Magic Your Way vs. Park Hopper

I'm sure this has been posted and debated many times but, tonight, for some reason, my connection to this site is way to slow to look for it. We're planning 8 days at FW in mid-July and plan on spending some of that time doing other things or little to nothing as possible at FW. We've been to WDW several times and don't feel the need to try to experience every single thing in a compressed time period vs. having a relaxing vacation. So, I'm torn between getting 8 days of Magic Your Way tix vs. tix with park hopper options (extra $$).

So, I have a few questions:

First, without a park hopper, can you enter a given park on a given day, leave, and then come back to that same park later that same day without having to use another ticket?

Second, if we do decide to, say, go to Magic Kingdom early one day and then Epcot that evening, can we just do that by using a set of tickets that may normally have been used a different day? In other words, with 8-day Magic Your Way tix, are we literally given 8 sets of 4 tickets that can actually be used any way we want them until they are gone? Or is there some control that forces you to choose a park on a given day and that's it?

Third (and this one is asked tongue-in-cheek), where did they come up with Magic Your Way as the base priced ticket level? If it was "MY WAY", it would be equivalent to a park-hopper and unused days would never expire.

The Magic Your Way tickets are one park each day. Yes you can return to that same park the same day but not to a different park.

Last Christmas we bought 7 day tickets with the park hopper and no expiration. We had researched the tickets and found that with the add ons the 7 day was the best value per day. We typically only go to 2 parks per trip so these tickets were an investment into future trips. Our tickets came on a card very similar to a room card, not individual, each card (we bought 4) has the 7 days on them. I cannot reply with any certainty about using one day in the AM and another at a different park later in the day, my understanding was that you couldnt, I may be wrong though. If you call FW and ask I am sure they will you in touch with guest services for the answer.

you may return to the same park on the sane day but not go to another park...your tickets will come on one card and can't be used for a different park as if it was a different day...
