Make A Wish Sends Lauren to Disney World! * IT IS FINISHED...* *Updated 1/28/09*

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that William's so sick. I'm glad they ruled out the "big" stuff and are making plans to keep working to figure it out.

I really hope that tomorrow's tests provide answers and allow him to start healing.

Still waiting to hear more news now that the weekend is over... Hope things are getting back to normal a bit too! Sounds crazy!

Sending prayers for William. :( Hate being in the hosptial over the weekend.

I know! :) Boring, right! But at least he was not sick, sick...ya know. He was feeling pretty good...just kept losing his vision off and on all day...YIKES.

Hello, Liesa! :) Yeah...it is still mid-morning in Mississippi, and they have not started the tests yet...so hopefully we will know something this afternoon!

Thank you for your prayers! :)

Hello, maroo :)

I read your TR last night, and I have to say...what an amazing trip! See, I'm a wish kid myself, so hearing about other wish trips is fun for me. I took my WDW trip when I was 6, so I don't remember too much of it now (I'm 15). GKTW is simply wonderful (they didn't have that putt putt course when I was there, and there were JUST building the movie theater). We, however, went in December, so we saw MVMCP. Lauren looks so happy on her trip! Can't wait to read more :)

Thank you! No major news yet. We are still waiting for the results of his last two tests. They DID let him go home last night...so I guess that is news!!!

We covet your prayers!

They are talking about changing some of William's medicines...but the ones they want to get rid of have really helped him...so, the doctors are "talking about it" for now.

I should have an update (of my TR) for you guys in the next couple of days! :)

And as soon as I hear from his Mom, I will post something here and on the Wish Trippers thread.

When I messaged you earlier I had not seen this update. Hope all is OK with William. It really sucks to be there. I have spent more time than I would wish on anyone in that very same hospital. I hope they find the answer soon. It sucks waiting. I will be hoping for the best!!!:)

Just checked Noah's site also. Sounds like a slight improvement???? I am so hoping he does a big turnaround for all of them! We will keep him in our prayers !!!

Hello Maroo
I haven't been on the disboards in a while, but finally have time to catch up. I was so enjoying it (I love the video) until I read about William. Poor Guy. I do hope the docs figure out something soon. You, he and the whole family are in my prayers. Bummer of a way to spend the last of his Christmas vacation.
Lisa

Have you any news about William yet Mary??

What tests are you all waiting on? I hope it is good news once you finally get them.

Mandy

Thank you all for praying for William. The official word is that he has atypical migraines. Which is good news. His EEG and MRI was normal except for sinus problems. Thank you guys!!!!! He is going to school tomorrow!

I'm glad he's doing good!

Some bit of personal experience... two of my boys have seizures. They are controlled by medicine.. nothing we can't handle. However, their EEG's (for both of them) have NEVER shown seizure activity. One of my boys' MRI was also normal.

So, if problems continue again.. I thought I would share my experience.

I'm glad he's going better now though.

whew that he can work with. Wonderful news. Thanks for updating!

What a fantastic trip report! I spent the past two hours reading thru it all.

I think it is wonderful that you were there to help your friends (family!) enjoy a trip of a lifetime.

The make a wish foundation is a very important charity. It has not touched me personally, but two people that I know.

a) a friend of my ex's family: their daughter was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. She was born not even 2 months after my daugher...so she just turned 5. She received her wish this fall....she asked for a beautiful garden. And so their yard was designed and turned into a beautiful oasis.

b) my boss: their son was diagnosed with cancer at 9months. He passed away May 2007. Earlier that same spring, he had his wish granted....and it was to go to WDW.

Whatever the dream, whatever the wish, the make a wish foundation does what it can to help these sweet angels have something special, something to help them forget, even if just for a day, the struggles that they have every other moment of their lives.

I hope to see more "wish" trip reports...plus it will make more people aware of just how important these trips are!

I look forward to your next update.

Goodness!! Thank you SO much for sharing that with us!! We are a little nervous because they want to take him off a medicine that has finally helped with some other stuff...to stop the migraines...so they are sort of "arguing" about it. So...they are really not in agreement about how they should be treated...pretty frustrating.

What kind of seizures are they? The petit mal kind? I am not sure if I am spelling that right!

Aw... thanks for reading it!! :) I hope to finish it THIS WEEKEND!! :woohoo:

We did have a trip of a lifetime!

You are so right! And you said it so eloquently!

I have met so many wonderful Wish families on this board. Their stories are so touching...and their wishes being granted is so awesome!!

Anyone reading this can certainly donate to MAW (Make a Wish)...

www.wish.org

Or another wish foundation in your area.

Actually...there are a LOT of wish trip reports out there...they tend to get overlooked in the big TR area...and some are not even ever moved from the Pre-Trip report section (many families don't start a new thread)...

But...If you want more Wish Trip Reports...We have some for ya!!!

Check out this thread...

Oh, I know...And crazy to think we have all stayed in that same hospital! Waiting is the worst part...I guess unless you get that dreaded diagnosis...and then the whole thing is awful! Which you know much better than me...

So prayers coming your way as well!!

Just checked Noah's site also. Sounds like a slight improvement???? I am so hoping he does a big turnaround for all of them! We will keep him in our prayers !!!

I know...what a precious boy...and what a precious family!!

I hope they post more news, soon, though. I got used to my daily updates! Now I am spoiled!
