March 2008

I am at the same point right now. I had a rough draft of meals planned based on buying the dinning plan but with the changes, I am not sure we would get our money's worth out of it.

One child age 12 would eat off the kids menu more than the adult menu. To spend nearly 40 bucks per day for mac and cheese is crazy.

Now I am not sure what I will do.

Maybe after our week at a cottage, I will be more anxious to plan.

We hit the 200 day mark today.

Boy have I been slow to find this thread. We are going March 8-13th and will be staying at the ASMu suites  It is going to be our annual trip and also a birthday trip for me as my b'day is the 5th.

The cast will be Me(40ish), DH(46), DD(19), DS(18) and DS(9) these will be the ages at time of trip. We are going to be using the basic ddp this trip and it will be the first time we have used it. I hate the changes made to the plan but, I still think we are going to enjoy using it :cloud9:

Patiently waiting for the 180 day mark, we are at 200 out today, 20 to go till I can make those ADRs.:hourglass

We are going Spring Break:scared1: this year with family and friends. I can't wait. 12 nights in WDW YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH

:woohoo: We now have our package booked. We went with the lower level dining plan, figuring that the deluxe plan plus concierge would just be to much food!

I am taking my 2 sons for the ESPN Weekend 2/29-3/2. I didn't realize this is during peak season- ouch, the rooms are more expensive- we usually go during the value season, a little cheaper. Has there ever been any discounts codes offered during the time frame- it would be nice to save a little money.

Im so excited to join this thread! This will be my first onsite stay and my best friends first trip to disney! We will be there March 28-April 4th! YAY! Im so excited already!

Hello fellow March WDW visitors!

We'll be there March 10 - 14, staying at AKLVillas in a studio concierge. Woohoo!

It's only going to DH and I in the room, but DS will be there as well. His high school marching band is performing on Thursday the 13th so he's staying with the band. I think that I'm more excited about the trip than DS is...lol...but I know he's disappointed that the powers that be have decided to stay off property. I've told him that it didn't matter if they were staying in a Motel 6 with 6 to a room in sleeping bags he is going to have the best time because he's going to be going and hanging out with his friends. I got a sly grin out of that from him.

I'm trying to not plan too much right now...actually it's all planned in my head. lol I am such an OCD travel planner!

So far, we're putting DS on the bus at 6am, driving to the airport, flying in to MCO on 3/10. I think we'll just us Magical Express for this trip since it's just 2 of us. We have to be home to pick DS up at the school on Saturday, 3/15 so we'll fly out late on Friday night to maximize our time.

Since we'll have concierge, I think we're just doing the basic dining plan. I know many say...oh, that will be too much food. But, I know us, we're not going to be holed up in the room all day just to hang out at the concierge lounge. So, breakfast there, lunch and dinner in the parks.

DH wants to to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour, so I'm waiting for the park hours to make sure I've got the early morning EMH days right and figuring out if I want to do the tour the same day that DS will be marching. (They are the band for the afternoon parade that Thursday.)

Table Service choices? So far DH and I are for sure doing Restaurant Marakesh and the rest is up in the air...contemplating Narcoosee's, Spoodles, California Grill, Nine Dragons.

Counter Service? Wow! This will be DH's first experience with more than one counter service location, so I'm not sure where to eat. I've got ideas, but it will depend on which park and our moods at the time.

Anyway, I'm glad to join you all in the planning for March 2008!!!

We have GOT to plan a meet up. I love the Dis boards and it is so much fun planning our trips. It would be great to meet people who are as much a Disney fanatic as I...............

As per my previous post we will be staying at the ASMu suites from March 8-13th.

Looking forward to meeting some of my Dis friends.

Just checking in! I had a brief freak out week or two when I thought I might want to bump our trip to Oct 08. But I decided that even though I love the idea of Halloween there...March was very good to us last year. :) I am guessing we will be staying at the ASMu family suites this time around. I just wish I could find good airline prices.

We ate at the Kona cafe and it was wonderful!! I can't wait to go there again and I think we will hit the Sci Fi up this time also. I don't know much about it though...but it sounds cool.

Wow when are you gonna be there? We may be neighbors and that would be fun, my youngest DS will be 9 this coming Sunday.

Has anyone made ADRs yet? This is how I feel about the fact that I need to make ours in a week! :earseek:

I can make ours starting Saturday but I have not even decided if I am going to buy the dining plan or not. I am having a very hard time deciding what to do about food on this next trip.

But it is only six month away now so I am getting excited.:thumbsup2

Saturday is our ADR day too, I thought about calling to see if I get one of those CMs who will let me slide on the 10 day+ rule, but heck I haven't even really decided where we want to eat yet. :confused3 I'm refusing to let myself get hung up on if we get into a certain restaurant or not. I'm going to focus on getting the times that we want to eat and figure what is ment to be is ment to be.

Chel, do you think you will end up doing the new dining plan?

I am really considering the Breakfast with the princesses at the castle. I think we might do this on one of the days that DH will be golfing. If he can spend $$ for a round of golf, I can spend it on this can't I?

Funny I decide most of these things but I still need to rationalize it as being fare to everyone.

Jo-Anne

Okay Chel, I see on the bottom of your post you are doing the dinning plan....:thumbsup2

We got the regular Dining Plan and our ADR day is Sept 12. Decisions, decisions! I had a tentative schedule and then the March hours came out and I shifted things around and now I just am not sure some of the places I still want to do and oh this is never easy!

Allyson :)

DH, DD 10, DD 8, and myself are going March 1 thru March 5 and staying at AKV. My DD 10 has a gymnastics meet in Tampa that weekend so we will drive over to Disney when it is done. I called yesterday and got all my ADR's and all the times I wanted. We are going to Jikos, Californial Grill, Artist Point, and Raglan Road. Has anyone ever been during this time? Since it is not Easter or anyone's spring break do you think it won't be busy? We usually go in Sept. or Jan. but have to go now b/c of the gymnastics meet. When do the park hours come out for March? Thanks for any help.

It is spring break for most of the Ontario, Canada kids but not until the 8th so you might be okay.

Can't wait to check out the March dates since you say they are out now. I checked the other day and the calendar was there but it was blank still.
