Major Announcement Secret is Out! Press Release Page 12

Before I head off for the day, I thought I would post a dream for Disney to consider. First, I think the first person to enter the sweepstakes should be given a dream come true (unless they win the sweepstakes). By the way it wasn't me. Secondly (time to be greedy), as we know that the Disboards are probably the best board for all things Disney, and it appears that I was the first to find Disney's new site, make a small :lmao: dream come true for me - how about upgrading us to the Royal Asante Suite for our 30th anniversary. Third, got to get lots of help from tink for this one, :tinker: :tinker: grant everyone reading their dream come true! :tinker: :tinker:

Hopefully there will be something more to this than just a few odd and end sweepstake prizes, in which chances of winning are so remote. I'm hoping that something will come out of this that will benefit everyone, such as something to do with their ticketing system, fastpasses, etc.

I would guess this is just a minor celebration that will lead into next year's bigger one - Epcot's 25th. The timing seems to be right, 10-1 to 10-1, since Epcot opened on 10-1-1982 (I think)

anyone know when the actual press conference is to be held? I heard it was tonight at 6pm or something...just wondering if that was true.

What exciting news!

beattyfamily, thanks for posting the info for those of us who didn't want to install flash.

Yup, it's true!

ohhhhh.. i am sooooooo excited, we are going in Nov. so i am dying to see what is going on!

Since no one else has said it--
OP YOU ARE A GENIUS!!! :worship: to think to put in that phrase as a URL is very smart thinking! Thanks for sharing!

I am very excited--but our next trip is for Free Dining and we leave Disney the 27th of September--BUT we are supposed to be going back with Grandma in May of 07 so we should be able to enjoy whatever is planned.

As for my Disney Dream. . .

I already got it! :wizard:

I had dreamed of going to Disney World for years and was finally able to take our "Once in a Lifetime, First and Final" trip several years ago. I absolutely loved the entire experience and seeing the World and sharing the time with my 2 little girls and my mother. :lovestruc

The next part of my dream came true about 2 days into that trip when my very frugal and cynical non Disney husband started saying "The next time we come we should. . ." NEXT TIME???? He had said one time only and never again! As you can see from my siggy, that ONCE in a Lifetime trip has already turned into 3 trips with 2 more planned. And both of the other 2 trips have been suggested by my husband--once for my birthday and the other because Disney sent an email with a PIN that he told me we would be crazy to pass up! DH is still not a "Disney" guy, thinks I am nuts for all the time I spend here, and doesn't quite "get it", but loves to make our daughters and me happy, and loves that we love it. And he realizes there really is not anywhere else that we can vacation that is so easy for him (no driving, parking, etc...) and that we can all enjoy together. Walt's true vision.

We have had magical times on all our trips, either of our own doing or by the actions of CM's or others. While I welcome anything else Disney would like to do to make our trip more magical, for me the Dream is already happening. As long as nothing happens to change our plans for our May trip which will the chance to share the Magic with my MIL the Dream will be almost complete. The only other wish will be for an "adults" only trip for DH and I--and Disney can't help with that since the only thing standing in our way is waiting for the kids to grow up, and I don't want to rush that-- I can wait!

:disrocks:

According to the Unofficial Guide, Special Fastpasses can be inserted into any fastpass machine and instantly given a fastpass with the current time printed as the return time. This special fastpass can be used an unlimited number of times. I'm guessing this is the Golden Fastpass that the site speaks of. The Unoffical Guide goes on to say that many Fastpass extras will be available soon according to resort category and room category. So basically if you stay at GF in a suite and purchase the platinum package, you'll prob get a Golden Fastpass.

Otherwise, Disney resort guests will get bonus Fastpasses, double Fastpasses etc.

Boy, do I love that Unofficial Guide.

We are heading down for the I Survived Cancer Victory Tour Sept 9-15 so that's too early but I signed up anyway. I'll be happy to go again! Is there a limit to how many times we can enter?

My Disney Dream:
10 days in the very best suite the GF has to offer for Dh and I, parents, siblings and their families :grouphug:
Free dining in any restaurant on property (no ADR necessary)
Town car service from door to door, no standing on busses after a long hot day! :moped:
Golden Fastpass that includes the option of riding again without getting off if we want :teeth:
Of course, air fare and round trip limo service :moped:
A behind the scenes tour to see the inner workings of attractions like POTC, HM and SM. popcorn::

If you're gonna dream, dream big huh? :thumbsup2

By the way is anybody else tired of sweepstakes for 4? We are a family of 5 and I can't tell you how many sweepstakes/contests that leaves us out of.
Oh well...we'll just have to make our own dreams come true!

First, congratulations for your sucess with beating your illness. My best wishes for continued sucess! Can you explain more about the "tour" and select time you're going to Disney? Is that a well known time to go for cancer survivors? I've never heard of it before. I've been trying to get my mom to come with us for our Sept. trip - maybe that would help! Thanks!

I'm in! I'm in!!! I have been singing "I've Got a Golden Fast Pass"!!!

How I would love to stay here!

Does anyone know , how many times can you enter the sweepstakes?

I think I just entered 4 times. I hope I didn't just cancel my entry by trying more than once. I didn't mean to do it, I was trying to read the sweepstakes rules but it wouldn't let me, it just kept entering me in the sweepstakes. If I just messed up my entry, I'm gonna have to enter using a different profile.

It's getting harder and harder to be a moron.

I don't know if the sweeps is for 4 (probably is), but don't let that stop you from entering! Usually, especially with disney trips, they will allow you to add extra people on at your expense. So, it would mean paying for one additional person. I recently won a trip to disney for 4 but thankfully my little one doesn't count yet since she is only 18 months. However, with the info they sent me, it gave specific information about adding extra people on, so it is usually possible.

Oh thank you OP for posting this info!!!! We will be there in Nov and I can't wait to get the full details on this new celebration!!!

My Disney dream would be at least 10 days in a MK view Tower room at the CR. Free dining without restrictions and about $500 in Disney dollars to use for water sports or the spa. Maybe even a couple of pins thrown in for good measure, or at least a bunch of plain old mickey ones I could trade with CM's. I'm not "greedy" ;)

but if I WERE going to be greedy...make it TWO WEEKS in the Concierge level at CR MK view. A golden Fastpass for the duration, free dining, unlimited use of all water sports, a $1000 in Disney dollars, private time in the parks with the characters for autographs and riding the rides as well as apersonal photographer to follow us around and document the trip!
