Robin,

I am so sorry for your loss at this time! I don't know if you remember, but my Mom died at this time last year and we were on the cruise shortly after her funeral. I am glad you are still coming. Getting away and having my time full of Disney fun really helped get me through the toughest time in my life. If you need anything or just someone to cry with I understand and will be available.

My prayers are with you and your family!

Amy - that's awesome news - i'm so excited they got it ready for use! I figured they would, but whew!

So somebody talk me out of going shopping... I'm wrapping the very few gifts we have for under the tree this year -- and it looks so pitiful. The boys are getting just a few video games which are small anyway and a book each. And of course the cruise......... but I can't exactly wrap that for under the tree :)

And there is absolutely nothing to go in their stockings... Santa is going to have to figure that one out pretty quickly.

Robin, I am so sorry to hear about your mother! Our thoughts are with you and hopefully this cruise will bring you some peace with a much needed rest.

I am so glad to hear about the "gangplank";) It just wouldn't be the same without it.

I have two more nights of work and then, VACATION!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Robin, I am sorry to hear about your mother! But I am gland that you will still be cruising with us. I lost my father December 11, 2007. It is definately nice to have a diversion when you lose some on special so close to the holidays.

1 week and 1 day!!!

Robin I am so sorry about your lose. Sending you and your family lots of thoughts and prayers. Nobody can really understand what your feeling as it is different for everyone but 3 years ago I was in teh same place you are in right now. We lsot my dad right before christmas. We had a trip planned to WDW and with heavy hearts we went. It was the best thing we could have done becasue it really helped us get through that first holiday.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I spent most of my day running both kids around to Girl scout meetings. Also, my present is the cruise, but dh did get me a nice card and a cake.
We are going out to dinner tomorrow night with my friend and her dh (his birthday happens to be the same day as mine). MIL will be watching the girls while we go to dinner after we have a small christmas with them.

I am excited that they fixed the gangplank, specially since this is our first disney cruise.

Angie

Robin - words can not express how sorry we are. Our prayers are with you. I'm glad you are still coming. Hang in there!

Yea about the gangplank!!!! I am so happy our extended family is going to experience the "whole Disney experience!"

Those of you staying at the Hyatt, do you know if they still pick up your luggage outside of your room Saturday? (when you are taking the Disney transportation) TA thought that was discontinued?

I also read that you can have the hotel gather your luggage at the airport when you arrive and then deliver to your hotel room. Anyone ever do this?

Still have a few more FE gifts to finish . . . I know I needed to start earlier!!!

We are also staying at the Hyatt on the 19th! And I also wondered about the luggage. So anyone that has info, it would be appreciated!

So, we've had 20+ inches of snow here in Wisconsin so far in December. And the high temp today is going to be 17 degrees! I am so ready for the Carribean!! Bring it on :)

Question...how many of you pack the day before you leave (or the night before, in my case!)? Seriously, I do not pack early. That's just how I am for any trip. My mother in law packs weeks in advance! She thinks I'm crazy!

:santa: :santa: :santa: :santa:
I love these santa smilies, can you tell?

8 more days until we CRUISE WITH MICKEY!!!:dance3:

I can't, and don't, pack weeks in advance. And, I haven't even started yet, except for the box of stuff that I've found and collected, knowing that it'll need to be packed. My plan is to get the suitcases out this weekend and start packing some on Sunday. I'll get together all of our dressy outfits, plan what we'll wear the other days, make sure our travel toiletry bag doesn't need to be restocked, get "cruise" stuff together (goggles, FE, gifts, etc). Then, since we're leaving from school on Friday, I'll finish up ALL the last minute stuff on Thursday night, so we can be ready to go on Friday.

I won't officially pack until Thursday night, but I am already gathering clothes that we want to take with us as they come out of the laundry. That way I won't have so much to hunt for on Thursday afternoon - especially since we aren't telling the boys til Friday morning that we're cruising. I usually have them help me pack by telling them how many socks, shirts, shorts, etc. to bring me, but this time I think I'll just pack for them (my gift to them - LOL).

I got a lot done yesterday. I boxed up our FE gifts, got our Secret Santa gifts in their gift bags, and sorted out some laundry. I got our door signs printed and magnetized, and this morning I put the finishing touches on our Fish Extender. I went ahead and stopped the mail and newspaper online, too.

What day are we delivering Secret Santa? 24th or 25th?

Zachary had his play yesterday and it went well. Then he was singing in the chorus last night so we had to go back (they have two casts - morning and afternoon/evening). He made a cute Santa. Today they have a field trip to do their play at another school and then to eat lunch out. And he has Parents Night Out tonight - his school does it a few times a year as a fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society. They do very well with it.

So while he's at PNO, DH and I will be shopping for shoes and clothes... I need a new pair of sneakers, and I want a few more tops for the winter - most of what I have is short-sleeve from the fall and I've been cold lately at work except on the days I wear long sleeves. (Sounds good, anyway, right?) So we're going to have a dinner out and then do some shopping. Santa asked me to pick up a couple of things that he can put in their stockings, too, since he's not sure about how he'll do it on the ship.

One week - one week - one week.

We stayed there two years ago. I don't know if they have discontinued picking up the luggage, but I know that was one of the reasons we stayed there!

When we got to the airport - which was close to midnight due to a very long flight delay - we called the hotel and they sent over a porter to help us get all our stuff over to the hotel - I would recommend this - it was a bit of a walk and could be confusing with which elevators, etc. to use. I think due to the really late hour we got the manager of the group - he was VERY helpful with information about what to do with luggage etc. for the morning. If I remember correctly, there is a phone near the luggage area that has a direct line to the Hyatt.

When I was single I would always pack as I was leaving - so much stuff you use that you take with you! Now that I pack for four people - two preschoolers - I don't dare do that! I packed boxes to be shipped to our room last night and mailed them today - I have almost everything else packed - last min. stuff will be electronics that need to be charged and the couple packages that I am waiting on.

BTW, It cost around $80 to ship two large boxes to the ship (One per room.) - which was more than I expected, but worth it not to have to mess with all the stuff involved in traveling this time of year! I did one box with gifts, decorations, etc. and the other one just has clothes! Hopefully I will not bring back as much as I take!
