Making requests

Hi all,
Just rented points for BCV in September--can't wait! I checked on my reservation by calling BC directly and added a couple of requests. I now realize that there are a couple of things that I'd like to add but I don't want to be a nuisance....

Was I right in calling BC directly to make these requests? I asked for bedrails and a particular view but I would also like to add top floor and ask for a dedicated studio. I know that these are not guaranteed.

Thanks!

I didn't think the BC was even notified until a couple of days before arrival?

You can call the phone number on your reservation confirmation and have MS add them.

I suggest that you ask the DVC member who you rented the points from to contact Member Services and have the requests added to your reservation.

Thanks for your responses. I haven't received a hard copy confirmation yet as the ressie is so new. When I called BC, I gave them my confirmation number and it came right up on the computer. Now I am concerned about having made requests through the front desk!!!

DeeCeeSW... Don't worry. CRO sends the resorts a feed of the reservations 5 days before arrival. BUT, the resorts get the DVC reservations as soon as we make them.

Thanks, Terry. I just called Member Services and added a request. I have no idea why I was transferred to the front desk of BC the last time I called (I called BCV directly and was handed over to someone else), but it ended up working out fine because my prior requests had, in fact, been put in.

P.S. I was told that there is no such thing as a "dedicated studio." I asked two different ways, and this is what the CM at MS told me.

hm... i don't know why they said there is no such thing as a dedicated studio.

i know at BWV, dedicated studios are called "Studio Plus".

i believe BCV is supposed to have 36 dedicated studio rooms. the other 74 studios are lock-offs.

btw, i did not know that resorts get the ressie info right away when you make ressie through DVC Member Services.
that's interesting.
i always thought it was just like CRO, and resorts don't get ressie info until 5 days before the check-in date.

I know that there are dedicated studios and even though I asked TWICE, the CM at Member Services plainly stated that there are none at BCV. I did not question her. I will just call back in a few months (my trip is in September) and ask someone who (hopefully!) knows to please put my request in! Do people fax their requests to BCV like they do at the resorts?
