The family is going to WDW in late 2005 with 20 of us. I am going to borrow and buy enough points to put us all in a GV and a 2-bedroom.

My question is will Disney help us plan using Magical Gatherings or do we have to have them also set up our hotel rooms? They also have perks like special dinner offers and seating for Illuminations and I wanted to see if they still offered this since we will be staying at DVC.

If anybody has had any experience with MG I would appreciate your help or comments.

PS. My brother-in-law would like to fit all 20 of us in 2 studios and share one refillable mug for the week while sneeking into SAB.:D

I called MS for a grand gathering after booking the GV and you can make plans with them even without booking. Have a great time!

Well! Good thing he isn't doing the planning! You didn't tell him he had to pay, did you??? :p :p ;)

we're going with maybe 27 in October. I'm planning on buying a box of hamburgers from Sam's and having a magical gathering around the grill.

We're doing a grand gathering in July. We booked with DVC and they called over to Magical gatherings thru a conference call and we got our group name and number. Now when we want to book the MG experiences, we are to call the MG planners at a separate phone number which they gave us. Basically, it really only pays to call MG for the special experiences. Otherwise, call MS or Disney Dining and tell them your MG number/name! Good Luck! We can't wait!! 10 more days until we can book our MG experiences!!:Pinkbounc

I am pretty sure I should have this somewhere in all my Disney information, but how many people do you have to have in your group to qualify for Magical Gatherings?:wave2:

I think it is 8, but I'm not for sure....I'm sure someone else will know....

Our friends are having a Magical Gathering with eight guests staying in a DVC GV. He made his own DVC reservation.

Thanks for all the response. Of Course my Brother-in Law is not paying. Infact he will probably not go to the parks while we take his kids and lay around the pool and eat our food.:)

You have to have 8 for a Gathering, and they all have to be adults (kids don't count toward the total - I think the cutoff age is 9).

We're taking 10 of us in June.
