It’s chilly today in WDW! Almost noon and this Minnesotan is in a sweatshirt, vest, and light down coat with my cheap gloves. The sun is shining and feels nice though! But will for sure need gloves for the corrals!

Made my connection in Detroit (and so did my checked bag). Lots of runners on my flight to MCO! It's REAL!!

My first ever rD race, I flew down, and as we pushed back the FA asked for a show of hands for MW runners. About half the plane raised their hand. So cool. That is one of the best things about MW: all of the fellow runners and all of the energy in the DW resorts and parks. Love it.

More random advice: If, like me, you tend to run with your hands making fists, make sure to lower your arms to your sides and shake your hands out periodically, like once or twice per mile. Otherwise, your shoulders will get tight and sore, and you can even affect circulation to the point where your arm goes numb (like mine did in my first full). Stretch those arms as you run and walk.

I wore shorts and long sleeves on my run this am. It was 42 with a feels like of 39. Regretted not wearing gloves or ear protection for the first couple of miles and then regretted the long sleeves by the end. At least it was good practice for the races this weekend .

We're skipping MW this year and did Wine and Dine instead. I missed the energy from MW, where it seems like everyone there is either running, spectating, or has run in the past.

UPDATE: thank you so much to those who warned me off of soggy thermal tights and to @accm for the tip - I found cheap, disposable rain paints that will be here Thursday! They’re unisex, so will almost certainly be too big, but I can cut the bottoms down and figure something out to cinch the waist. IDK if I’ll tolerate them for 13.1 miles, but at least it’s something if I’m desperate. And maybe, just maybe, this was the purchase required to drive off the rain entirely.

I’ve landed at MCO, and my room at Saratoga is ready already, and I got the exact room I requested through touring plans. I’ve never gotten my exact request before, usually I get the same characteristics, but never the exact room. Now if my plane would just find a gate already!!

Okay so asking because I’m seeing something differently than other people. Where is everyone getting the half as the hottest day? Because I’ve seen comments on here and FB aligning to that. AccuWeather and Weather Channel both have it listed for the 10k. With the half start still in the 40s

This what Weather Channel is showing right now for Bay Lake, FL (WDW). Friday’s low is the wee hours of Sat morning. Thursdays’ low is the wee hours of Fri (10K). Sat’s low is the wee hours of Sun morning. So while I wouldn’t call this “warm,” it’s looking like the warmest morning of the bunch. For now.

I ran slightly after race time this morning. Temperature was 42, perfect for a low HR moderate pace shakeout after the long flight. The wind, though. That's some brisk northern air. Standing around waiting in the corrals will be chilly.

The wind is pretty brisk today. Went over to Disney Springs to find a beanie for my wife. The wind was blowing pretty good through there and made it really cold. Back at the resort where the wind is blocked by the buildings, and its not too bad in the sun. But definitely a little taste of what to expect on some of these race mornings.

Are you sure you're looking at the right low? The low listed under Thursday's forecast will be the low for the 10k. The low being shown as Friday is for Friday night into Saturday, thus the half start. AccuWeather has pretty consistently had the morning of the half showing as the warmest of the weekend over the past few days.

I am so exhausted.....from packing. I think we managed to fit all of the toss away clothes, enough running gear and shoes to figure out what we will actually wear for running, gels, applesauce pouches, cliff bars, etc., bio-freeze, band aids, belts, and mylar blankets. The thought is we will come home a lot lighter.
