Magical EBTA 2017

I will be on the cruise also together with my wife and friends from Florida. We live in the Netherlands in a town just 6 miles from the centre of Amsterdam. When there are any questions about the interesting spots in Amsterdam, I am happy to answer your questions the next months.
This is wonderful! Thank you!

I will copy what you said, and put it in my post 7, so it will be on the first page of the thread, so people just starting to read will hopefully see it to reference.

How is everyone??

Who expects a lot of Trick or Treaters this weekend?

I do not expect many.

This will be daisy my service dog's second disney cruise, her first was the mexican cruise, we stayed on the boat. Anybody else travel with their service dog? Daisy is my medical response/mobility dog.

Howdy from Texas. I am a veterinarian and will be traveling with you and Daisy on the EBTA cruise. (BTW...Daisy is my absolute most favorite Disney charachter.) if you private message me, I can pass along my cabin info so if you have concerns about Daisy, I can always take a look at her. Looking forward to seeing you both in May.
Michelle

We had a golden retriever named Daisy. I love the name too!

On our 2010 EBTA, people on the DisBoards self organized a cabin tour. We got to see just about every type of cabin on the ship. Is anyone interested in that?
That sounds interesting! I would be interested in participating in a cabin tour.

This will be my first time visiting Amsterdam. What are your recommendations to a first time visitor for "must-see places" and "must-do things"?

We will be in Amsterdam for only 9 hours (9.00am - 6.00pm). I hope DCL will publish the Port Adventures soon. But my advise for must-see-places is:
- A boat tour through the canals
- Rijksmuseum, van Gogh Museum (probably long waiting lines)
- Anne Frank House
- A trip to the small villages Volendam/Marken
- A trip to the flower show in the Keukenhof
- Guided tour Red Light District of Amsterdam

The Cruise Terminal is about 10 minutes walk away from the city center of Amsterdam. You can do all the must-see-places on your own. But when DCL offers a package of a few must-see-places it is nice to do that.

When you have more questions, I will be happy to advise you.

Excited to be joining you on this cruise. This will be our third Disney Transatlantic. Love those sea days!

Hello all!

My wife and I will be on this cruise as well. It will be our 6th Disney cruise. We fly from Amsterdam to Orlando. Than going back to Europe with the Magic. We even can go home (12 miles away) when we visit Amsterdam. :earsboy:

I was wondering if you've been to the Swing Dancing Festival in Coppenhagen. It's called Lindy Exchange Coppenhagen, and will be going on while we're in port. I think there's even a big parade on the day that we're there, and a big swing dance party with live band that evening.

Also if you have a list on MUST DO things in Amaterdam, please let me know. This will be my first time in these areas.

Thank you!

Welcome to the cruise and this thread!

I'll organize a "local" candy or snacks exchange. Anyone interested? I'll keep an updated list of interested people here, but will not take cabin numbers or special requests at this time.

Yes... I would love to take part in this. We have 7 kids traveling with us... Ages 8, 10, 12, 12, 14, 16 and 18

I think it would be lots of fun. Thank you for organizing this. This will be our second Disney Cruise. We were on the Wetbound Panama cruise last year on Disney and are now hooked.

Well, we have made travel plans! We bought Icelandic Comfort Class tix home, and will spend 2 nights in Iceland. We booked a tour for the full day. Last week we got hold of an Iceland travel book and DH had decided on a hotel, and there was room, but today he was told it was booked, so he booked his second choice, a Raddison. He also booked a tour that was recommended in the tour book.

How are the rest of you doing with planning?

How about on board? Will anyone be setting up mixology or other tasting classes for The group?

Bobbi

I didn't know we could set up a mixology class and tasting class. How do we do this? I'm passionate about food, wine and dancing... Particularly swing dancing. (I even have a blog where I share my favorite recipes and teach cooking classes).

What would be the best way to try and connect with others that may have similar interests?

Hi Everyone! :wave2: DH and I will be joining you on this fantastic cruise! Can't wait!! :woohoo: This will be our 17th Disney cruise, but first TA. We've already spent 4 port days in Copenhagen and are already looking forward to going back there! :goodvibes

As for planning, we have our pre-cruise hotel booked and are checking daily for airfare. :surfweb: We have typically found the best international flight deals around five months prior to traveling. We pretty much know what we're going to do in Copenhagen and Dover, but will plan out specifics as we get closer to sailing. In Portland, we plan to finally see Stonehenge after passing up the opportunity several times before. Amsterdam and Ponta Delgada are new for us, so we're excited to start researching these ports. The only thing I'm disappointed about is that we won't stop at Castaway Cay on the way. :confused3

Bobbi, we'd love to join the Candy Exchange! Thanks for setting this up!!! :flower3:

I don't join other social media sites for cruises anymore due to a really bad experience with one for a previous cruise. :sad1: Unfortunately, it turned out to be full of people we weren't actually sailing with, which was weird. And, I quickly became uncomfortable with the amount of personal information that those people were able to learn about me. With that said, I would be more than happy to organize a FE Exchange for our cruise, but it would have to solely be done through the DIS Boards. I've organized 12 FE Exchanges on here before that everyone has seemed pleased with. :) My goal is for everyone to just have fun with it. Please let me know if this would work out or if everyone would rather go with the other site.

Only 10 more months to go!!! :yay:

Hi Deb!

My name is Ann, and I'll be traveling with 7 kids (ages: 8,10,12,12,14,16,17).

I is only our 2nd Disney cruise. Last May we went on the west bound Panama Canal cruise. I would love to participate in the fish extenders. I've never done it before but everyone tells me it's a lot of fun.

Just let me know what I need to do to prep.

Thank you for organizing this.

Ann
