Moving to America. On the seating area by the outdoor beer counter.
I get it for Jack since that's a character, and he's not trying to be an influencer or whatever. But someone mentioned runninginmakeup, who not only is an influence/content creator and chooses to put her life why there, but she is getting special treatment for it. I just don't get wanting to live your life so publicly, but then wanting to hide how long it took you to run a race.I imagine Jack just doesnt want his real name out there. He’s pretty committed to the bit!
"Liquid IV". Gotcha. Wink-wink, nudge-nudge. Say no more!@Lemon Head I think you can visit runner relations at the Expo to have your tracking hidden. I imagine influencers do it for privacy reasons.
@Mr. lncredible I will be drinking liquid IV around the world and while eating a baguette from France.![]()
Could be privacy concerns in terms of personal data like where they live. I've been shocked to find out some of the stalkery stuff and nutjobs out there hunting down people who live publicly (like local TV and radio personalities).I get it for Jack since that's a character, and he's not trying to be an influencer or whatever. Maybe I'm just old and grumpy and don't get it![]()
That's what I was thinking too and also course safety concerns. It's one thing for people to know you're at the race and another for them to know exactly where on course.Could be privacy concerns in terms of personal data like where they live. FINALLY
Or all the people finding out personal info for Tally the Elf. *headdesk*Could be privacy concerns in terms of personal data like where they live. Not last for me but definitely my favorite of the remaining three I hadn’t gotten. My count now:That was the last of the six for me also. Got it at Spring Surprise last year. I thought it went well, but favorite remains September. Such a great ride!!!!
There was some talk of that out on the course heading towards HS. Who has it harder the people that can do the faster paces or the people that are slower and spend more time on the course. I don't know. I do know that I can't run it even with intervals. My knee can't take it. But walking, I got that! I got a sub-7 time and I am thrilled with that. Wasn't sure that was something I could do.tell me its not harder to walk a marathon than it is to run one....i am in awe that those ladies do it consistently at that pace for 26 miles while we can go faster or slow down occasionally. thats impressive.
And I’m a CO runner, getting ready for Princess. When I travel to races, I play “spot the runner” at DIAOn a plane back to the real world... I don't want to work tomorrow but I got to pay for all this Dopey merch I bought. Lol
So many people who ran in wdw marathon weekend are on this plane. All of us colorado folks love running.
I also woke up at like 4:30 and my body thought we slept in...lol. Good news waking up so early meant I could get all packed up and get a couple early morning hours in at MK before we leave.
Also my fav pic of the weekend... my photopass photographer came up with this idealove it! A new way to show off our bling.

I feel like there were less in-park photos in general, compared to the last two years! But there were so many character photos that perhaps that balanced out. I also am a bib belt convert, makes stressing about pinning the bib or dealing with layers a non issue. It sounds like everyone had a great MW! Sorry to hear about the injuries. I missed the meetups, I guess my timing was off. I looked on Friday and didn’t see anyone and then Sunday I got in line early so I could be at the front of my corral. I got put in F and I was very concerned about that so I decided the best thing I could do was be at the front and not stop for pictures.
Big shout out to @DopeyBadger for tracking. That made the whole marathon much less stressful. I managed to get Jack Skellington, Darth Vader, and Bolt. Overall, the lines for characters seemed very short versus what I usually see. Maybe it was because of starting later.
Course crowding didn’t seem to be a big issue and I liked the new course. Getting in more miles before AK just means less that will be left afterwards. But I am really tired of being cold. I didn't shed my top throwaway hoodie until probably somewhere around mile16 I think.
Random thoughts:
Back at home now with happy cats.
- The camber on the road going in & out of AK was the worse part of the course for me. Way worse than the cloverleaf.
- The Star Wars section was awesome. It really helped break up those miles and I was surprised at the 4 character stops in such a short amount of space.
- The amount of time in MK was good. More than last year and everything around the castle seemed better organized, although I wasn’t paying a lot of attention.
- Was anyone else surprised by the lack of characters and photopass photographers in MK? All that space and only a few photopass people. Seemed like a missed opportunity to me.
- The bib belt was a big win. It gave me another place to easily attach my Running Buddy pouches to.

We are about to head for the bus to MK - Rain or (moon) shine!Anyone doing the After Hours tonight and crying internally at the forecast? I'm tempted just to skip it, but we already paid like $300 for the 2 tickets and I doubt we'd get refunded.
