I can't wait until next week at this time. The Dr. said he was 98% sure it was nothing but you still worry a little about the other 2%. I can't wait we are headed to WDW April 18th-25th I need the vacation after this year between Mom and this.
One of the PAs that I work with gave me a hint to avoid the "dreaded phonecall". And yes, why are they always on a day that you can't get ahold of the center and have to wait?
Anyway, have your physician request a "diagnostic" mammogram when they write your order. That way, you get the extra views and a radiologist is there to read it right away. No call backs and you have your results in hand.
Worth a try,
Edie

I hope it all works out.I had my annual mammogram Wednesday morning. My hospital has had digital mamms for two years now (this is my second digital mamm).
The Women's Care Center called the house yesterday afternoon. My daughter took the phone number to call back on Monday as they were closing at 3pm. You get a note in the mail one week after procedure saying it was ok or the tech will call within the week if any changes. So now I have to wait all weekend to see what the issue is. I haven't had problems in the past, but 16 years ago (at age 28) I under went radiation for Hodgkin's Disease. I have had my mammograms every year faithfully for at least 8 or 9 years and never had a problem.
I work in a dr office and we always book second looks etc...but you know...
I don't feel crazed, but I do wish it were Monday already.
That is what they do where I go. You also leave with a copy of the report. The last two places I have gone to (Calif. and Ark.) give you the results before you leave. Everyone sees the radiologist in person. Great idea.
I had my first Mammogram (baseline) on Thurs at the age of 35 because my Mom has Ovarian Cancer and that and Breast Cancer ar linked. What was to be a routine baseline ended with about 8 pictures and a 20 minute ultrasound and now a biopsy on Tues. at 2:30 because they see a lump on my left breast. Keep your fingers crossed and prayers. I know it could be nothing but I still worry. My office had a Dr. there to read them right away and they do that for everyone no waiting. It is nice.

Mine use to do this, but now, they send me a letter about 2 weeks later. The last two places I have gone to (Calif. and Ark.) give you the results before you leave. Everyone sees the radiologist in person. Great idea.

I would love that! I had one Tuesday and haven't heard anything yet.The last two places I have gone to (Calif. and Ark.) give you the results before you leave. Everyone sees the radiologist in person. Great idea.
Those tests are awful anyway and it would be nice to know right away.Does it strike anyone else as odd how many of these calls are made on Friday afternoon?
