I prefer Shulas for steak over Yachtsman, but same response applies. They get everything from people dressed up to folks in park clothes.
The trick is they are still closed on Sundays and Mondays, which has been the case since they reopened after the pandemic
Not only does V&A have non-alcoholic drink pairings, they offer a water menu (or at least they used to) where you can choose bottled water from a number of different countries and sources. We did this once or twice just to have something besides the typical Evian or whatever the standard water they offer is. I know it sounds crazy, but the water from the Scottish distilleries and from the Croatian lakes really do taste different. And as mentioned above, you don't need to sit there for four hours straight. They're more than happy to let you take a break and go wander around the hotel to stretch your legs, give your stomach a break, etc.Love HBD, Tiffins, and Cali Grill. We actually hosted DS and DDIL’s rehearsal dinner in the Napa Room at Cali Grill and had like 8 courses and it was great, but I felt that a good bit of the $$$$$ per person was, not so much the food, but the wine selections. And the prix fixe prices don’t allow any difference between wine and water drinkers.
Got some “food for thought” from several of you, though. E.g. I actually did not know that there were any non-alcoholic drink pairings. Thanks, although I am not sure I could sit at any table for four hours!
Well, we may have to go to V&A for our 50th anniversary! Just a few years away! It's for sure not an every trip thing, but for a special occasion, it is perfect. For example, we ate there on our 25th anniversary and I kept the personalized menus. It was fun to get all dressed up and really celebrate.
Good luck! Injuries are the worst. You'll be back up to speed before you know it.Well, potentially some good news today. I haven't been able to run since a badly strained hamstring led to a DNF of the MW marathon ~10 weeks ago. After a lot of rest, light walking and stretching/strengthening exercises, I've gotten the green light from my PT to start easing back into running this weekend. There's a good deal of anxiety and reluctance to trust the leg at this point, so fingers crossed it goes well.
That is great to hear! It is always nerve racking when you first start back up post injury, but trust in your PT and the plan and you will be out crushing ultras again before you know it!Well, potentially some good news today. Pretty sure my body would murder me if I tried to do a beer mile right after a marathonRandom question, but has anyone ever put together a beer mile after the marathon either around the boardwalk (high traffic area could be a issue) or the running path around the lake at Pop / AoA (Havent been around that area since the skyliner was installed... not sure if that would work either now). Just curious who out there would want to add another mile to their day on the Sunday or if this has been tried with not great results?
After the marathon, I couldn't even imagine trying to restart my legs back up, even for a not so serious run. Usually at that time I am contemplating why I didn't rent a lark for that day in the parks.Random question, but has anyone ever put together a beer mile after the marathon either around the boardwalk (high traffic area could be a issue) or the running path around the lake at Pop / AoA (Havent been around that area since the skyliner was installed... not sure if that would work either now). I like the concept - but rather than a beer mile, it would be a literal pub crawl for me - emphasis on crawl.Random question, but has anyone ever put together a beer mile after the marathon either around the boardwalk (high traffic area could be a issue) or the running path around the lake at Pop / AoA (Havent been around that area since the skyliner was installed... not sure if that would work either now). Completely agree! And you also made me remember to adad that its where you can get a Kungaloosh Spiced Ale - not the original but I still enjoy it’s namesake!SAFD: This is really hard, but I have to rep the surviving S.E.A. outlets. I'm going with Skipper Canteen.
