So, if Fernando supposed to be her grandfather? If so, was he supposed to know who her grandmother was before she showed up?

We were discussing that too but he is supposed to be Spanish and Donna doesn’t appear to be at all half Spanish.

I finally got around to seeing it today. Overall, I loved it! Loved all the flashback actors and happy to see everyone else.

The one person/character I could have done without is Cher. Don’t get me wrong. I love Cher. But her character as the grandmother soured it a bit for me. So she is a big time Las Vegas singer? But she couldn’t be bothered with her family before?

We saw it for the 2nd time today. Loved it just as much. Maybe more because we knew all the songs this time.

Saw it last weekend with the cast of a production of Mamma Mia that I am currently in! Was lots of fun and the group loved it! Kind of fun to see the back stories of the dads! It was great hearing a number of the original songs mixed in with many other great ABBA songs that I was not as familiar with.

Super jealous that you’re in a production! I’m waiting for our community theater to jump on it, but we don’t choose next seasons shows until February. :-( What part are you playing?

Yeah, it's either "lets fabricate a way to bring Cher into the movie and sing a song!" or they are going for #3 with her and Fernando. They didn't make her role very likable.

I'm half Spanish and have two blonde siblings and countless blonde and red-headed cousins. We are all very fair with freckles. My Spaniard father had beautiful red hair. Spanish people are from Spain and look European. Maybe you are thinking of Hispanic which could mean people from many different Spanish-speaking countries.

Donna could definitely be half-Spanish but it's such a stretch for the storyline anyway.

I am in ensemble... which boils down to one of the old Greek babas in Money, partier in Super Trouper, Gimme and Voulez vous and wedding guest in I Do. We do a ton of offstage singing in this show. My favourite part honestly is the megamix of Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen and Waterloo at the end. So much fun!! We open Thursday!

Mine too. I did get callbacks for both Tanya and Rosie but got "out auditioned"! But, like you, I am just happy to be in the show so it's all good!!! Thanks for the "break a leg"!
