We are going to World!
This trip was originally planned to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, DS graduating HS/going to college and DD graduating middle school. All of which happened to fall in the same year. But of course that was during the bleak times of Covid, so it never happened.
Me: All around planner. Life-long early riser and Disney enthusiast and only vegetarian in the group.
DH: Generally very easy to please, has a go with the flow kind of attitude. DH likes to sleep in. His favorite Disney movie is Lion King. His only real requirement for life is breakfast. Fill him full of iced coffee and watch the dad jokes flow forth. DH has a soft spot for Disney villain's.
DS 20: Loves all things Star Wars and generally considers himself a bit a geek. DS is very focused and total planner like his mom. His favorite Disney movies are Hercules and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. DS loves to see all they ways in which Disney uses technology and engineering. Normally a very picky eater, except at Disney world when he becomes adventurous and willing to try anything, as long as it isn't spicy.
DD 16: Next up we have DD who has never seen a Star Wars movie in her life, much to her brothers disgust. She is 16 technically 15. But it will be close by the time we go. She is the artist and has an incredible talent. Her dream is to illustrate/Animate for Disney some day. DD takes more after her dad and isn't inclined to plan anything, ever. But is way more likely to have opinions. You are unlikely to find her awake before noon on a weekend. Her food tastes are the spicier the better. Her favorite Disney movie is Princess and the Frog.
In addition to all the things we were suppose to be celebrating, DD was suppose to get a middle school senior trip with her friends that never happened. DS got to go when he graduated middle school but the school cancelled when it was her turn because of the pandemic, so its been a sore spot with DD ever since. Therefore we decided that DD gets the deciding vote/veto for the duration of this trip. Buckle up. I just put our vacation in the hands of a very changeable teenager.
All 4 of us are excited that we have no little ones with us this trip. No little nieces or nephews tagging along. While we love their wonderment, it will be our first time going where everyone in our party is tall enough to ride everything, and there are no strollers and such to contend with. DH and I are especially excited that our two are old enough to go do their own thing and came and go as they please.
Up next: Where should we stay?!
