Whew - I have missed a lot!
From 2 days ago: My out of the ordinary thing happened yesterday. I slipped on ice and took a nasty fall, badly bruising my butt & back. I'm hoping it doesn't affect my running too much and hopefully I'll be fine by next Sunday. Horrible timing!
Almost did this, this morning. I will be wearing flats and walking as though I am in an old cartoon and sneaking up on someone for the next few days.
I think my biggest race day fear is that the margarita in Mexico may be one too many after my beer in Germany and whatever it is
@FFigawi handing out at the Boardwalk (tequila shots maybe??), causing me to pass out before the finish line
I...really kind of want to run the marathon next year. So long as someone provides all of the above.
FYI Osborne Light have been extended until January 6th at DHS.
One day. I missed by ONE DAY! So hey disney...Pixie dust? It's almost my birthday? Mickey would be proud?
we have stayed at an all start before for the tower of terror weekend , we where there for the first bus , about 30 minutes before schedule pick up , the lone up was huge by the time we loaded and left , some people were saying that we kind of get the shaft when it comes to number of buses so i would plan to be at the bus line up early , I knkow thats what my wife and I will be doing for the whole weekend during dopey since we are staying at the all start sports
Stayed at BC for the W&D half-half. Bus lines were CRAZY. Had the race not been delayed, we barely would have made it to corrals, and then only if we'd ran to them. And I was only halfway down the line waiting. The busses kept filling up at BWI and YC before finally arriving for us.
Quick question for the vets. My dad is having a last minute laparoscopic procedure this week but still insistent on coming to see me run on Saturday. I've convinced him at least that he needs to be in a wheelchair so he can at least not exert himself and risk exacerbating his injury. How helpful is the handicap services for Disney?
I know resorts has been mentioned, but I will add that getting a wheelchair in the parks is pretty easy. We did it a lot for my grandma midway through our days when she got tried and never had a problem.
What's funny is neither my Mom not I realized it was a near 9 hr flight to Orlando from London.
Flew from London just a month or two ago. There was an accident on the tube lines that ended up making me have to go in a circle on different lines. I made it to Heathrow for an international flight with maybe 45 min left, talked to the gate (props to United for that one) and they took my bag and told me to run since it was a couple terminals over. No human being has ever gotten through Heathrow that quickly. But even with all of that, it was a really pleasant flight

Safe travels!
I don't know why, but I am just not feeling the merch for this race. Maybe because my mind is already in dark side challenge merch mode and saying "take all my money - I have no idea what you will be selling - but I will take 2 of each."
If you're going to try something new, opt for the salt tabs over the Camelbak. They're unlikely to upset your stomach or cause any other GI issues. The Camelbak is going to change your posture & your gait if you're not used to running with one, a recipe for pain & suffering in the later miles.
I have been thinking of trying out salt tabs and seeing if they improve at all. If they aren't likely to upset my stomach perhaps I will give them a shot for this race since it will be warmer.
