March 10 announcement?

Just spoke to a CM at DCL -- she said no announcement until Spring (late March/early April).

Emailed TA and she said Disney is being very closed mouth about this announcement and they have not heard a hint about timing or possible itineraries.

Hey, considering that Disney had a soft opening for the rest of 2012 on the Fantasy and it is STILL not listed on their website, who knows how they are going to go about this! They may have another "secret" opening and let us find out through word of mouth again

That's when a good TA comes in handy

UGGH! I knew this was going to happen. We won't have a single bit of news tomorrow and we will be guessing for another month! Why are they being so closed about it. It is annoying. I want to book my summer plans for next year already! They could at least let us know where they are NOT going.

I just did a google search and found that March 10th WAS the date that DCL announced the names of the new ships. I hope that whoever got the information about the conference with TAs was looking at the correct year for March 10th.

Of course the day I have to work they may make an announcement of where the ships are going
I can't get online till I get home tomorrow but my e-mail come to my phone so if someone wants to PM me after they make the announcement that would be great. My PM's come to my email directly so I won't have to long on to dis(which i can't at work) to read it.

I just hope it isn't an announcement that they started building the Fantasy. Last time we thought they were going to have a big announcement they just announced things we already knew

Oh it would be awful if we were all all worked up for nothing.

Question- I don't know much about cruise ships and how fast they can travel. Is Norfolk a possibility when we know the Magic will be in Grand Cayman once a week? We know the Wonder will be out West and the 2 newbies have to stay in Pt.Canaveral.

I figured maybe people on the dis knew things others didn't as this is often the case.

I had posted back on page 5 or so asking if anyone knew more details or a time and never got a response.

I think that either there is no announcment or Disney is only releasing to their top agencies. Not sure which but I have a feeling we are out of luck for this week!

Thanks. I thought it was a TA who started this rumor a few weeks ago.

Now, the DIS is becoming as reliable as a WDW bus driver.

I was, to my knowledge, the person that originally posted about the March 10th date. I got that information last week, when my agency had a call with our Disney Regional Sales/District Manager ( I don't honestly know what his exact title is, but he overseas our travel agency -I know the owners deal with him a lot more than the agents ever really do). While discussing the Disney Dream, one of the agents asked about later 2012/2013 itineraries, and that was his response, that they were told that Disney would be having a press conference on March 10th, which he believed was going to be streamed live to TA's via Disney's travel agent website, announcing for 2012/2013. If they don't stream it live, I would expect them to send an email or post the news to their TA website.

I certainly have no reason to doubt him, though of course, those dates and plans can change. I also found it interesting he said the other DSM's, like him, asked to have the information up front, and were told no, they had to wait and find out on March 10th like everyone else!

Have you heard anything new about time of the stream to the TA website?

It's a good way for the TA to try to get people to pay attention to his posts. Create rumors. Unfortunately, it's not like the Dis can control the rumor mills.

Well we will know tommorow if it is anything, either way we are powerless but even the hope of knowing is worth it to me.
