March 13th 2011 Fiesta time on the Wonder!

I have to post 10 things so I can send some some of you a PM. So please forgive me if some of my posts are kind of random.

FYI I just got $119 for the Doubletree San Pedro. Had to prepay, but what a deal. I called the hotel and it does include free parking for the week, but does not include breakfast. We stayed here for our RCCL cruise last March and it was a very nice hotel.

Well, we looked at the hotels in the area today, and found that they were out of our price range.

So, we are taking advantage of family. We are staying out East of downtown, near a relative's place. She will drive us to the port and keep our van for the week.

Grand total? $70.00, plus the added bonus of seeing family before we leave....and being able to rub it in when we get back. :rotfl2:

We are staying at the Doubletree the day prior too! :) Our flight gets in a 11 am and we are taking a shuttle straight there. Booking that this week. Deciding between a private van or a towncar.

Doubletree rocks. It looks like there are interesting places to walk to in the area and excited about staying on the marina. Glad there are other DIS folks there! They also have a shuttle that will take you in a 5 mile radius.

Copadave, Family is important. Glad that worked out you get a free stay and visit in.

I would like to get on the fish extender list but cannot pm anyone until I've made 10 posts. What should I do?

You can post it on here if you'd like, or just make several more posts with small questions/statements to get up to the required post amount.

We are booked on this cruise and I have a question about the fish extender. It will by myself, DS21, and DD10. Is it just for the kids or adults also? I know my son will not want to participate but trying to decide if I should sign up with my daughter.

Hey y'all, I canceled our flights to and from LA on Southwest. Anyone interested in $537.20 in Southwest credits? I won't have an opportunity to use them before they expire. PM me if you're interested or know someone who might be. HURRY!! Effective January 28, 2011, unused travel funds may only be applied toward the purchase of future travel for the individual named on the ticket.

ok..I called the doubletree yesterday and was told 2 different things.. the first lady at the actual location said I could book anywhere and get the parking and shuttle... then when I was transferred to reservations, I wanted to see prices..she told me no, if you do not purchase the parking package you cannot leave your car or use the shuttle.. I did not book.. but was wondering if anyone has any insight into this.. I see someone got 90 on priceline for the crown plaza...do they offer the parking?? TIA

Nope, the parking is not included. They said if they had enough space, we could park for $15 per day. If not enough space, we could park at the port for $12 per day. We are taking the shuttle, anyway, so it didn't matter to us

Ok..I just called the Crowne Plaza..they guy there confirmed that you have to buy the parking/sail package as well.. but you get drink coupons and breakfast..they have a package of 189, which I think doubletree had as well.. if you do not buy the package, you have to pay parking of 10/day, and pay per person for shuttle over to the port..

does anyone have any other places that let you park for free?? We are trying to decide if it is worth it to drive down the day before or the day of..

We are staying at Crowne Plaza also. Just got off the phone with them and was told that there is a free shuttle to the port available for all registered guests. Hopefully we don't find out otherwise when we get there.

So odd.. it seems I get so many different answers.. if you don't mind..how much did you get the room for? I was told to use the shuttle/parking you have to book direct to them, not on one of the other websites..

I was told that the shuttle was free, and the parking would cost $15 per day, only if there was space. If there was no space, we couldn't park there either way. We will be ok if there is not a free shuttle, since my step-daughter will have her van. She will probably just park at the port.

Saw on Facebook today that the Wonder has left Florida!!! So exciting for those of us waiting for her to come to California!! :woohoo:

Cannot believe how close we are to sailing. Having the holidays was a nice distraction to cruise planning. :rolleyes1 And now that the holidays are over, I'm distracted with school, work, running, etc. Normally when we're this close to a sail date I'm in full cruise planning mode. Maybe this one will be a lot more chill for me. That wouldn't be so bad!

We're still going to Disneyland the day before the cruise. Anyone else going?

We're going to Disneyland too. We've always gone to Disney World so I don't have a clue what to see and where to eat. Can anyone help me with this?
