I've never used Magical Express airport transportation before, and am considering it because it seems like a good deal. Problem is we will have one more child (17 yr old) with us than is on our reservation. Any chance that we can squeeze an extra person on the bus? How closely do they check tickets, etc. We'll be fine with the baggage, but I don't want to be left with one of us in a taxi. Any thought's I'd appreciate it.

Unfortunately, no they won't take the extra person, if they're not on the ressie. They do check. Sorry.

Can you add the child to your ressie?

They scan the ticket of each person riding the bus. I don't see any way to sneak a person on board.

You can walk over to the Mears desk, near the DME desk at MCO, and purchase a voucher. Mears will probably transport the extra guest on a DME bus. Make sure you purchase a R/T voucher, if you needed. MEARS WON'T ACCEPT ADVANCE RESERVATIONS BUT NONE ARE NEEDED.

As others have posted, you won't be able to "sneak" an extra person. Vouchers are scanned and passengers are counted. Airport fees and payment to Mears is based on the number of passengers transported.

Can you just call WDW and add the child to your resort reservation? At the last minute I added my daughter to my room for my trip in May. When booklet came for the DME she was not included, so I was very worried about getting her on the bus.
When I checked in at the DME counter I explained that my daughter was on my resort reservation but not included on the DME info. The CM checked the computer and confirmed my daughter was on the reservation and added her to the DME, the gave me a voucher for her and she was able to get on the bus with no problem.
But they do count heads when you board the bus, and most times I used DME the bus has been full, the likelyhood of getting someone on the bus without a voucher is slim.

A person MUST be listed on a Disney Resort Reservation in order to get transportation via Disney's Magical Express. In addition, they MUST have made the hotel and DME reservations at least 1 day prior to arriving at Orlando International Airport.

Those are not Disney rules, but rather Airport Regulations.

Well that about clears it up. We'll have to go with a rental car! I have a child who is traveling with us, but going to camp with a relative, so she wasn't on our reservation. Thanks for the great info.

If you aren't at room capacity and not on a package you can add her to the reservation and then she will be eligible for ME. Since she is under 18 there is no additional fee.
