S = Starboard
P = Port
F = Forward
M = Midship
A = Aft

The list is by deck, side of the ship, and which elevator bay each stateroom is closest to if anyone wants to copy it.
After spending way too much time wandering around looking for staterooms last time I participated in a FE exchange, I figured I should map out a plan this time. ;)

Edited to add updates:
1. Added 2nd room # for njmom (6132 & 5014)
2. Added KathyFP's info (1030) Congrats on the upgrade!
3. Removed xsjackson5 from list (he is grouped with one of the other xsjackson cabins)

I'm getting really excited, but also feeling unprepared right now. No packing started here yet. Hopefully this weekend. After booking this cruise so long ago, you'd think I'd be good to go just 1 week out! I'm not... Yikes!

I have suitcases laid out and everytime I wash something that I want I put it in the suitcase. I also got out all the girls shorts and shirts. Other then that I have not packed. I will probably start packing this Monday or Tuesday while the kids are in school.

Today, dh and I went shopping for some clothes that he needed. We are going out now for my birthday.

Have a great weekend.

Angie

First, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother Robin. Sending more positive healing thoughts your way.

Hi Gals,
I just wanted to post the names of participants in the ornament exchange thus far. If your name does not appear before you are more than welcome to still participate. Bring the ornament of your choice (not necessarily Disney themed) wrapped or in a gift bag to the exchange on Mon Dec 22 at 9:30 AM in the Promenade Lounge. We all aimed for an app price of $10 more or less. See you there!

Wow Sheila! That is a AWESOME list!! It will come in so handy. Thank You! :worship:

I guess I am the odd man out in this group....I pack MONTHS in advance. We have no clothes to wear for two months, but hey, everyone has to have priorities right? (Truth be told, I do pack at least a month in advance and we always buy new clothes for our Disney trips, so they still have their existing clothes to wear.;) ) It is funny how you adjust to your "average weather" because we have packed "cold weather" clothes. When you are used to 90-105 degree heat every day for about 8-9 months out the year, 70-80 degrees is COLD to us. I can remember taking our trips to WDW and thinking it was so nice and warm when we were traveling from the north (we lived in Michigan prior to living in Texas). We would leave when it was 0 degrees and 70 felt pretty darn good. Now that we have lived down here for so long, we have gotten used to the warmer temperatures and 70 is COLD!!:lmao: So we have packed long pants, shirts and YES, even coats.

Tonight is my last night of work and then I am on VACATION!!!!:cool1: I do not want to see ONE pregnant woman while on vacation (good thing I picked a cruise, hunh, where pregnancy isn't allowed;) ) Last night, I took care of a 15 y.o. girl on her 3rd....YES...3rd baby...AND... all of them consensual. After those kinds of nights, I come home and lecture my 15 y.o daughter until my face turns blue and her ears are ready to fall off!

Have a great Friday everyone!
Shannon

We are also staying at the Hyatt on the 19th! And I also wondered about the luggage. So anyone that has info, it would be appreciated!

So, we've had 20+ inches of snow here in Wisconsin so far in December. And the high temp today is going to be 17 degrees! I am so ready for the Carribean!! Bring it on :)

Question...how many of you pack the day before you leave (or the night before, in my case!)? Seriously, I do not pack early. That's just how I am for any trip. My mother in law packs weeks in advance! She thinks I'm crazy!

:santa: :santa: :santa: :santa:
I love these santa smilies, can you tell?

8 more days until we CRUISE WITH MICKEY!!!:dance3:

I received some infor from the TA

The Hyatt will pick up your bags for you, but they don't know what shape your luggage was in when you checked it in.
So they take no responsibility for the condition your luggage is in.
If there is anything special, valuable, fragile or prescriptions please keep it with you in your carry ons.
Often I just check at baggage claim to make sure that all my luggage arrived in one piece before I go to the hotel.

I highlighted the instructions for checking into the Hyatt on your hotel voucher in your packet.
Most hotels no longer feel it is safe to put luggage outside the rooms, so they no longer do this.
They will give you specific instructions at check in and a time to have the bags ready.
They usually ask that the bags be left right inside the door,
but if they are too heavy leave them together on the bag rack or on the bed.

so that doens't sound to bad.

I will probably pack this weekend. . . I went through everyone's clothes last week and makd sure everything still ift and to find out if we needed to buy anything new . . . the pile has been started in the living room. I'm starting to think about getting all of the documentation together . . .

Too much going on though . . . I leave in a few minutes to go to a retirement party tonight, then Matt's birthday party for his friends is tomorow, then a Christmas party Saturday night, with a Christmas party Sunday afternoon!!!

Finished the FE gifts last night, now I need to finish the tshirts for the families and the few pieces of jewelry I wanted to make for myself and the earings DD wants for formal night uggg!!!!

For packing we usually wait until the day before but becasue of my work schedule we are going to start packing this weekend. We've already packed our FE gifts and room decorations in their box. Since we aren't wear the light weight clothing we will need for this trip we can go ahead and pack it. We leave in 5 days!!!!!!!!

Hi Lisa,

Somehow my name got left off the list - can you please add me?

Thanks

Lisa (njmom)

Sorry about that. I've been adding names both at home and at work and it got a bit confusing.
See you soon!

Have not been on this board at all but now that the cruise is getting near thought I would jump on and say "How Ya All Doing!!!" My wife and three kids.=5 (From New Jersey)
My In-LAws=2 (From New Jersey)
Sister-In-Law and Husband and their three kids =5 (From New Jersey)
Aunt =1 (from Maryland)
1st Cousin #1 and her two kids = 3 (from Maryland)
1st Cousin #2 and his wife and two kids = 4(from Maryland)
1st Cousin #3 and his wife and two kids = 4 (from San Frncisco)

It is going to be a blast for sure!!! One item not to forget is the shoebag holder to hang on the bathroom door to hold all sorts of stuff!!

One more week!!!! :banana: :banana: :banana: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Hey, did anyone call DCL to find out the movies on our cruise? Or, a confirmation of the formal/semi-formal nights, and pirate night? Just wondering since ours is a holiday cruise.

I just tried but there's 21 minute wait right now. I'll try to call later. In the meantime, I also checked and I forgot to list that I also have Tenya on the exchange list. Sorry!

Lisa Marie :santa:

As I'm first to post on Saturday (which isn't hard as I have at least 5 hours advantage on most of you), I'll be the first to state that the cruise is only 1 week away.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I thought I was the only early riser.

For all you poor folks in the freezing weather, it is 39 with a wind chill of 33 this morning here in Palatka Florida. We are about 2 hrs north of Port Canaveral on the St. Johns River. We would be happy to return these cooler temps for Christmas to you kind folks up north. Hard for wife to pack when its near 80 one day and in upper 50's the next.

This will be our third Christmas cruise on the Magic. The past two have been the 10 day cruise and it was nice to be able to do the western route this time. The first cruise we spent Christmas day in St Thomas with VERY VERY early customs check (6 AM) and lots of tired kids still in pajamas. The next trip we spent Christmas at Castaway Cay relaxing. This year it will be nice to relax at sea.

I don't understand why you ladies stress over packing and this trip. YOU ARE ON VACATION, ENJOY!!!! Let your husbands pack and they can be through in about 1/2 hour. No promise that we will get everything but I bet we can get it in fewer suitcases. :rotfl:

The several holiday trips have always been great on the Magic. If we do it again, I would like to try the new Carnival Dream that will start sailing out of Port Canaveral next summer. Rates look very affordable at this time!! Daughter says "NO", and I say when you assist with the payment, you have a larger share in the decision because the money tree is running out. Her comment is "Plant another one".

Well one week to go and we will be waiting to cast off. Good luck to everyone flying in; no lost luggage, major delays, ect. It would be sad having to wave as your plane passed overhead heading to Orlando when the ship casts off. :scared1: (Just kidding) Flying just isn't fun anymore.

Hope to say hello to everyone next week.

Rick

been off the website this week. Now I have to go bck 5-6 pages to find out whats going on. Busy week last 10 days no days off. Today we are snow bound. For those who don't know WA state it doesn't get a lot of snow but last night was the first of the season. I am hoping to get out of the house and that there is only snow in the mtn areas not the lowlands.

next week is really busy too. appt get it fixed before we leave - tension I must be grinding my teeth again!

A week from today we will be excitedly waiting to board the ship. After all this planning I can't believe that it is so close. Can't wait to meet everybody.

Lissa

That'll be how everyone will recognize me onboard. I'll be the one in the MM Santa Hat with a drink in her hand!

Thanks for making me smile.

LM :santa:

I will need that drink too! Sorry I had to go back 8 pages of reading and I am only 5 back! My baby sister 37 is driving me to drink with all her WDW problems - no wonder I will not help her book her trip! Somehow without booking her rooms on DCL and WDW (I did book my dad, in-laws, and other 2 sisters rooms and activities) I am at fault for all her mistakes and now I have to fix them. She's 37 - get a life and learn to be responsible for yourself. oops another I hate you text message coming in.

I dont get it, I fixed the last 3 problems now she is on her own. She is acting like a 15 yr old!!!! Oh, I teach 13-15 yr olds. If you see a pain in the *** 3o something girl with lots of tattoos - thats my pain in the butt sister!

Im the cubby, round - no tattoos, 45+ one drinking!

we were on that 06 cristmas cruise too! without extended family. Now we are a group of 16. in 2006 we had major roblems leaving seattle with snow and ice. We went home to 11 days without power. Yeck my frig and freezer were really gross. Our flights were 16 hours late. Now they are predicting MORE snow Wed and Thurs. NOT another repeat of 2006 PLEASE!

Must pack. My daughter keeps calling and asking me to pack stuff she left when she went to college in PA. No luck...I kinda got rid of anything she didn't take. Bad mom! We even gave her big bedroom to her brother. Figured we live in Washington state, she wanted ivy league school in PA. I could do what I wanted if I paid. doesn't work that way...

My husband, Mark is redoing her NEW room (something that he wasn't going to do yet - because it was to become my craft room) this weekend. painted last weekend, new laminate going down tday. Going to need to buy a mattress - got rid of hers cause it was really old, when she left. She arrives 1/5 after the cruise for a week. Then back for 2nd sem of college.

ugg..laundry, then pack

Sheila, thanks for posting that awesome list! My first project today is to label the FE gifts and you just made that job TONS easier! :banana: :worship:

Lisa Marie, thanks for catching my name for the ornament exchange!:worship:

I'm a day before packer, but this trip I'm starting today. DH usually does the packing because he's so much better at it. But with him working in Kansas now (and us living in Texas) I have to do the majority of the packing. He won't be home until around midnight the night before we leave at 9 a.m.

This week will fly by for all of us with packing, parties, school, work, closing up homes, etc. Good luck to everyone getting everything done!

This time next week we'll be anxiously awaiting boarding.
