Making ADR Thread - hold times, IT vents, and general whine!

OMG, the same thing happened to me, making reservations for June was a one hour experience for me. My plan was to get my reservations made before the boys got home from school. All of you mamas know that when kids get home from school they are excited to tell you about their day, they want something to drink, and they are starving. Then with all of that excitement the baby wakes up, because she needs attention to. It was crazy to try and listen to the CM, take care of two hungry boys, and a baby. When I got off the phone I felt like I needed a drink and I don't drink. :eek:

You sound like me everytime I call!!! Keep the wine close! LOL
Can you imagine if they turned the ADR's into a drinking game! :rotfl2:
Everyone would be wasted after waiting an hour or 2 1/2 hours !!!:scared1:
The CM's wouldn't know what to do with everyone! :lmao:
 
WOW! The first time I called today it was too early and they were closed. I called right back and got through immediately! I ALSO got my LeCellier reservation!!!!!:dance3: :yay: :yay: After wanting to eat there for the last 3 trips and couldn't, I hope it lives up to its expectations!:rotfl: I didn't get the time I wanted, but who cares! Somehow the other day I ALSO got lucky and got some ADR's at the place in Norway for breakfast!:banana:
 
i got up early at 6:45, called promptly at 7 and was put on hold. someone answered at 7:25 and i asked for coral reef for the 18th of june and she said her computer was acting up, put me on hold for 5 minutes and said she would have to transfer me. she transferred me, i waited some more and a lady comes on and i tell her my reservation # and she says she doesnt need it to help me with dining reservations????????? it turns out she could only take reservations up to the 26th of may. i finally got someone at 8:15 and it turns out i got everything i wanted within 15 minutes of my times.:) :banana:
 

No horror stories from me.
Called at 12:35 (3/20), was talking with a CM in about 30 seconds (right after I answered the questions). Told her what I was looking for, times, and were flexible with the days. Took a total of 35 minutes total from when I dialed and when I hung up. All were within 30 minutes of requested time.

She said the biggest thing that helped is that we were flexible on days. I gave her our choices, and she decided what order to look. I have listed them in the order that she choose to find our ADR's.

Was ready with all kinds of back ups, etc. I was a very pleasant experience!!!

Just wanted to start off by saying that I'm greatful I got every restaurant I wanted and within 15 minutes of my preferred time (on all but one!)

I called at 5:03 am Mountain time - My call was answered by a live person at 6:45 am.

I was able to book:

Ohana - dinner on June 19
Liberty Tree Tavern - dinner on June 20
Rose & Crown - dinner at Rose & Crown June 22
Biergarten - lunch on June 25
Tutto Italia - dinner on June 26

After I finished these - I wanted to book the "Dining with an Imagineer" at the Brown Derby. The agent said that she couldn't help me and that I must talk to someone in "Event Booking".

The agent there tried to book it but said that she would help me find the correct person. She put me on hold for a while - she kept checking with me to see if I was still there. She finally said that she found the right place but that there was a long wait.

Finally at 7:45 am, my "event" agent said that someone would be right with me and she made a "warm transfer" to another dining agent. The "new" dining agent was able to help me but it seemed like she had to try different entries in reservation system before she found the one that worked.

All in all, it took 3 hours from the time I dialed to the time I had my reservations - but like I said earlier - I got everything I wanted and within an acceptable range of my targeted times.:yay::yay:

Today was my 90-day window, and of course I nearly forgot and didn't make it to the phone until 7:18 am. I was on hold FOREVER. I heard the loop of music three times, and my call was finally picked up by a CM at 8:48 am. I was *this* close to hanging up and bagging our plans for eating any TS meals. Once my call was answered, it didn't take long to make ADR's, but I was unable to get an ADR at Chef Mickey's on June 20. The earliest time they had available was 9:05 pm, and there was no way we'd be eating that late on our first night there, after having driven from PA! I went with plan B, which was dinner at 1900 Park Fare at 7:05 pm.

I was able to get my other two ADR's without much of a problem. We're on the QSDP this trip, so I only wanted two dinners and a breakfast.

I found it interesting that the CM reacted surprised when I told her how long I had been on hold :confused3 She was like "Really?? Wow!!"

So, after all of that, our ADR's are as follows:

June 20 (my birthday!): 1900 Park Fare 7:05 pm
June 23: Whispering Canyon Cafe 5:30 pm
June 27: Whispering Canyon Cafe 7:30 am (I had wanted 8 am, but this will be fine)
 
:cheer2:Congrats on getting everything you wanted. We have called a couple of times to make adjustments and we have been lucky so far! Have a great trip.
 
Wow, I was right there with you this morning! I called at 7:15 am and finally talked to a cm at 8:50! I got everything I wanted, so I really can't complain too much! I just put the phone on speaker and went about doing stuff around the house, I got lots of laundry folded :cool1:

I had the exact opposite experience. I called right at 7:00 AM. I was on hold for 12 minutes.

A wonderful CM answered at 7:12 AM and I was finished and off the phone by 7:42 AM (30 minutes). I had a ton of ADRs to make as we are on the DxDP for an entire week. Everything went smoothly and quickly AND I got absolutely everything we wanted at exactly the times we wanted.
 
I also had a great experience. My call was answered immediately and I was SHOCKED! It took 50 minutes to make 21 ADR'S.
 
I also had the horrible wait times today. I was on hold initially for about 40 minutes and had to hang up because I had other things I had to do. When I called back I was hold for about 35 minutes when a CM picked up and told me that she was on the old system and that the dates I wanted ADRs (6/20-6/26) for was on the new system and put me back on hold. I eventually got through and and then couldn't get an ADR for my first night at SciFi. There was nothing available between early afternoon and about 8:00pm. I've never seen anything like this. It's not like I was trying to get an ADR at CRT or Le Cellier. We always start our trips off with a dinner at SciFi and particularly this is my son's birthday. I was able to get an ADR for SciFi later in the week, but this was disappointing. I tried for an ADR around 5:00ish the same night for LTT and there was nothing available close to that time. When I was there a few weeks ago, LTT was begging people to come in to eat. Can the rumors of the characters coming back have made that much of a difference? The rest of the ADRs I booked, only a few were at the times I really would have liked. I've never experienced this before and that includes booking ADRs during the free dining promotions.
 
I called at 8:30 today and was on hold for 60 mins! I just wanted to see if I could either get an openning for Dinner or an earlier lunch time for LeCellier. I had a 2:45 time but I really wanted dinner. Of course dinner was still booked but I was able to get a 12:10 lunch time. Much better especially since we like to take mid day breaks in the hot summer months. But I was getting really annoyed waiting so long but at least I accomplished something.
 
We called today to add 1 ADR to our list (The Wave) and was on the phone for a total of 25 minutes. This was around 5:00 PM PST.
 
Today was my day to call, and I wasn't able to try until mid afternoon, around 3pm ET. I got right thru, no hold, and I was able to get everything I wanted, including CRT.

It took about a half hour as the CM said the computer system was slow and still had bugs, but I was glad it was slow moving as I had my notes written down and needed the time to go thru them.

Wow, reading some of this thread has been interesting. I am glad that I didn't expereince the long waits when I booked my ADR's. On my 90 day, I called and waited about 30 seconds and got everything I wanted at the times I wanted. :thumbsup2

I even called back a couple of times to re-confirm my ADR's and ask a couple of questions and never waited more than a minute. Just lucky I guess. ;)
 
I've been on hold for just about 20 minutes so far. Starting to get annoyed. I guess I was spoiled, because on our last vacation, I was able to get through and make ADR's right away. :confused:

I'm guessing it's the 90 day window - more people know what they want three months out. I was one of those people who COULD plan dining six months out and I think that those of us who could, had an advantage.

This stinks - I need to leave for an audition in NYC and each moment that passes means worse traffic and more of a back up at the Lincoln Tunnel! Ugh! Plus, my fave parking garage fills up quick! :mad: I'm gonna wait until 7:30, then I have to leave....
