Guess what!? We are going back to the World!!!!

Things have been kinda crummy lately and Brian and I were talking the other day about how nice it was to have something to look forward to while we were planning Sebastian's Make A Wish Trip.

So....We decided to use some of our tax refund moolah for a Disney vacation.

We booked Septemeber 26th through October 4th at Coronado Springs (is it nice there????) We chose it for the pool.

But my *favorite* part is FREE DINING!!!!

I went to make ADRs b/c I am determined to get CRT this time and they changed the sytem...can't book until late June. Oh well.

**I also wanted to thank everyone who has mad etheir way over to my blog (Life Love & Laundry) and offered all your prayers, love and support for me and my brood. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate it!!!

The friendships I have made through this very thread are a treasure!! I love you guys!!! **

Anyway, MY Wish Trip got approved today!!! I am going to do an Adventures By Disney trip to California to see the Jim Henson Studios, the Walt Disney Studios, and Disneyland. I also get to meet Donna, my "Disney friend" for the first time. I am so excited!!!! This is a year and a half in the making, ( ) so I am happy to be getting this show on the road!

Sorry we missed your post! How exciting to be going on a multi stop wish trip! Are you interested in animation (Henson Studios, Disney Studios)? I lived in So. Calif. from 1979-1989. I went to high school and college there. I made multiple trips to Disneyland during that time. My parents lived there for 10 more years, so when we would visit we would head to Anaheim. I haven't been there since the new park opened up. I do know that one of my favorite snacks there is next to what used to be the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House (but I think it is now Tarzan's tree house). There is a food stand there that serves skewered bbq items. My absolute favorite is, get ready, you may think this is gross, is asparagus wrapped in bacon with a teriyaki sauce on it. It was awesome! (and inexpensive). The other thing I love about Disneyland is the silhouette artist on Main St. I know there is one in WDW, but I didn't come across them when we were there. They will mix your silhouette in with Disney characters, or with other family members. I have awesome ones of my oldest 3 kids,

Wow...this thread is moving fast these days!!! We have done over 10 pages in 7 days.

I guess we are just a chatty bunch! We have had a lot of kids to be concerned about, and then good news reported about those kids, just recently though, so that does get us talking.

Travel agent called. We could not get Coronado after all. So we'll be at All Star Movies....we requested the Toy Story section for a certain little boy who loves Buzz Lightyear!

Well, tomorrow is the big day for us! We get picked up in a limo at 5:45am. We are so excited. We are all going to wear our Make a Wish t-shirts, but we didn't get any buttons? Should we have gotten buttons? We will arrive around 3:00pm and just hang at the GKTW until Friday. I hear it's Christmas on Thursday!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what beach to go to? We are going to see the ocean, as none of my kids have ever seen one. We're not so lucky as we are surrounded by land and ugly lakes and a couple of rivers.

As far as stroller rental....do these strollers have a place to put your bag, or bottles of water in? I'm worried that I will be so lucky to carry everything throughout the whole day.

Pray for us to have a safe flight, noone gets sick, we have a blast, and we don't get fat from all the ice cream. I can't wait till I'm able to share our experiences.

As far as the strollers as DW they have cup holders and a little area i the back for bags. I don't know about the other parks.

Question about GKTW.

My youngest son Aidan will be 2 in June and still sleeps in a crib. Does GKTW have accomidations for him? The only other option I would have is to let him sleep with me in my bed which would be fine but I would get no sleep. And something tells me with 3 young children that I am going to need my sleep.

In our villa there was a crib and a roll away in the closet of the second bedroom. I think you may have to assemble the crib though...I can't remember. The sofa also folds out into a queen sized bed so he could sleep in the middle there.

Not everyone gets MAW buttons. I think that varies from chapter to chapter. Your shirts will do just fine

We didn't go to the beach. (I grew up in the gulf coast and So. Cal and we didn't feel the pressing need to go.) I think you still get free admittance to the Kennedy Space Center (Cape Canaveral). You can see the ocean there... I am sure the people at the desk can give you advice on that.

I think there is a back pocket on the stroller, but I can't remember...checking my pictures now..., yes there are two mesh pockets, but they are not very deep. I hung my backpack and camera case on the stroller with medium sized orange clamps, they are called "cable cuffs" that I got at Home Depot for extension cords. When the kids get out of the stroller, and the backpack is still attached, it may tip over, so be careful.

Have a wonderful trip, and enjoy every minute (even the fattening ice cream ones...especially the fattening ice cream ones!)

AWESOME!!!!! Once he's there he'll be glad of the extra time ya'll had because of those flight times!! My DH was wishing they would have been earlier going and later leaving AFTEr we got home. Before we left he didn't care for the times!!

I'm hoping he will have a good time, I think part of his problem is Asperger's (not liking change and being rigid) and part of it is his depression. But, I'm hoping some Disney's magic will rub off on him early in our trip.

Oh wow...we had a very early limo ride as well. Try to sleep the night before, but if you are like us, we were too excited to sleep!

We went to Melbourne Beach while there. It's incredibly easy to get to and it only took about 45 minutes. We chose that one, because we wanted to only do half a day at a beach and still spend a few hours at Sea World. It worked out great for us. In your Village Guide that you will receive at orientation, there is a section that lists five different beaches that range from 45 minutes to 2 hours away. It gives specific directions on how to get there. Loved my Village Guide...

Prayers lifted up for you. As an aside though, we walked what seemed like miles and miles and miles every day and when I came home I HAD GAINED NINE POUNDS1 I just KNEW I had to have lost a least ten with all of the walking around we did. WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENED? ur...ummm.....perhaps too many trips to the Ice Cream Palace...

I just wanted to give some advice on Christmas at GKTW, make sure you get in line to see Santa FIRST, cause if you wait until after the little parade goes by, than you can be in a long line for quite sometime, than you miss otherthings.

We waited at least 35mins before we got up to Santa,,,and when we got in line, we were just inside the door....so get their early...

I hope you have a great time. I have found that having 2 kids with CF, if I don't have something to look forward to life just seems to be too much. I have to have somewhere fun to focus my attention and what is more fun than a trip somewhere?

You won't need any buttons. They will give you the major button when you get there!

Christmas will be so much fun!

I would ask a local about the beach...I am not sure on that one!! But take lots of pictures when you are there!!!

There is a little bag of some sort on the stroller, but you will probably need a backpack to carry your stuff from the car to the park, etc. And you will probably want more stuff than you can put in that little bag.

And NO CALORIES count on a wish trip! They just melt away!

This is great advice! I will try to add it on here somewhere...I have a LOT of hints to add!! (I need to do that.)
