I was just wondering what kind of impact the marathon has on the parks?

Thanks in Advance

Dave

Didn't the marathons start this weekend? If so, it's busy. We just left yesterday and was at Magic Kingdom until 5:30pm and it was packed. The wait lines were 30-60 minutes. I noticed at 3:30 when we were in line for IASW that Peter Pan's fastpass return time was 8:30-9:30 and most of the fastpass lines were already at late times. I was glad we were coming home because we didn't have long waits til then. I wonder how it will affect Soarin' at Epcot because it had 2 hour waits this past week. It was the only ride that had waits like that.

The marathons are in Jan.

We went to WDW during the marathons last year. We didn't notice any impact within the parks. We only noticed some very tired people riding the monorail.

However, we were late for our seating at Chef Mickey's because the marathon was partly on the roads and we were trying to drive from offsite by car. I think it probably would have been a bad drive even in a Disney bus. The traffic was terrible.

Thanks

That was what I was wondering, I can deal with the traffic situation with not a problem

Thanks again Dave

That's my understanding: Most off-season events external to the parks have minimal if any impact on the parks themselves. One notable exception seems to be the condo association meetings, but even that impact isn't overwhelming.
