March 12, 2011 Eastern Caribbean, Let's rock the Magic!

I'm loving the activity on this thread! Welcome to all the new additions! This seems to be a good group of DISers, and I am looking forward to meeting all of you! :goodvibes

So I'm heading out this weekend for a girls only retreat, and plan on putting together my scrapbook from my cruise from November of 2009...I HAVE to get that one completed before I go on this next one!!! I am also taking all kinds of fun things to work on/experiment with for the FE gifts!!! I am loving doing this! And I am going to attempt at some point to make my own fish extender...I'm not as creative as I'd like to be...but I would like to "make it my own." :rotfl2:

So with all of the talk about the Dream, is anyone wishing that you'd booked that one instead? NOT ME!!! I love the 7 day itinerary, and I love the Magic (she is still amazing!). I would love to check out the new ship, but not until the itinerary lengthens (like with the Fantasy). If I'm gonna pay for airfare to Florida, I'm gonna stay a while!

And by the way, our lovely perfect 60 degree winter weather here in Texas has disappeared and has been replaced with windy 20s-30s (and a little snow if you were lucky)! :sad2: (not us, but everyone around us!)
Marcy, I love your picture of your backyard! The snow there is gorgeous! But I still can't wait for Caribbean sun, ya'll!!! :cool1:

Stay warm!

Teri: We cruised in November 2009 and I still have to do my trip! maybe I can just send you the pictures from mine and you can make a duplicate scrapbook for my trip!!;);) What do you think? I have all the supplies....and I'd be happy to drop them by Grand Prairie! ha! Well...maybe I'll start working on mine too!

Ashley

Okay, Teri, you have inspired me...I still have my cruise from January 2009 and WDW 2009 to do. I will do them before this cruise...so that will be my weekends until I'm done!

Here in Houston....low tonight is.......27!!! My blood is too thin for that cold! BRRRR...:) However by next Monday we're in the 70's again....go figure.

Ha! I remember when I first moved to this small town I was open to meeting new people and accepted and invitation to a "scrapbooking" party. I thought for sure we'd scrapbook for awhile, drink wine, then end up socializing with the wine for the rest of the evening... NOPE! These ladies were serious about their scrapbooking! They stayed until Midnight (so I heard) and there was NO wine!!:sad2:

I only scrapbook our trips and have a really great book from our last cruise, maybe I'll post pics if anyone is interested. I already have them on Photobucket.

I totally agree! I am thinking of rebooking onboard then pushing it 2+years like I did last time and end up on the Fantasy 7 nighter.

Just wait, it has started snowing here again and if the predictions are right, there will be an additional 6"-9" by tomorrow afternoon. :cold:

No Wine???:confused3 You are going to the wrong weekend retreats! There is ALWAYS wine at the ones I attend! Now, we have to watch that we do more scrapbooking than wine drinking...but we find a good balance!

I went to a scarpbook party once. I came home without buying anything. :lmao: I am not creative enough for that. My DD15 and DD12 do pages and they turn out pretty good. I am amazed at how much it can cost. :scared1:

I still like to print photos and put them in albums and we DO look at them. It is always fun.

We bought material for our FE and will try to put something together this week.

I am located in Windsor Ontario, not far from Paris and Hamilton. It is always fun to see if there are more Canadians or Texans on board the ship.

My wife, Theresa, and I with our DS 11 and our DD 7 purchased our tickets to this, our first Disney Cruise, or cruise of any sort for that matter, just before Christmas. An impulse buy we are really glad we made! We can't wait to get away from our fridged Ontario winter weather! :)

More folks from Canada! Welcome....I think you might have us "Texans" outnumbered now! Welcome!

Ugh! I need to go to a scrapbooking party (with lots of wine)! My books stopped when DD2 was born.

Big WELCOME!!:yay:

I want to be at your house for Christmas! What a great family gift!.

You will be so amazed at Disney Cruise Line! (oh, yea, and I hear the Caribbean is nice too:rolleyes:)

Just stroll around these DIS boards, trip reports, pictures, reviews, and don't hesitate to ask questions here or on the main DCL forum! Being prepared helps, but any way you'll have a terrific vacation!
Glad you are joining our cruise!!

I'm with you on that one! I've had enough of this snow and freezing cold Ontario weather. It's our first cruise too. My DH, Bruce and I (Michelle) along with our DD10 and DD7. We told the girls at Christmas and we're so excited!

Only 2 months to go!

Small world. We're from Kitchener. My sister lives in Paris and my inlaws are from Glen Morris.

Only 60 more days! I'm soooooo excited!
Wow Michelle, it is a small world...our kids go to Glen Morris school and my in-laws also live in Glen Morris!!! They're going on the cruise as well.

You're right about scrapbooking...it can cost a lot of $$ and it's very addictive. That said, my girls just LOVE to look at their books over and over so it's worth it.

We'll be driving through Windsor on our way to Florida. We looked at flights but decided to drive down since we just got a new car. However, if I find a cheap last minute deal I might reconsider. Not likely given that it's March break, though.

It's getting closer now and I can't wait. :yay::yay::yay::yay:

Too funny...my husband and all his siblings went to Glen Morris school. My inlaws live on the farm right next to the school. Our nephew is just finishing up Grade 8 there this year.

Hey all!!!

I just found this and am starting to get very excited for our cruise!?!?

My name is Heather. It'll be just our family of 4 on this cruise. DH, Heath...10 YO DS, Hunter, and 5 YO DD, Madysen. (Madysen will turn 6 ON the cruise!)

Since the holidays are finally over, I'm finally starting to prepare for this!

Hey Heather!
Welcome to the group! We are all very excited for our cruise which is the main reason for this thread... to get to know some fellow cruisers and have a reason to think about and talk about our up coming trip!

BTW to all - I have updated the full list of people who have posted on our cruise meets thread... it's on page 8, post #119.

January 12th.... two months exactly!:dance3:

You could always try naming your price on price line. You could try Detroit to Orlando and then do a park and fly at the Detroit airport.

What day are you leaving home? We are flying out on the 10th so we can visit with friends in Orlando on the Friday before the cruise.
