Hi all - I'm the OP and I have a comment that may :stir: . Do any of you also think Disney dropped the ball by having a world wide theme of "Where Dreams Come True" supported by a contest that is limited only to residents of the U.S.? I hope details come out today regarding the Disney Dream Giveaway that will excite the rest of the world because the sweepstakes doesn't.

Yes. I understand where you're coming from completely. I was very suprised to see that this is limited to US residents only! I don't understand why they would do that.

There's GOT to be something else to it.

What a dream come true.... cross fingers, cross toes, cross legs, cross eyes, sprinkle pixie dust, wish on a million dandilion spores set free on a summer breeze, wish on a four leaf clover, rub my lucky rabbit foot.... ect ect ect...

I hope a disboard member wins if it cant be me!

good luck to everyone and thanks for the update!

I got in!!!! :cool1: Got server too busy the first couple times! I think this is great! My dream would be a suite at the GF for 10 days!!!!! :rotfl:

We're getting a little off topic here, but as a sidebar:

I'm pretty sure that the 'something else to it' is the law. Back in the day, sweepstakes were loosely regulated, and rife with fraud. So the USA has some very strict laws regarding sweepstakes and such. If you take a look at most, if not all, entry sweepstakes, you'll see similar wording, about who may or may not enter, and usually, legal resident of the USA is one of the stipulations. It's not Disney's call.

We are the world, indeed - except when it comes to the law of the land. And although they are worldwide, Disney is an American company. And that's OK with me, and if you think about it, with you too - everyone, no matter where they live, loves their country best, whether it's the USA, Canada, the UK, or any other - and as we do not expect to be governed by the laws of another country, so too should other countries not expect or want to be governed (or in this case, shielded) by the laws of our country.

:confused3 I am trying to register on the website, I put all the information in the spots with the * and for some reason it keeps going back to the registation page and i can't figure out why

Its too bad about the sweepstakes, but that only refers to a free family vacation as a prize. So there is still the rest of the promotion to get excited about, the golden fastpass, the private dinners with a princess, spending a night in the castle ect. Its seems as though those prizes will be open to any resort guests (since it doesn`t state otherwise, and none of these other prizes are listed in the description of the prize in the official rules of the sweepstakes). And who knows maybe there will be separate contests in each country.

Unbelievable!

Thanks for this - looks fantastic! Now I have to plan another trip for next year! :yay:

Good points. I don't usually think about the darn legal stuff.

I just entered! :cool1: DD6 would flip out if we got to spend the night in the castle.

As it is The Year of a Million Dreams, I would expect that Disney will be having apx. 2739 winners a day divided among the 8 different types of 'parks' that they list.

There is something else too it. I think there is some confusion over what is being offered here. The way I read it, the promotion/celebration is open to EVERYONE. I think that everyone one has a chance at spending a night in the castle, or a private dinner ect. Disney is using the sweepstakes, as a marketing tool to promote/advertise the celebration the in the States ( the prize for this is just a family vacation). I`m sure they would use similar promotions/sweepstakes in other countries to promote the when dreams come true celebration. Its seems to me that ALL resort guest get a chance at the other prizes ( I assume would find out when you check into a resort if you won something or not.)

I Tried to register and it asked what country, I said Canada and then it brings a drop down with the provinces, but no Ontario, every other province, but no Ontario. An oversight or what? When we go to Disney every March
Break I see more Ontario license plates than any other. :confused3
