choose to hang out with you, unless you book something that really fills up. Plus you could plan to do things other than eat together if the dinning does not work out.

He will have an incredible trip and you will get to enjoy some of the things he does not want to participate in. It sounds wonderful for everyone.

Have a great trip.

Honestly, I am right there with you on that! :thumbsup2

I finally sat DH down last night to figure out the dining plans and he was more worried about DS wanting to hook up than me. I really don't think we'll see much of DS except if he runs out of money or by accident in the same park, which is fine. I want him to have a good time with his friends. I trust him enough to know that he won't be doing anything stupid.

I was trying to figure out if DH just wanted to lollygag around that week or go kinda commando...it's been December 2005 since he was there. Thank goodness he said he just wants to chill out and enjoy the week so we aren't going to be locked into a schedule. I also found out that friends of ours might be on property the same week, so my girlfriend and I might hook up for tea at the GF, but I don't know for sure.

Provided I can get the ADRs next week, we're going to do Narcoosee's on 3/10, Restaurant Marakesh 3/11, Spoodles on 3/12, undecided about 3/13, and 3/14 it depends on our flight time if we grab an ADR some place.

Hey momsgoofy.

I never thought about the money factor....I never had that as an option since I was parentless on my trips...you may see more of him than I originally thought :rotfl:

It must be hard to come to the realization that the kids no longer want you around ALL the time like they did when they were little. Maybe that is part of DH thoughts.

I am not there yet as my girls are only 12 and 9 so they still want to come with us and spend time with us. I wonder what the next few years will bring.

I see you joined DVC in 2004 at SSR - so did we.

We are going to be staying at OKW this time since we have friends meeting us from Denver and I let them pick the resort. It will be fun to see a different resort.

We are going March 26 through April 5. Yeah! We went the same time last year (Wed. after Easter) and we had a fantastic time. Can't wait to go back. With a little planning and getting to the parks early, we did what we wanted to accomplish. I think we spent too much time at MK tho. We will do that differently this time. But, it was the kids first time, so spending more time at MK is almost a necessity!

We are staying at the Poly and Beach Club. We stayed at the Poly last year and loved, loved, loved it. I wanted to try Beach Club, so we decided on a split stay. Can't wait!

Yeah, we bought while on the Magic. DH went to the info meeting and knew he was going to buy before he told me later that night. I know this cause a friend on the ship told me when I told her we bought...she was like I knew before you did...teasing in a good natured way.) We love our DVC!

Our first DVC trip was to OKW and we really enjoyed it. We just weren't fond of the exterior entrances because of the entry lamps by the doors...too many moths found their way into the room. We've stayed at SSR a few times, but want to stay at each property and thought that AKV would be a nice change for just DH & I.

Our DS is still like your children...he does enjoy hanging out with us, but this trip he'll be with his friends in band. He's an only child so the chance to have a friend on vacation with him is a nice change.

Hi Momsgoofy

I am sure some women would be upset if their husband's made such a big purchase without them, but how can you get upset when he has just committed to 49 years of trips to see The Mouse! :goodvibes

We are going on the Magic again March 2009 - once they open up the date.

I love to cruise.

Well I could have book reservations by now but I have unable to decide what to book. I wonder if I will be able to get any of the ones I end up wanting after waiting so long now.

:confused3

Calling for my ADRs in under 10 minutes! Wish me luck!

Allyson :)

Just made my ADR's for Chef Mickeys on the 10Th.:cool1: We will celebrate my daughters 7Th b-day there. Because we are staying off site I have to make my Cindy's breakfast ressie for the 11Th tomorrow. Oh well. I hope we get what we want.

Got all mine!

We are going in March, we are staying at a friends condo 10 min from Disney!!!!! we have not picked a week yet, and that is aggravating me daily. We would really like to spend my dd's 4th birthday there, but that is on the 17th, being so close to st patrick's day will it be extremely crowded?? Not sure what the best week in March to go is, I want to stay away from the first week because that is the week after my kids get back from there feb. break. I'm confused, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...

At first we were planning for may but dh does not want to wait that long, and neither do I. :goodvibes

The earlier the better since Easter is March 23. Not only will you have Spring Breaks but also the Easter Crowds. If you could go before the weekend of the 15th I think you'd find those weeks a little lighter. From Palm Sunday weekend on will most likely be quite crowded. First week of March would probably be great!

Allyson

Hey, we'll be there at the same time! When are you at the Poly?

Me and My Best Friend Will Be There The Same But We Are Staying At POP! Maybe We Could All Meet Up Somewhere at the park like the main street bakery! Gald to see more DIS friends gonna be there then too!

I was wondering how the crowds are in March.... We were supposed to be there in November but due to unforseen circumstances we may have to change our trip (boo Hoo) until March. We have never been that time of year-It will be either the last 2 weeks of March or the last week of March through the first week of April. Is the weather good -- kids are worried about being able to hit the water parks and pools. Any info anyone might have would be fantastic:grouphug:

I have never been during time we are wanting but from what I have read its a great time to go! Guess we shall see! Its Disney so anytime is FUN!

Very True!! It just stinks being soooooo close to being there again and having to change it......needless to say kids were not to thrilled -even though they are old enough(young adults) to understand:rotfl2: We haven't been since 2002 so everyone is READY to get back!

We now have our ADRs and the real countdown has began.

We scheduled

Planet Hollywood 3/8 Dinner
Chef Mickey's 3/9 Breakfast
Chef Mickey's 3/10 Dinner
Tony's Town Square 3/11 Dinner
Crystal Palace 3/12 Dinner

My family is so picky we had to go with mostly buffets.:sad2:

But either way we are soooooooooooo ready to get there.
