Magic Music Days

Our 2 dd's dance competition classes have been invited to dance at the Magic Kingdom on August 5th. The are given 20 to 30 minutes on the stage to do their thing! They also participate in a dance seminar on one of the days that they are in Disney. Just wanted to know if anyone else has ever participated in the Magic Music Days and what it entails. Any informaion will be appreciated. Thanks.

We just returned from Music Days with my son's high school band. It was a real thrill for the entire group. They were involved in a judged competition at a local community college, and were able to lead Spectro Magic last Saturday night. Their trip involved 3 nights, meal vouchers, Music Day t-shirts, Music Day pins, and mugs. Our school had been planning this trip for nearly 2 years, and it was worth it! It was a once in a lifetime event!

The marching band i belong to is going in Decmeber... we went back in 95 too... i hope it is just as fun... it was a great experence everyone had

My daughters dance class dance on stage in Tommorrowland 2 years ago and it was wonderful. The kids met at Pirates of the Caribbean and then a CM took them to a gate to go behind the scene and I got to go with them. There is a building back there where they can change and then we had to drive them back behind the Space Mountain where they waited to go out on stage and dance. After they danced they went back to the building to change again and then the man in charge of the music day came and talk to all of our girls and told them they did a wonderful job and gave them t-shirts and music day pins.

DD and her dance class did this at Disneyland last summer. It started with a parade down main street first thing in the morning. They then performed on two different stages in DCA later that afternoon & evening. They were pretty protective of the Disney image. They required a video of the routine in advance so they could check the choreography and suitablity of the music. Since the video we submitted was of a practice, they also wanted pictures of the actual costumes.

our high school music program is going to the world in about ten days (april 21) and we will be there for three nights. i think we sent in a videotape of our choir's christmas concert, and i don't know if we will be performing or not. i am under the impression that we will be participating in clinics and performing if we are good? still not sure. i really would like to perform, i'm really excited. is anyone else going over spring break? love to see ya there. look for a "soprano" tee shirt!

Jeffemy-The school that was involved in the accident was Edgewood High School, and we are from Havre de Grace. Luckily, the injuries were mostly minor. The Edgewood kids continued on with their plans, competing in the Magical Musical Days, and then performing in Epcot. Ironically, our trip and their trip were the only two trips not cancelled by our county school boards. All others to DC, Phila, and NYC were cancelled immediately.

I'm gald to hear all kids were ok, but what a scare it must have been! At least they were able to continue with their trip and enjoy themselves! I know a lot of schools have cancelled trips, my own DD's trip to Philadelphia has been cancelled.
