Marathon Weekend 2025

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention, was thinking about grabbing a beer for the last Epcot mile, got in, and didn't see anywhere where they were selling beer, also didn't see ANYONE stopping anywhere for one, which surprised me a bit. Was like ok fine, maybe for the better (I really didn't know how I'd feel carrying a fullish beer for the last of 26 miles). Finally, just before exiting Epcot, there was a vendor and I stopped long enough to see there was a vendor and on the menu was Blue Moon. Do I want to ask if they're actually selling this at 9:50 am? I think about it and ehhhh.... no. My stomach is struggling a bit so I decide to pass on what would be a final fun finish line photo op.

And then about a minute later I see a guy who DID inquire, DID get the beer and is now struggling mightily to avoid spilling it. It looked like a big beer! Definitely bigger than a standard pint, unless my eyes were deceiving me (it was mile 26 after all). Anyway, if you're looking in the future, that might be an option.
I got mine at the Canada beer cart. They were pretty efficient with runners. But maybe it opened later. I was pretty late.

Well I was going to try and make DATW but my body decided we needed 13 hours of sleep. So I’m just getting up now. I knew this was a possibility since I didn’t set an alarm going to bed. But honestly didn’t expect it to happen. Catch y’all on another trip hopefully

So in my exhaustion I apparently lost the marathon ears at some point last night. Anyone know if there is anywhere that might have a spare around? I was really hoping to get it painted on so this is more then frustrating

Just noticed this on my running app this morning. Apparently set 2 personal records yesterday. furthest run and longest run - at 7h14m - that puts me well below balloon lady pace yesterday 😳

(I attribute this to having ridden both Everest and TOT)
tell me its not harder to walk a marathon than it is to run one....i am in awe that those ladies do it consistently at that pace for 26 miles while we can go faster or slow down occasionally. thats impressive.

that said, I will not run another Dopey......

THIS YEAR....hehe. now comes the stress of registration

Had such a blast running the Half Marathon. Here are a few thoughts on my experience.
  • Didn’t check my email until Friday night at 8 p.m. so I never got my chip updated/fixed.
  • So glad the rain calmed down just as the race was starting.
  • Even though the 60/70’s don’t have my favorite characters I still really enjoyed the mix of characters on the course.
  • It started to rain when I was going by Grand Floridian and through Magic Kingdom so I missed out on Marie, Hitch Hiking Ghosts and Rapunzel/Flynn.
  • Loved the Electrical Water pageant being out (And that path wasn't as crowded as I expected... Did it get worse later?)
  • Fun to have a slightly different route inside the Magic Kingdom.
  • Loved how they had the Pictures in front of the Castle set up this year, it was the best one I’ve ever had.
  • When I made it to EPCOT I totally missed Meeko didn’t’ even see him haha.
  • Also loved the pic of Space Ship earth in the background.
  • Went through the usual highs and lows of “Should I just go back to bed and skip this, why did I sign up for this, this is fun, I LOVE this so much I should do this EVERY RACE” Haha
If you want to see highlights from the Half I was carrying my camera and put this together:
Thanks to everyone on these boards for all the tips, info, and support. Makes preparing for the races so fun.

Someone was getting a beer at that cart as I ran by at 9:10ish. Heard him ask and they said yes.
