If I don't get my yellow vouchers, what do I need to do? I know I can go get my luggage myself, but if I don't have the yellow vouchers can ME still get my luggage? I rented DVC points and the person I rented from didn't think I would get my vouchers in time, she said to just go to the Disney desk at the airport and they would get my luggage. Any insight on this?

They will still get your luggage if you want them to. It requires you giving a detailed description of your bags, and your luggage claim slips to the people at the ME counter.

I was wondering the same thing, as they do not do the vouchers at all now here in the UK (assuming it is the same for you guys over there too).

I remember the CM saying make sure you have your luggage slips, so they must track it that way. Maybe make it a little easier for them by putting something Disney on there so it stands out.

Last year me and DF bought pin lanyards from the gift shop and wrote our names on them on our last day and tied them around the handles, was pretty easy to spot when we had to collect.

We are going to buy a few more when we go back this year, as its handy when you go to another country as your bag is the only one with a red mickey lanyard on it :)

You may want to consider just getting the bags yourself and taking them to the bus with you. If you don't want to take the chance that they won't get the bags without the yellow tags, get the bags yourself. I'd be worried the whole time wondering if the bags will show up in my room, and if they didn't I'd be kicking myself for not picking it up myself. But it could just be me.

You have two choices here...
1. let your bags go, untagged. then when you get to DME counter to checkin, give your baggage claim receipts to the CM and they will send someone to get the bags and send them to the resort for you.
or..
2. you can get your bags yourself and bring them to your bus with you. then you will have the bags with you vs waiting up to 4 hrs for them to get to the resort.

I'm going to move this over to our transportation board.

You don't want a long ribbon like or rope like thing hanging off of your suitcase which can result in catching in the conveyor belts possibly breaking the handle off

Let's start a fad! Make up 4x6 index cards (fluorescent green if you wish), each with the same 3 digit number in big print and also your name in small print. Plaster two on the sides of each suitcase.

Ideally you should also put the date, destination airport code, and actual destination on the card in small print but you have to be careful to cross it out and change it for the return trip and each trip thereafter.

Oh thats a point. Your idea sounds good.

Another idea we had was, similar to yours, we were going to find a pic of our resort and put the name of it on top in a bright colour and on the other side put down our name and address and then laminate it so it won't tear to badly on the journey.

I just spoke to Disney and the CM there said that they are no longer sending out the luggage tags to international visitors and that we are to go to the Disney Desk and hand over/show our luggage ticket/receipt. Or we could just take our own luggage and proceed to boarding the bus (after checking in with the Disney Desk).

Part of me prefers to get our own luggage as I hate waiting forever to be able to get ready for bed etc. Last time we went we waited til 1am before it turned up, but DF says that he would prefer to just walk off the plane onto the bus (which I get where he's coming from). Oh well just have to wait and see.
