March 10 announcement?

if it is Galvenston, how far from the Houston airport is it?

There are 2 airports in Houston. Houston Hobby (HOU) is smaller and is used mostly by SWA and Airtran. It is about 45-60 mins.

Intercontinental (IAH) is the international airport that is north of Houston. It's about 1.5 hours or so to Galveston if you're not dealing with rush hour. During rush hour, I'm sure you could tack on up to an hour.

Both have their advantages. HOU is closer and you wouldn't have to deal with near the traffic but there really aren't nice hotels nearby. But if you plan on heading straight to Galveston, really doesn't matter about the hotel issue.

We are definitely looking forward to hearing the announcement here in this house!
Question... if we see one we really like and want to book as soon as we are able, can we transfer the ressie once we are on our July cruise? I'd really like to get the prebooking deal again, but July is a long way away....:confused3

Here's hoping for Alaska or Hawaii for summer 2012. Or Alaska Summer 2012 with hawaii the rest of the year!!!

This is exciting! I'm hoping for a Hawaii destination at some point!

Is it possible they will announce the March 2013 Dream Itineraries? I was planning to wait until June to book my March 2012 Cruise because we are going on vacation the first week of June. I was wavering between 2 different cruises and the 4-day went up $600 yesterday between the time I got home from work and went to bed. The 5-day was still at the cheaper price this morning and I had decided I would go ahead and book that when I got home from work tonight. Well, it had gone up $900 by the time I got home from work! At this point I am thinking we will book immediately upon release of the March 2013 dates! We have to book the Dream or Fantasy because the kids are dreaming of the aquaduck!

Anyway, that was a long winded way of saying I hope this could meam some March 2013 dates too.

Does anyone know what time this "confrence" will be with the TA's?

I am going to not get any work done tommorow, if I don't know this, because I will keep checking in on the DIS:lmao:

I'd like to know that too! Our cruise is in a month but with the way prices are jumping it might be nice to lock in!

Can't Disney decide to brighten up this SW Virginia dreary day by make the announcement today. I would love a ship to leave from Norfolk and go anywhere!!

Why was I up all night last night checking for the Dream Dates:surfweb:, finally I got in the bed around 2am then I was back up at 4:00am:surfweb: then 6:30 am:surfweb: then back up at 7:00 am:surfweb: checking DCL website no new news:confused:. I then got back up at 7:30 to get my son off to school and when I read him his breakfast menu it said March 9th:scared1:. Guess I will have to do it all over tonight :laughing:

You can do that base on availablility. We did just that on our upcoming MR cruise. You will get a new reservation number and a different room other than the one you booked. It's worth it though since you get the discount and the bigger onboard credit. :)

Hawaii would be Great! Not much longer till the announcement:banana: Banana Dance...lol

I just spoke to my DSM with Disney....no announcement is set for tomorrow as far as she knows.

My TA said it will be April before we know the rest of 2012.:sad2:

So apparently, we're still waiting for a press release that there will be a press release!

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

There is nothing official yet from DCL to the general public...but seems that there is to be a TA press conference with DCL. ...and I think the press conference itself is first and then I would assume sometime after that the itineraries would be released.

Believe me...you are not the only one who is interested in knowing what the rest of 2012 is looking like!!!

MJ

I will post here live during the press conference! Crossing my fingers for Asia....or at least something different!

I was, to my knowledge, the person that originally posted about the March 10th date. I got that information last week, when my agency had a call with our Disney Regional Sales/District Manager ( I don't honestly know what his exact title is, but he overseas our travel agency -I know the owners deal with him a lot more than the agents ever really do). While discussing the Disney Dream, one of the agents asked about later 2012/2013 itineraries, and that was his response, that they were told that Disney would be having a press conference on March 10th, which he believed was going to be streamed live to TA's via Disney's travel agent website, announcing for 2012/2013. If they don't stream it live, I would expect them to send an email or post the news to their TA website.

I certainly have no reason to doubt him, though of course, those dates and plans can change. I also found it interesting he said the other DSM's, like him, asked to have the information up front, and were told no, they had to wait and find out on March 10th like everyone else!

So apparently, we're still waiting for a press release that there will be a press release!

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

so anyone know the time frame for this?
