I'm going back and forth on using this for our family of five. Last night a CM at WDWTravel told me that we would receive 1-Table Service, 1-Counter Service, 1-Snack per person for everyday that we are there...this is not quite true after reading the actual brochure in a PDF file. I questioned her specifically that it was for days there not nights there and she confirmed that for a 6 night/7day stay we would receive 7 "bank" days worth each of the aforementioned items.

The brochure however says you would receive only 6 per person....that's one less than I expected...okay, I figure let's go and do some more figuring. The downsides are FEW restaurants at Epcot take it...guess it's Rose Crown and Pub...only two other restaurants offer table service! Le Cellier and Coral Reef require 2 dinner coupons per person. So there goes my grand plan of trying Alfredo's or the French restaurant or Marrakesh, Nine Dragons, etc.

The upsides are most character meals are considered as a table meal...but really, 2 character meals and I'm wanting a relaxing dinner where I can just enjoy my meal without interruptions for pictures and autographs..or Goofy pulling my ponytail while I try to swallow some buffet. (Sorry, Goofy....love ya mean it!)

Another upside is I can use 2 dinner options and have a dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse that would normally cost us over $150....but with 3 kids having to only stick to the kids meal....are we really coming out ahead? OH! Clarification at counter service you do get meal + dessert + beverage and at table service you get 1 appetizer, 1 meal, 1 dessert and drink...but if my kids are all under nine they don't get appetizer do they? I've never seen a kids menu with an appetizer listed.

I would love to hear from families who have used this and know where they had breakfast....seems you're limited to Main Street Bakery and the resort fast food place...(without having a table service...I want to save those for dinners not breakfast) Anyone else going nuts over this?

Thanks!
Tara

I haven't used the plan yet, but will be this coming week.

However, from other posts by members who HAVE used the plan, I can tell you that IF the sit-down meal does not have an appetizer on the children's menu the child CAN order an appetizer off the adult menu. The same goes for children and dessert.

Personally, I think even if the kids are stuck to the kids menu, it's a great deal. Here's an example:

Kid's meal cost... $11.15 per day with tax...

Lunch at Cosmic Ray's
Mini Corn Dogs with choice of potato tots or carrots, applesauce and Child's beverage $3.99
Brownie (no sugar added) $2.49

Snack
1 bottle of water $2.00

Dinner
Crystal Palace Character Dinner Buffet $10.95

Total 19.43 not including tax or tip
Savings of $8.28

OR

A more expensive version

Casey's Corner for lunch
There is no child's menu so they order off the adult menu
Corn Dog Nuggets $3.59
Brownie - $1.79
Chocolate or Whole Milk - $1.99

Snack
1 Mickey bar $2.50

Dinner
Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary

Shrimp Cocktail with Cocktail Sauce $4.49
Grilled 6 oz. Top Sirloin with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Veggies - $10.99
Brownie Sundae $5.99
Soft Drink 1.99

Total 33.33 not including tax or tip
Savings of $22.18

**Corrected to fix snack quantity. **

You do know that this would count as 2 snacks for the one day, right?

Just wondering if you realized this ... :flower:

Just to clarify - the dining plan allots each person 1 counter service, 1 table service and 1 snack for each night of your stay. So if you had two adults and 2 children for 7 nights, you would have a total of 28 counter service meals, 28 counter service meals, and 28 snacks - all pooled, so you can use them however you want throughout your stay until they are used up. I was just commenting on the two snacks listed in the example of the typical one day savings for the plan. :earsgirl:

I don't know why I put 2 snacks in my post. :confused3 I think the packing and planning is making me nuts! I corrected my original post and adjusted the totals accordingly. :flower:

Sorry if I confused someone! :grouphug:

When I called for info on the dining package in mid-Jan. I was told it went by number of days.... then about a week ago when I booked my package - they said number of nights....I called Disney to clarify and was again told nights....I further told them that they should tell their customer service reps its nights not days becuase they are giving out wrong info....I was told that the reps are all familliar with the plan and she was sure no one had given me wrong info or even said days instead of nights at all....it appears from your post that there are some customer service people at Disney who are still getting it wrong!
