When you say that we should always have a back up plan whan calling for ADR, what does that mean ?

is it other times or other restaurants if what you want is not available ?

because without park hopper it is not easy to juggle around
& what if only some restaurants appeals to us :confused3

My back up plan means switching my park days around...for June I wanted to go to Cali Grill and out of 4 nights only one opening for dinner was available so I had to move all my other dinners to other nights.

Also if you want Le Cellier for dinner and it is booked have another World Showcase restaurant on deck.....

My back up plan included being willing to switch times or even meals - lunch instead of dinner, as well as days. We do have park hopper, but really plan to eat in the parks we figure we'll be in on that day. I don't want to have to hop just for a meal - to go to a different park if the one we're in is too crowded, yes, just to eat - not really. I also had a second restaurant we would take if we couldn't get any time at my first choice.

The only second choice I had to take was Tutto Italia over Le Cellier. We could get Le Cellier for dinner, but a little too late for our kids to manage. I was also able to get most of the times we wanted, I think no more than 15 minutes out, but had to call in twice for a F! package and accept a really early dinner that day. Which is fine we still have snack credits to use.
