Magical Memories of a Double Dip 9/27-10/4 - updated 10/16 w/pics

So, really hoping that since Beverly Hills Chihuahua is premiering why we are on the ship, that they will show it onboard popcorn:: . That looks hilarious :lmao:

Since hubby and I are working on our MBAs and working full time, this trip is really something we are looking forward to. Bummer is I found out that one of my teachers isn't feeling too generous so I will have to log on and submit things during the trip - oh well, guess if I have to do a quiz :surfweb: anywhere, there is no place like the big blue ocean:teacher: !

My kids want to see the movie too. That would be awesome if they showed it!

I will be doing my homework on the cruise too :sad2: Do you have a laptop or are you going to be at the computer stations? I don't have a laptop so I will be there. Hope it's not to loud because I have a test I have to take too.. :headache: Congrats on all your hard work too.. an MBA that's great!!

Sorry, you didn't get Palo. Keep checking. I checked around 9 or 10 at night and got it one night.

I have a laptop so will probably be doing a mix of in room on the deck - but sometimes I do stop by the stations during the day when it is a little more quiet. I am trying to get as much as I can done but unfortunately there is just no way to get it all done ahead of time :sad1: Oh well, I guess if I had my pick of a stuffy library or a big, gorgeous ship I will take the ship any day! :lmao:

I think I read they are upgrading the computer stations in the Cove - you might check there too. I can't wait to see any of the changes to the Magic :cool1:

Okay, so you are not going to believe this coming from the queen of procrastination herself - but I am almost completely packed - FOUR DAYS BEFORE DEPARTURE. :lmao: Its amazing how nice it feels to be almost done...now the bad news. As I gathered my FE stuff, I discovered I was a little light on the boys stuff - girls, I have MORE than enough for, but boys....:rolleyes1 So that means after my bible study tonight I will be rushing to the store to try to find some goodies. :sad2: Should haven't known something would be missing! Oh well at least it isn't Thursday when I figured this out!

One more piece of good news, found my dress from last year's formal night. So since DH decided he wanted to get all fancy so close, he gets to see the same dress again :lmao: Oh well, I love that dress anyways. Well back to work - I will check in again later.

I had to do the same thing... a few times for my fish extenders LOL

OMG im so excited.. Yet keep feeling like im forgetting things Im sure I will! LOL

It feels good to be packer huh! I am packed too, but I always have this bad feeling that I am forgetting something :confused3

So I told my cruise thread, I have GOT to stop shopping for this cruise. I needed some additional "stuff" for the fish extender boys on my list. So innocently :rolleyes1 I make a "quick" stop at Walmart. :headache: Why is it I find everything I have been looking for but substituted 3 days before I leave? :confused3

Anyways among my new "booty" I found the best pirate hat - looks very Jack Sparrowish for only 6.50 in the Halloween section. I highly recommend stopping there if you have an upcoming cruise = they had TONS of cheap pirate stuff. Of course once I had the hat, now I need a new shirt to reflect my turn to the dark side (being a pirate). So over to the shirt section with tons of Halloween stuff....at first I find a white tshirt with a skull and crossbones that flashes when I walk. Cool and it will work, but I continue to search thinking there just might be something better. Dsis who is shopping with me (oh yes I don't go alone into my shopping bliss - I drag others with me :lmao:) pulls out the perfect shirt - its a black tinkerbelle shirt with her looking a little mean and at the bottom is a skull that LIGHTS UP when you walk! It is so perfect, I cannot wait to wear it. Funny thing is I mention my shopping trip on the trip thread and lo and behold another person also has my "perfect find" t shirt - so I guess we will be starting a trend! :lmao:

I also got light up necklaces for $1 - yes folks, $1 - I am telling you, Walmart was a dangerous place for me to be last night. Next was a trip to the medicine aisle to stock up on any "just in case items" Finally I wonder back to the craft section :headache: Once again - GOLD - 350 temporary tattoos for $2.97.

So all this shoppin was wonderful - with one exception - now I have to find a place in my suitcase for my new found goodies.

Ok back to work - I will check in again later with more.:surfweb:

ohh great deals.. and all packed.. im envious LOL... I am still working on it LOL.

IN CASE i dont get back no... see ya real soon WOOHOO!

So on my lunch today I worked on "fitting" all the new stuff I have into my suitcases - lets just say an hour later, everything is spread out across the bedroom and so far no progress! So now I am working with those space bags.....:scared1: Maybe I was too thorough this time!

Well tonight is our final packing before we drive to buffalo and fly out Friday. First stop outlet shopping. A must do since in Barrie we never have bargins like in the US. Then next stop Saturday the Magic :)

Looking forward to meeting you all :)

Now to print off my Double Dip Avatar for the door.

:cool1: Well looks like our vacation is going to start in style - just found out our plane seats got upgraded to first class - I will take that ANY day. So there has been a lot of discussion about the "green pool" we will have to see when I board but to be honest, I just want to get on that ship! There is always a little risk sailing right after or before drydock - but I trust Disney and just look forward to that sea wind in my face as I stand on the 4th deck....I can't wait!!!

SWEET!
See you in a day and a half! :goodvibes

Well hello all – live from the Disney Magic! It is Sunday evening – night two of our 7 night Western Double Dip cruise. The trip so far has been amazing. I will attempt to catch you up.

Friday

Our trip begins by being given an upgrade on our early morning flight to Orlando. What a way to start the trip! :thumbsup2 We enjoy a peaceful flight – and since we are functioning on about 3 hours of sleep – due to last minute packing and excitement, it is nice to be able to relax a little on the flight.
We arrive right on time and pick up our luggage and the rental car. Decide to go ahead and check in since we are DVC members and got the dining plan for the 1 night. We are staying at Saratoga Springs in a 1 bedroom for the night. We had points left that I didn’t roll over in time so we splurged a little. The 1 bedrooms there are beautiful. They have a HUGE Jacuzzi tub and our room was on the 1st floor with our patio facing downtown Disney – couldn’t have asked for a better location – perfect! (Now of course our room wasn’t ready this early so I am speaking a little out of turn).

Anyways, we head over to Kona Café – our favorite “day of arrival” lunch and enjoy a nice relaxing lunch. We have MNSSHP tonight so figure we will finish up here and go see if the room is ready. After a little shopping, we head back to the resort and take a quick nap so we can enjoy the party tonight. After a refreshing nap – we head back over to the Poly for dinner (okay, I know you are thinking wow, these people must REALLY like the Polynesian – yep we do). We go to one of our favorite restaurants, Ohana and get lucky to get the perfect window seat. DH can gaze right across to see the castle – perfect. After a filling dinner, its off to the MK for the party!

We walk in – and notice people lining up around main street. I figure we must have missed the first parade and folks are lining up for the second – but NO! Here comes the parade – PERFECT timing. The park really was not that full so we had a prime spot right at the top of main street and got some good pics and interaction with the cast members. The rest of the night was great – we end up watching the parade again on our way out – this time it was soooo empty that one of the cast members came up to us and literally POURED candy into a bag I had done some shopping with. Hmmmm can you say extra stuff for the fish extenders?;)

Then back to the resort to pack and get ready for our cruise!:cool1:

Saturday

After a delicious breakfast at Boma, we head out driving to the Port (we rented a car). We brought our own GPS but forgot to turn back on the “do you want to take toll roads”. Needless to say, we took the “scenic” route  and ended up getting there a bit after we intended – but oh well! Check in was very quick, maybe 15 minutes and off we are to board our home for the next 7 days. As we walk across the gangway, the excitement is building – after a year, we have finally arrived!!! DH has decided to video tape us entering the ship so just as I am about to board I notice he is MIA. Then I see him going backwards through the line!!! What! :scared1: DH you are going the wrong way – worse he is looking down a the ground for something – uh oh, not a good sign. Next thing I see is security looking at his id and handing him his KTTW card – yup, he was so busy videoing he dropped it a long the way. Phew, crisis resolved. :scared:

After being announced, clapped for and welcomed, I head straight to Rockin Bar D to try to add our friends to our Palo ressie. DH decides to go see if the room is ready. I got our ressie changed but still no brunch – we are on a waiting list – darn. Next down and surprise – the room is ready a little early!!! It is hard to describe the feeling you get walking into that stateroom – it is the best! We have a porthole room and when we walked in we see that our friends have sent us a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I will try to post a pic later.

After settling in, we meet up with our friends and head to Parrot Cay for lunch – mmmmm there is nothing like lunch on the Disney Magic!!!:thumbsup2
Next, we head back to the rooms for a bit and I have work to do. Unlike all the super organized folks – I have all the stuff for my F/E with me but haven’t put them together. So I spend quite a bit of time finishing those up and getting the gifts ready for my Secret Mickey. I have to say that so far this has been the best trip EVER when it comes to F/E. Everyone has done an amazing job with the thought that went into their gifts. Once I get home, I will post a pic with everything received – but I am writing this on Sunday and already have been blessed with SO much stuff and goodies!

The rest of the night is pretty standard, we go to the show and apparently the entertainer that was supposed to be there missed his flight so they brought in another guy. He is a comedic musician – pretty good. Looking forward to seeing his adult show Monday night – should be funny. After the show and a short stop in the stores, we head on over to dinner and find that the servers we had ( and absolutely love) are back on the Magic. So we talk to the head server and get switched back over to them – I have to say, these servers are the best we have ever had – it is a year and a half later and they remember details about our preferences, things that happened on the trip, etc. Amazing! To wrap up the night, we go watch the Match your Mate show and get a good laugh. Finally, its back to the room to finish up those fish extender gifts.

Okay, that’s it for today – stay tuned for our day at Castaway and how we managed to spend 3 ½ hours at Palo! :rolleyes1

Great!!! Sounds good so far. Can't wait to hear more. We board in November. By the way, how are the pools? How are the upgrades?
