Make A Wish Sends Lauren to Disney World! * IT IS FINISHED...* *Updated 1/28/09*

Finally had a chance to look at the Video.....I was in tears, it is so heartwarming and such a very special reminder or a truely magical time.

I loved it and Becca was enchanted by it.

Aw...I am glad that you liked it...but totally PUMPED that Becca liked it! Her trip is going to be just as magical! :) Woo Hoo!!

oh wow! I'm only on page 3 of your report, and I just read about the rainbow and I'm crying. What a spectacular thing to do for Lauren!!!! It's just so wonderful! Ok, I'll stop now and go back to reading.

Gosh I hate to make folks cry! :) It was a wonderful trip!!

I am definitely going to finish this TR in the coming week!! I need to start my new Pre-Trip report! :rolleyes1

I just read all of your tr so far. So good, made my eyes well up a few times.

Hi Maroo:

Have been following your trip report. I love it. The family is so lucky to have a gal like you to help out so much! Aidos to you!!! I cried few times!!!Despite the ups and downs the family and you have been through...the main thing is the wonderful and magical experience you all had at WDW!!! Can't wait for our first family trip to WDW in March '09 Waiting patiently for more news from you. Will be waiting with a bowl of popcorn::

Maroo....are you out there? Come in Maroo? Hello? Hello?

I guess no one is home?

I'd be wondering the same thing, except that I've seen her on other threads.

Maybe finishing the report would mean remembering the need to go home which is always a sad time. I can certainly see not wanting to write that part.

I hope you've been having a good time since then though.

lovely lovely job! thanx

Thank you!!! :)

Aw...I am sorry, I hate it when I make people cry. Except "good" cries, of course!

Thanks for your kind words. :) You are so sweet. We have had some significant ups and downs! You guys will have a BLAST in March 09! Especially if you spend time here getting all of the hints!

And more is coming...I promise!!!

Maroo....are you out there? Come in Maroo? Hello? Hello?

I guess no one is home?

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I am home! I have been around...just not on this thread...and I know I should...I know it! :)

I have written some of the ending...I just need to add some pics and post it. Which I really, really do plan to do...maybe even tonight. Unless some nice person invites me over to a New Years Party or something! :)

It is SOOOO hard to "end" the TR! I will be so sad. I feel like I am still ON the trip as I write it....so I have not come back home yet! :)

I have been "working" on some other stuff in the disboards. Been very fun helping some other Wish families, doing Big Give stuff here and there, and even started a new Wish Trippers Thread. It took some time to update those links. Then I got a new computer for Christmas and I have been formatting that. I have also been following some other TRs...which takes so much time, ya know!

But my "to do" list is getting shorter...and soon, I will update! And even end this trip!

I'd be wondering the same thing, except that I've seen her on other threads.

You hit the nail on the head! :) Makes me sad just to think about it!

I have had a good time...see the info above. :) Been busy...just not trip writing! :)

AND...I really, really want to start another PRE-Trip report when I am done...but I don't have dates yet! Can one start a Pre-trippie if no dates???? :confused3

After our dreamy encounter with Mickey :cloud9:, we headed down the Streets of America to see the Lights, Motor, Action (LMA) Show. On the way…I guess my friends sort of forgot my current wheelchair status, because I found myself on my own wherever we were. So I started pushing myself around. Which was HARD work! Lauren eventually saw me and offered me a “ride”…I was very confused. "Uh, I can't fit in your wheelchair!" :confused3 But she said, “Grab the handle on my chair and I will pull you around.” Ha ha ha. :rotfl: Yep! It was as funny as it looked. I was hanging onto Lauren and she was pulling me down the Streets of America. Until…uh…I hit a pot hole…and fell over. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Yes, you should laugh! :thumbsup2

Because it was completely hysterical!!!! :lmao:

I didn’t totally land on my face…but close enough for the guests around me to have some entertainment! And Lauren was totally cracking up! (After she made sure I was ok, of course!) I guess when I started laughing, she felt she could. :rotfl2:

We went and got seats for the LMA show. It was here that Lauren said how excited she was that I was in a wheelchair that day, too. She loved it! :confused3 She said that she was glad she could help me for a change. Bless her heart!

Here are some pics from the show. It was good…it wasn’t fabulous…but it was good.

Following the show, it was time to head over to our late lunch ADR at the 50’s Prime Time Café! We stopped by the First Aid rooms again on our way to let Lauren get out of her chair and rest a little. It did not take us long to get seated at the Cafe. It was not all that crowded. We scheduled this late so that we could sort of have lunch and dinner at the same time! Plus, we had such a late breakfast (Boma, yum!).

Here is Lauren enjoying her meal...

Our waitress and waiter were so funny! “Get your elbows off my table!”…”You better clean that plate! I don’t want any leftovers!” The banter continued all meal. Definitely egged on by Rick.

They were all so funny. Our only problem was that William thought they were all being serious…so he was all stressed…until we figured out why he was stressed and explained it was all a “show!” Then he settled in and enjoyed his meal. He really thought that they were all giving us a hard time.

I had a fabulous salad (now wasn’t that healthy?)…No, silly, I ate the salad so that I could have smores for dessert! Yummy!!

We will definitely do the 50’s Prime Time Café again and would recommend it to our friends!

With full bellies, we headed out. Our goal was to see “One Man’s Dream.” William was particularly excited about this and we had promised him yesterday that we would go! So we headed there first. But, alas…it was CLOSED! It closes early and had just been closed for a few minutes. We were so upset…so frustrated. I really don’t understand why they would close a ride hours before the park closes. :confused3 And they do that every day! Maybe someone can explain the reasoning there? We will have to catch that next time.

We headed over to the Backlot Tour (could not decide between that and Indiana Jones)…but ran into a few CMs on the way and started talking to them. They suggested we go to Indiana Jones instead. Time was getting away from us…so we took their advice and headed to see Indiana Jones!

William stopped and played with the Star Wars set!

When we got there, though, Lauren said she really was not interested in seeing Indiana Jones. She wanted to see the Muppets. We couldn’t do both. I was not sure what to do? :confused3 I really didn’t want to split us up again. But it was Lauren’s trip. And everyone else wanted to see Indiana. So, we did split up. Lauren and I went to see the Muppets and Rick, Lisa and William saw Indiana Jones.

The Muppets was uneventful. It was cool…one of those 3-D shows. But not something I would probably do again. Which was very unfortunate. Because the rest of the family LOVED Indiana Jones! In fact…they ended up using Rick in the show. Lisa was pretty upset that we missed all of that. And I was sad because, again, she didn’t take any pictures! :sad2:

Lauren and I did have fun, though, pulling me around while we were waiting for them to be done. I think folks thought we were totally crazy  with her pulling me around. And I could not agree more!! :rotfl2:

We ended our day at Hollywood Studios with the Star Tours ride. Actually, Lauren and I didn’t ride it. Lauren was afraid of the motion sickness and I was hurting so bad that all I really wanted to do was sit. So Lauren and I waited while they rode and then we headed out!

Up next? Well, we didn't know either!

One Electric Last Night

Thanks for the update!

I'm sure it would have been quite humourous to watch Lauren pulling you around. :)

Great update!! I love 50's, it is one of Bill's favorite places to eat. I think they close One Man's Dream early because people don't go to it later in the day :sad1: :sad2: . Everyone should go to it at least once, Walt is the reason we have WDW after all.

That's just odd to me. I think that later in the day is the perfect time to visit One Man's Dream. It's a cool, quieter place and a bit of a break from everything else (as well as a great experience).

It's like a got a present for the new year!

A Maroo update! :woohoo:

Hon, I appreciate that you can laugh at yourself. I had a similar incident one time when I was in college. Walking across a bridge, didn't see the ice all over it, feet went out from under me and I landed square on my but. And then I laughed, and laughed, and laughed. And a couple of girls walking by asked if I was okay, and I said yes through my laugh / tears.

And how sweet that Lauren was glad she could help you. What a dear!

I'm glad you liked Prime Time. I haven't been there in years, but we had a great time there once with my mom and my husband (who was my fiance at the time). They gave him such a hard time, it was a riot!

Thanks for the great update, I loved it! :goodvibes

YAHOO!!! A Maroo Update!!!:thumbsup2

That is a hoot with Lauren giving you a ride!!! :rotfl2: She sure has a heart of gold!!!
