Mama Melrose

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything or eaten at mama melroses in MGM??
I was looking into eating there!

Hi Nicole,

We've eaten there several times and it's pretty good. Also it's usually not as crowded as the Prime Time and Sci-Fi because it doesn't have a "gimmick" and it's kind of tucked in a corner, out of the way. Here's their dinner menu:

We eat at Mama Melrose's almost every trip - it is one of our family's favorites!

It is decent food. Not great Italian food. Kind of on par with an Olive Garden or other chain Italian.

It is generally pretty quiet. We can usually just walk up & eat without a PS or a wait.

We ate there last trip for lunch while at MGM and we enjoyed the 4 cheese pizza. It was tastier than the usual counter service and we would recommend it.

We ate there last year and enjoyed it. We walked right in around 5pm and the place was empty except for maybe 2 other tables.

I ordered the Fra Diavolo with clams, calamari, mussels and shrimp, tossed in a spicy Marinara sauce over spaghetti rigati. It was so good but I remember so much. I couldn't finish it all!

It was a little $$$, but I think we plan on doing it again this year with the Fantasmic Dining Package.

I am trying it next trip. Can someone recommend a good entree ? I have never tried most things on the menu but I am adventurous. It always smells sooo good when we pass on our way back from Muppets3d. At first we thought it was just another part of the scenery and not an actual restuarant!!

We ate there on our last trip and were disappointed. We had just come out of Muppets and it was pouring, so we went in to escape the rain. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for Italian, but nothing looked that great. We were there at lunch time, and I thought the prices were quite high for lunch (just MHO - we typically do counter service for lunch).

We decided to split a salad and pizza. The server was visibly annoyed at our choice to split a meal and did not bring extra plates or anything. We had to ask for an additional plate for both the salad and pizza. Needless to say, he barely returned and never refilled our drinks. It was not that busy, so maybe he was mad that we didn't order two entrees.

Whatever the case, I was not impressed, and we will not be returning.

We ate at Mama Melrose last March. Food was good and on par with Olive Garden or Carabbas. We had pizza, salad, spagetti, and fettuccini alfredo. We were passing by, hungry, wondered in and were seated right away (just opened for the day).
Not heavily disney themed - straight italian decor.

On each trip to MGM,we've always had good service and food.Love the wood fired pizza.
