Making ADR Thread - hold times, IT vents, and general whine!

I'm getting nervous too! The only dinner that I really want on our first night is CRT and that may be hard to get at 5pm. I may have to change that one to a later date in our weeks stay.

I'm still plotting and planning. I know where we want to eat but figuring out the days is the tough part. I also decided to get my dh a day at Universal's Islands of Adventure or Universal (2 day tickets with Mears transportation so I can keep the car!) I may have him go on the 24th since we have to pay OOP for T-Rex.
I did make an ADR for the 24th at T-Rex.
Oh decisions and I'm rambling!
 
I didn't have any trouble with any ADR other than Sci Fi. I got Le Cellier, Les Chefs, Tutto Italia, Narcoossee's, Crystal Palace, Primetime and Chef Mickey's. I think it'll be fine but don't be too rigid with your days. If you're willing to have alternate dates for a few select meals, you should be fine. If you think you have a few really tough ones to get, try moving them closer to the end of your vacation so there is less time that others might have gotten them ahead of you.

See this is what I don't think is fair. If people checking before you totally booked up a restaurant for your first few days it isn't fair. I think they should release a few tables each day until the full 90 day for a specifi date arrives and then release the rest. This will give everyone a fighting chance to get what they want on the days they prefer
 
We have called twice and have had long hold times of almost an hour each time but we have had little problem getting our reservations. We got everything within 30 minutes of our prefered time except for Le Cellier for dinner. The first time we called was for 1 week with deluxe dining. We have since changed to two weeks on the regular plan so we cancelled some from the first week and spread them out over the second week. Both of our CM's were amazing and we were patient and things seemed to work out. After listening to some posters I do believe that we were lucky. Just keep calling and hang in there and celebrate the fact that you will be at Disney! :cheer2:

I got through immediatly at 7am EST this morning. The woman was very nice..BUT explained that I am past her "window". What does that mean? I dont recall hearing anything about that kind of problem. She said she needed to transfer me to a different agent. Was there a different number I should have called other than 1(407)WDW-DINE?
 
That's the right number. Either take the transfer or hang up and redial so you get a different CM. I call tomorrow for ours and can't wait:banana:
 
I hope that guests calling and being rude will be a thing of the past soon...the new system was not brought on by the cast members, it was thrown in their laps. Complaining for the 1st 10 minutes of the call because you were on hold for an hour just makes another guest wait another 10 minutes to get through. There is lots of frustration on both sides.

The only way to access the new system for your 90+10 is..........

1. With a Disney resort confirmation #

2. With your last name, resort name and arrival date OR

3. With your last name, first name and zip code

If these 3 options do not work you will be able to book 90 days in advance and will not be able to participate in the +10. This is to protect those that really are staying on Disney property.

I had the exact same thing happened but I questioned him as to why he was transfering me and he explained that do to the high call volume of dining reservations, calls were overflowing to general reservations and they don't have the ability to reserve dining. I called twice and got the same answer both times and I am still on hold from the first call. Nice to have a cell and home line... I really was hoping for a quick reservation this morning... no such luck...
 
to be two different systems running currently one for pre May 25th and one for after May 25th. Different CMs appear to be using the two systems. There are a lot of reports on the board where people initially got a pre May 2th CM and had to be transferred and the delays came when the transfer took place. I have no idea if the initial script attempts to direct you to the right group of CMs.

I'm calling next Tuesday. Does anyone know if the prompts have changed to direct you appropriately?

Oh My Goodness, what a HORROR to be on hold that long......its the 90 day thing, I guess???

Meanwhile WHEN is Disney supposed to be updating this pre and post MAY issue with ADR's.
Anyone have any insight?? :confused3

I wouldn't hang up! I might try calling in with a different phone, but I wouldn't give up my place in the que.

I have called three or four times since my window opened and sometimes I get the recording with the prompt for dining after May 25 and sometimes I just get transferred to a pre May 25th CM. It seems like if I called first thing in the morning I got the CM. Later in the day, I got the prompt. :confused3

Don't hang up if you can. I went through this a couple of weeks ago and everyone that was on hold with me on the boards stayed on. We found out there was only a couple:scared1: of CM's there for the "after the window" ADR's and I myself was on hold 2 hrs and 21 minutes:mad: . All I needed was 1 ADR, hubby said the system is not very good. At least it snowed that morning and church was cancelled. The snow made it all better. :rotfl: From the posts I read after ours that day the hold time even got worse for a while.
 
Is it true that you can only make reservations up until your check out day even though it may not be a full 10 days from 90 days out?

Split stays is what I am referring too.

Can you call earlier than 7 to get into a queue or doesn't it work that way?

I am hoping to have a better experience when I try, we're going late aug, so I think thats end of may for us.....

I was able to get one with TINK in my hand at MK, had no idea until they told me to look surprised and then got the pix with TINK! So cute, one of my all time FAVORITE Pix!
I was told they do that particular pix only in mornings due to sun or something.
