I want everyone to know that I will arrange the total number of Candy Exchangers into groups that will be between 6-11, so do not worry if we have 30 people or more signing up. I'll have the information regarding cabin numbers and try to arrange groups by floors at least.

Regarding pin exchanges. There have been some questions here, and I do not know if anyone has signed up to organize. If we are talking about meeting to trade pins, I think we could meet for lunch in the buffet dining room one sea day and plan to exchange pins there. On my last TA someone suggested a particular lounge to meet in on a sea day at a time. If we had to move because Disney scheduled something in that lounge, at least we all moved together to find an empty space. Any ideas? Has someone organized?

Welcome to the cruise and this thread!

I'll organize a "local" candy or snacks exchange. Anyone interested? I'll keep an updated list of interested people here, but will not take cabin numbers or special requests at this time.

Howdy Bob. My DH and I would love to participate in the candy exchange. Keep us posted. Michelle

This cruise is not currently showing up on the DCL website. When I went to My Reservations it shows the cruise date but doesnt say "15 night Eastbound Transatlantic" like it did. Should we be concerned?

I only noticed because a friend is interested in joining and wanted to look at prices.

Just booked this one today. Very excited!! Max & Linda from Texas. We've sailed out of Galveston on the Wonder twice and were looking for a different destination this time. The 15 day transatlantic sounded right up our alley... longer cruise with plenty of ship time, and interesting ports we've never visited. Glad to see some TA veterans here. Not knowing what the airfare would be scared me a bit though. I called Disney today to ask if they had an airfare add-on package and they did. It didn't seem to be anywhere near as much as what I could find online now. They're getting us from TX to Orlando and then from Copenhagen back to TX including transfers for $2400 for the two of us. Does that sound reasonable? I do like the ease of calling Disney and they put everything together, cruise, flight, insurance, and tips. Done! Just don't want to pay too much for the convenience, so I'll check with you veterans on that flight cost. Now to just pay for it all and save for a few excursions, although we usually just do those on our own. Will be watching here for some tips on that! Looking forward to visiting with all of you here over the next 11+ months.

Howdy from Texas!!! I am so glad there are going to be lots of Texans on this cruise :)

Hello Fellow Cruisers!
I’m really excited to see so much interest in starting a Fish Extender Exchange for our cruise! For anyone who may be new to Fish Extender Exchanges, here's my best explanation:

Beside every cabin door is a large silver fish with an indentation in the back (mail slot) for cruise personnel to leave information, invitations, etc. DISboarders have taken the silver fish one step further... by creating hanging pockets (much like cloth letter holders) to hang from the fish - thus the name, "Fish Extender". Fish Extenders (FEs) can be made of practically anything (cloth, plastic, paper gift bags, etc.), as long as they have at least one pocket that can hold surprises. My first FE was just a medium-sized canvas bag purchased from a local craft store. A Google Image search of “fish extenders” will show dozens of unique styles!

Each "Cruise Meets" thread organizes their own little gift exchange. Some exchanges are set up with a lot of requirements, but I like to make it as easy and fun as possible. I always leave it up to the giver to decide what to give and when to pass it out during the cruise. Some people decide to give one surprise per family, some people like to give a little gift to each person in the cabin.

There are several DIS Boards threads that discuss ideas for FE gifts. Some gifts are from Dollar Stores, some are handmade, and some are bought in bulk from websites that sell trinkets like the Oriental Trading Company. Often, they are stickers, candy, glow sticks, lanyards, luggage tags, magnets, mugs, frames, etc., with themes such as pirates, beach, cruise, tropical, hometown, holiday, etc. The main idea is just to have fun finding little goodies in your FE throughout the cruise. Kids LOVE running back to their cabin to see if anything's been left in their FE. As an adult, I have to admit that I really love it, too!!!

I want everyone to feel comfortable with the number of cabins you’ll be exchanging with. I’ve participated in exchanges that had only 4 cabins participating on a 3-night cruise, all the way up to over 80 participating cabins on the longer cruises! Currently, it looks like there are 7 cruisers who want to join in on the fun and I expect that number will grow quite a bit! So, I’ll break the groups down to a choice of 10 in your FE group, 20 in your FE group, or “Sky’s the Limit” for those of us who believe the more the merrier!

The deadline to join this Fish Extender Exchange will be Saturday, April 15, 2017, to give everyone time to get their FE gifts prepared and packed. I will send all participants a Private Message (PM) through the DIS Boards on Sunday, May 16, with your FE group information. You'll need to print that final list of participants and pack it with your gifts so you'll know where to deliver them once you're onboard the ship.

To join the FE Exchange, please send me (Deb T.) a “Private Message” with the following information:
*Your Cabin Number
*Names of everyone in your cabin
*Ages of children
*Any allergy considerations
*The size of the FE group you want to be in: “No more than 10,” “No more than 20,” or “Sky’s the Limit.”

Can't wait for our cruise!!!! :boat:

Howdy Deb. I will send you a PM a bit later with my info for the FE but I have only been using boards for a short while so need to make additional posts. Me and DH are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and traveling alone for the TA cruise (YIPPEEEE!) and cannot wait!

Hello All! Glenda and Scott here. This will be our 3rd Disney cruise...1st Transatlantic. We have done a 5-day to Bahamas and we did the WBPC this past May. First time on Disboards, so I'll be posting to earn my ears so I can send a PM to join an FE group.

This will be our third DC, 1st TA as well. Our first cruise was 13yrs ago when my now 16yr old was 3 1/2yrs old. What a great memory. We have taken two cruises on other lines and have just been disappointed....once you do Disney, there is no going back. We took our second DC last August from Canada to Alaska. So far, this one is our favorite. Hoping to top it with the TA cruise.

Wow - that is really strange! I just tried to pull it up on DCL's website this morning to see if it would show up, and it still doesn't. Funny thing is that it shows that there should be 1 result, but no cruise is listed. I then pulled up my reservation and everything was there as before, so that made me feel a little better. Have you or your friend tried calling DCL or a TA directly? Please keep us posted!!

Hello Fellow Cruisers!
I’m really excited to see so much interest in starting a Fish Extender Exchange for our cruise!

Hi Deb! Thanks for taking this on. I'm new to the forum (will pm you as soon as I hit the magic 10 posts). Definitely interested in the Fish Extender Exchange. We're looking forward to setting sail!! (Just gotta get through a Canadian winter first!!).

We have cruised on the Wonder twice and are looking forward to this cruise on the Magic. I was amazed at how the cast members filled the itinerary on the 14 day EBPC cruise! So many surprises! So exited about what's in store for us next May. Oh...and my sister-in-law has decided to join us! This will be her first Disney cruise.

I agree about no going back once you do Disney! We won't even consider looking at other cruise lines.

I was on DVC's Member Cruise to Halifax on the Magic, and returned on Sunday. I was so glad they showed us Tangled!! It's great! Looking forward to seeing it again on this cruise!

Hi Everybody! I just got off the DVCMC also and booked EBTA on board. So happy to be joining you especially since I met Bobbi on the cruise. She does a great candy exchange! Bobbi, I will be happy to join the candy exchange for this one also. I am traveling with a friend, Lorrie and I am Karen (Tinked). Looking forward to meeting you all!!!
