Makeup for Disney!

The name of the oil I was looking for (and posted by Astraltravel) is called Barlean's.

I didn't realize you should use your fingers with BB creams.

I recently purchase the Beauty Blender and I've been using that for most of my foundations. I love it.

Me either! I usually apply my CC cream with a sponge! Lol.

I have seen the Beauty Blender but it makes no sense to me! Lol. How do you use that thing?

I paid around $40 for 2 blenders and the cleaner.

It does seem geared towards liquid foundation, but I could be wrong.

Love this thread. I *thought* I was a makeup junkie until I saw some of the stock you girls have, hehe. I realize now I need to go pick up some more stuff. I have dry skin with occasional breakouts and use the following:
Nutriganics Smoothing Day Cream
Mac Mineral Concealer + VS Pro Camouflage FX Color Corrector (dark circles)
Maybelline Age Rewind Foundations (this is what I would like to replace with a BB cream and maybe a Makeup Forever product for when I need more coverage)
OR
Pur Minerals Powder Foundation
Bronzer
Ultra Brand Light & Dark shades of powder for contouring
Lorac Baked Satin Blush in Velvet Rope (I am looking for a new peachier/pink color though)
Body Shop Shimmer Cubes Palette 06 *I LOVE this tiny little set. I am a shadow junkie with UD naked palettes, Lorac, Tarte, TooFaced, ect. but this is my everyday go-to and the only one I take to Disney bc of its size.*
Tarte Mascara (I always wear this to Disney and haven't had a problem but it isn't waterproof)
Ulta eyeliner occasionally
Benefit Instant Brow Pencil in Light/Medium
Lips I just use some aquaphor and VS lipgloss

After reading this thread...can anyone suggest some improvements in my regimen or must haves for my dry skin?
I think I definitely want to try a BB cream, lip butter and the Urban Decay Dew Me setting spray.
I feel like my moisturizer doesn't really keep me moisturized and I think I need to get a sunscreen in there somewhere.

I am thinking about getting eyelash extensions before we leave for our trip and I was wondering if any of you girls here had them and how you liked them. They say you don't need mascara which I cannot even fathom bc I am obsessed with mascara. I wonder if you can still use it if you want. I have blonde hair/blue eyes and without mascara my eyelashes look pretty much clear so I am thinking this might be the best option. I have done the eyelash tinting before but didn't really make much of a difference.

Hi Alicia! I had always wanted to try eyelash extensions. My friend got them and they looked AMAZING. She didn't need mascara, but I hear you can still use it anyway. I know she complained about having to be super careful in the shower to not get them wet and to not sleep on them the wrong way. Also, I hear that sometimes your real eyelashes can fall off in the process of taking them off. So, although I have never tried them, I probably wouldn't since I am afraid or ruining the lashes I already have. If you need a good mascara, go for L'oreal double extend! If you're just looking for a lash to not put makeup on, I would just do the daily ones that you could glue on ;) I hope that helps a little!!

I am looking for a nice, light pink blush for the summer. Does anyone have a drugstore one they like? TIA! :)

I had eyelash extensions for 2 1/2 years straight and just recently had them removed. I loved them! I only removed them because the upkeep was expensive. You are not supposed to wear mascara with them and shouldn't need to. I believe with blond lashes they dye them first then attach black extensions. You do have to be very gentle with them, and definitely no eye rubbing! They do make special mascara for extensions if you MUST wear it because I think trying to remove regular mascara would be very hard.

Thanks for your input! I have tried the single and false lashes and cannot for the life of me get them to stay on. DH said if I want them, go for it...I figure as long as don't lose all my eyelashes (I guess worse case even if I do they should grow back, lol) that if I don't like them I will just let them grow out or have them removed. I have been looking at lots of pictures and the results are gorgeous! I still cannot fathom not wearing mascara but who knows. I am going to go next week and do it I think. I will try to get a before and after picture and post in here.

Also, I went and got some Garnier BB cream a little while ago so looking forward to seeing how I like that tomorrow. Going to hit up Sephora later this week and go crazy trying different stuff and hopefully getting some samples!

BLUSH RECOMMENDATION:

I have also been looking for a new blush. This is what I have found so far:

Pur Minerals- Polynesian Pink (a peachy pink color with gold iridescent)
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush- Glisten (peachy pink with some sparkle)
Milani- Dolce Pink (a peachy pink similar to Purs but not as expensive. You can get it from Target)

Hope you find a nice new color! :)

I was watching some of the Smashbox YouTube videos and they are applying the CC and BB creams with their fingers. Haha. Oops.

Yes to tubing mascaras!! I'm in love with Too Faced Lash Injection mascara. I just got back from WDW, and it held up all day, everyday.

As far as liquid eyeliner pens, I've been using Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner in black. This also held up all day on our trip. Yes, the eyeliner pens are prone to drying out, but if you store them horizontally, it will not be a problem.

I'm not a huge blush girl in the summer (but dying to try the deep throat) I do like the makeup put out by physicians formula ESP their bronzers and I have some of their blushes. Check them out! MAny of the blushes are the mosaics. Good quality stuff. :)

I now have 11 Lip Butters in my collection... but here is my dilemma. I tried three on and to me, they are essentially the same color :( The colors I bought were:

Creme Brulee
Sugar Frosting
Creamsicle

Has anyone else noticed the same thing or is it just me (or my lighting). Thanks for your replies! :D

If your natural lip color is a darker hue, then those light colors will wash out your lips and essentially look the same. My natural lip color is deep pink-mauve, and I find that Berry Smoothie Lip Butter with a Creme Brûlée overlay is the same shade as my natural lip color!

When we went last year, I was really concerned about the whole makeup thing. I don't typically go outside (:rotfl2:), so wearing makeup outdoors in FL heat was at the top of my concern list. I didn't want to spend an hour getting ready every day, or bring a ton of makeup.

I went with:

Smashbox BB Cream
BareMinerals Blush
Tarte Creaseless Concealer
Eyelash Curler
Ulta brand Waterproof Mascara
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner
& Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

For someone with oily, acne prone skin, it worked wonders for me. My skin looked even and glowing in all my pictures, even after water rides.

Yeah :/ I am a fair skinned mexican/white/american indian girl with a pinkish-brown colored lip. I think I will keep the creme brulee to put on top of some colors but going to exchange the other two. I'm thinking Raspberry Pie for one. Not sure about the other yet :confused3

Maybe Red Velvet?? Or, is that one of your 11? :thumbsup2
