Magical Express or Do I need a limo/cab?

So, I have magical express set to pick us up. But, for our return home, we are flying out a day after we check out. I wanted ME to take us to the airport so we could shuttle to a hotel close by (as yet to be determined) but she said ME would verify flight information?

Can I call back in a few days or weeks and give them flight info for a flight leaving that night? Then just keep our luggage with us and bring it to the bus?

You don't have to be flying in or out to use DME so whomever "she" is is wrong.

The only requirement to use DME is that you are a WDW resort guest at the time you want to use DME and that you make an advance reservation.

So you can either call DME directly (if you can't find the # I can find it tomorrow) as they can make a reservation without a flight or you can just choose a flight that works for you in terms of time and book with that via the regular resort/package CM's.

I can tell you from personal expericane that I have used DME without a flight several times and never had an issue.

You will have to take your own luggage however as the RAC (luggage check in service) on the outbound has nothing to do with DME but is a remote luggage checkpoint for the airline. So if "she" was referring to RAC then you do have to be flying to use that.

That's what I thought. We aren't headed there until end of august so I will plan to call dme directly when we get closer to that point.

And sorry "she" referred to whoever was on the other end of the phone for Disney.

To speed up the Magical Express reservation process, have in mind a flight, any flight, any airline leaving about 3 hours after the time you want to leave your resort.

The DME reservationist CM may or may not ask for it.

If you need to fix or change the DME reservation going home, wait until after you get to Orlando. Less likely to cause confusion or mess something else up.

They verify the flight information so that they can schedule your bus time but they don't verify that you are on that flight. So find a flight for around the time you want to go (3 hours before) and give it to them.

Our last trip we stayed off site for our final two nights. I simply gave DME a fake flight on the day of departure that left 3 hours after I wanted to go to the airport. I took DME to the airport, rented a car, drove back to POR and picked up my family. They had stayed back to pack and get ready to move.

We have also done it on the way in with a late landing. We booked DME for the day we checked in at WDW. We then landed, got our bags, took the airport shuttle to the airport hotel. The shuttle returned us to MCO to pick up DME the next morning.

The cm made it sound like we had to have plane tix that they would check everything regarding our flight info.

I'll wait until I book all of our ADRs and see what time we are going to be done before I call the ME line directly.
