I'm totally on Team @Waiting2goback!
Training question - I'm at a point in my training plan that has me alternating long runs, so last weekend I did 18 miles, this weekend 10, then 20,10,20,12,etc. I think I'm supposed to be running the shorter runs at about the same pace as the long runs? My problem is I seem to run the 10 milers about 30 seconds faster per mile, is this okay or should I try and slow it down? It's probably a mental thing, I know it's only 10 miles so I run faster.

I was wondering what is the best resource for finding ride closures, park construction, etc.? Our group usually visits one park over Marathon Weekend on Thursday after the 5K. We usually do Epcot because it has a nice mixture of things to do for everyone, but we are thinking of mixing it up a bit. We haven't been to HS or AK in quite a while (I think HS was still MGM the last time we were there), but we want to see what the construction and closures will be at all of the parks before making a decision. Thanks in advance for any help.
They see it as me loving the "theme park". And I can never explain that what I love is the Disney "community" and what that means.
Correct Space refurb was cancelledSplash at MK will be down 1/10-1/14 and Space was listed to be down 1/11-1/15 but I don't think it is anymore.
Anyone know when Garmin Connect is supposed to be back online? I know it went down yesterday for maintenance at 9PM CST, but did not know how long it would be down for.
It's up.According to what they're telling people on twitter, no ETA on getting it back up. They just tell people to check the status page for updates: https://connect.garmin.com/en-US/status (no updates on there either, other than saying that everything is down)
Go White!
Mixing in some tempo work can be a good thing, but 10 miles likely only seems like a "short" run when in comparison to the 18 and 20 milers. I would recommend being careful not to always push those "shorter" runs. 10 milers is not really very short.
They feel easy though, don't they. After my 18 miler on Sunday, my 8 miler today wasn't even a slight challenge. Right now, anything short of 15 miles feels really easy.Right. I actually said to a coworker last week, "I'm only doing a 10 miler this weekend." Of course they looked at me like I was crazy - probably the same way I looked at my friend last May when she asked me if I wanted to run a marathon with her!
I never did find anything for Avengers on the USATF site, but maybe I don't know what I'm looking for or was searching incorrectly. I did find last year's course, but it said it was expired.
Anyone having trouble with their My Disney Experience? I lost all my hotel and dining reservationa and can't re-add them on the site...says someone with my name has them already. Only the 'app' works, but as usual no software developer ever puts all of the main site features into their useless apps...sigh

I can't even log in. When I try, it tries to make me update my password. But then when I update my password, it states there are errors on the page even though everything is correct, and it doesn't specify what it thinks is incorrect. The MDE app on my iPhone still works fine, and all my reservations are listed there.
Something died when Walt did but it is so amazing to see what is still alive this many years later. So many people think I'm weird for liking Disney so much. They see it as me loving the "theme park". And I can never explain that what I love is the Disney "community" and what that means. I know there are bad people who go to Disney but I chose not to see them. For those 4-5 days I am there in January I allow myself to escape because the rest of the year I live in real life.
I've heard that you can see the floating mountains from avatarland now. I'm excited to spend some time in AK to see what you can actually see now.Didn't see anything at AK that will be down, but they just added 2 hyenas to the safari and of course there's the construction of Avatar. You can google ride closures 2016 to get updated lists as it gets closer too.
Thats not surprising. I thought it was really easy to get to the start for the Disneyland half, but I can see them potentially needing additional security.Final run last night before Avengers this weekend. Even though I feel like I trained less (since DLH) I feel more prepared (not sure why!), so we shall see what happens. It sounds like they are adding some interesting potential snafus to us at DL, so I think I will get out there sooner than usual, which will already make it better than September. For those interested, there are rumors that they are adding security/bag check before letting you in the area. That's new for us.
At the avengers expo they have medals for avengers and Star Wars at dl. I could be wrong but with Star Wars medals on the far right, is that the marathon medal for wdw?
Sorry if this has been brought up already

BTW, don't know if you saw, but they finally posted the certified Avengers half marathon course on USATF last week (11 days before the event):

Have you tried syncing your data through something like Tapiriik to runkeeper in order to create a backup. That does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about the marathon course.
My Garmin App isn't pulling up any of my old runs, but all my info is on the web site. I have no idea what they changed but I wish they would stop making changes. I was happy with what I had.
Im done complaining today... well at least for now.
