I think for most of us on these boards, this is our reality Disney is a great theme park, but that's a small component of what makes them so special. I think both in CM's and people that really enjoy the park, Walt has inspired us with an optimism that impacts how we try and make things magical for each other.
I didn't get Disney until we decided to plan a trip to celebrate some health things for my wife. The more I got involved with planning, the more I delved into the Disney community and started to learn about Disney history. The more I learned the more I appreciated the company and people on boards like this and disdads.

I have a similar story, minus the health issues. I wasn't a Disney fan growing up. Not that I hated Disney, I just never watched the movies or anything. I didn't go until my honeymoon, when I was 24. My wife convinced me to go, against my objections. We stayed at the Grand Floridian. The service was amazing. That, along with the parks was so awesome. I fell in love. Then I began reading about Walt and the Disney history. That was it, end of story. Walt remains probably my biggest role model to this day. Now I am consumed by Disney.
