Since tuppence did part 1 and 2, I figured I'd do Part 3.

Ok, so now we are at October 22nd, better known as.. "My Birthday!" :teeth:

We do our normal morning routine and my brother and his wife met us at our hotel and we then made our way back over to MK right around opening. As we passed thru the turnstiles we noticed that Alice, the Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum had a bunch of kids (and some adults) in a large circle dancing. We watch and videoed a little (sorry no pictures) and then headed into Main Street.

We decided to ride all the "mountains" so we started with Splash Mountain figuring there wouldn't be a wait at 8am! We were right. We walked right on, and yes... I got soaked!

Afterwards, my brother and SIL had to go get their photos taken for their APs so they went and did that while tuppence and I went and rode the Haunted Mansion Holiday again. Afterwards we met back up and went over to Space Mountain to get fastpasses. We then headed over to one of my favorites (Astro Blasters):

We then went to ride the teacups:

Hrmm... that's a lot of blue!

By this point we were a little hungry so we went to the Coca-Cola place and split a footlong hot dog and a Mickey pretzel. It was a little chilly out, so we then looked around in some of the shops at sweaters. As we were walking up and down Main Street we met the Mayor and the Dapper Dans and they posed for Tuppence to snap a pic:

From there we headed back to ride the Matterhorn, then over to Big Thunder Mountain. At BTMRR the CM saw my birthday sticker and let us go thru the fastpass line! We then headed back over to Fantasyland and road Mr. Toads Wild Ride, then caught part of Merlin's show. After that, we started heading towards Tomorrowland and walked up on Mickey climbing the Matterhorn:

Right after the show we noticed that Push was over at the edge of Tomorrowland and the Hub. Push wished me a Happy Birthday and told me I was OLD!!! It was pretty fun and that area is also where all the characters come out. We saw the Queen of Hearts, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Mad Hatter, the Mayor of Main Street, Aurora, Merlin, Peter Pan, Snow White, and Alice.

We then went to Space Mountain to use our fastpasses (what a great ride!).
By that time the fastpasses for Space Mountain were already at 8PM so we grabbed another fastpass to do that again later that night.

Then it was time to head over to the Birthday Party! I had read about this on the boards here and saw a brochure while we were there. We checked with a CM one day while we were at DCA and she said that adults go to it all the time so I decided to make ressies for the 4 of us. So off we went to the "Happiest Birthday Celebration on Earth!". This ended up being a lot of fun. When we sat down we received some birthday sippie cups with fruit punch. Then Patrick Edward Cake (Pat E. Cake) came out to host the party! He was rather funny, sang and danced... even rapped a little.

Then came the birthday cakes. Everyone got one and we were given 5 minutes to decorate them with the icing and candies in the mickey mouse dish. Of course everyone is a winner, but tuppence had the best cake at our table (IMO):

After we ate the cake it was time for Mickey and Minnie to make an appearance. They came out and everyone sang happy birthday, then time for photo ops:

From there we went to catch the parade (again). Except this time we were going to video the parade and wanted to get the castle in the background, so we went over to where Tomorrowland runs into the Hub. It was a pretty good viewing area (although I still preferred the area across from It's a Small World).

After the parade we went back to the hotel and we made my brother take us to In-N-Out Burger for lunch! MMMmmmm.... we need those on the east coast!

Tuppence and I headed back to MK just around 7pm and we caught the parade again (just couldn't get enough of it). After the parade we went over to use our fastpasses at Space Mountain.

Immediately after riding Space Mountain we figured we had better go get a spot for the fireworks. Woah, we had NO idea there were going to be THAT many people lined up so early for the fireworks! The hub was PACKED, but we ended up finding a spot over on the Frontier/Adventureland side of the hub. The fireworks were great!

Right after the fireworks we herded over to Fantasmic with the rest of the folks. We decided to stand and watch the show so we were at the ropes and when they dropped the ropes to allow folks to get over in the sitting only areas, we were able to move over to center stage and be in the front row of the standing section. We had a great view of the show.

Fantasmic was great as always! After the show we did some last minute gift shopping on our way out, then it was back to the hotel to finish packing since we had to get up at 4am so that we could leave by 5am to head to LAX for our flight the next morning!

We have plenty more pics, so I'm sure we'll be posting some of our favorites once we go thru them all.

What a great birthday! :teeth:

What a great ending to a wonderful vacation! Isn't it amazing how the parks can seem uncrowded yet when the fireworks are approaching, there are what seems like 50 million people all around? Happy belated birthday - your party looks and sounded like a lot of fun, congrats :flower: Thanks for sharing (both of you :) ) - I enjoyed the trip reports.

Great report! I enjoyed reading it. It makes me excited for our trip coming up the first week of December!

I'm glad you had such a great time and a terrific birthday! :flower:

Thanks for the great reports and the pics - I've loved reading them all! There are so many things in DL that I don't know about - the birthday cake party is so great - wish they had that in WDW !!! :smooth:

I finally got to see the Mickey/Matterhorn 50th "show" about a week ago. Was a nice addition for the celebration this year. The cake picture also reminded me about the time I took my cousin to the birthday party. I ended up singing the birthday song for about a week. Just couldn't get it out of my head. :rotfl:
