Magic Kingdom opening hours extended for selected dates in June

I just cancelled a BOG reservation for June 8th at 8:10 AM fora party of four if anyone wants to try and pick it up. I would guess that a lot of breakfast ADRs will be opening up on these days.

So anyone know... if we wanted to keep our 8:05a BOG ressie... how early should we show up and how early can we expect to be let in?
Orrrr... since they sometimes let everyone in 15 mins early... does that mean we'd be fighting to get to our breakfast?

I know I shouldn't complain but I don't know if we can get there that early and I really wanted to see the welcome show....both of our planned rope drop days are opening at 8.

Hoping for some extended Sept. hours. 9-9 is the longest day. One closing at 8 and two 7's due to parties.

It's a shame that Disney is putting off these decisions until the last moment, considering they want us to book FP 30-60 days out. Especially for a company that built its reputation on its customer service.

What does the park opening an hour earlier have to do with booking your fast passes? It doesn't impact your fast passes at all. It's giving you more park time.

I am hoping they extend Epcot hours passed 9 PM too. It seems weird to me that Epcot closes so early.

Don't expect that. Epcot always closes at 9 PM Except for Friday and Saturdays during Food & Wine and select dates around the Christmas holidays. Always been this way

Is it me or does it seem Disney can't win isn't this a good thing? Extra hour for everybody who wants it. No expensive lanyard or resort stay needed.. Floats my boat!

I agree it makes it so our plans are useless. Even though it doesnt really mess up FP's but pre park dining it does. This year I don't know what to plan on anymore. I feel like Disney is being run by all new people that do not know what they are doing:rotfl:

Nope, not just you, I've thought the same thing for a long time, I heard the exact same arguments in Dec 2014 when they changed the opening hours for MK a week before we went.:confused3 I told the DW, Disneyworld, the only place I know that people complain for being able to stay in a theme park LONGER. :lmao:We had a 8:15 Crystal Palace breakfast ADR and they changed the park opening to 8am, WOW, didn't mess up our day at all, when we were finished with breakfast, we just didn't have to wait for RD at any of the lands. I guess it just depends on how you want to roll with the punches.:thumbsup2

Sure it's great for some, but it will not float your boat if you have booked a PPO ADR on one of these dates. These people will now have to cancel. ADRs like this are planned months in advance, and some people only have one day in the MK. This park is also super crowded in the summer months, and they often begin letting guests in the park 15 minutes early. If you decide to eat breakfast at 8am, you will be waiting in longer lines.

This impacts one of our MK days. I had made a PPO ADR at Crystal Palace so we could get a jump on Adventureland and Frontierland. We still plan on going to CP because it's one of our favorite breakfasts. My concern is the crowds at the gate and getting to our ADR on time. My plan is to be at the bus stop around 6:30am and, weather permitting, go bag free so we can skip the bag check line. Would that time be early enough coming from AKL?

ETA - We drive to WDW. Would a better plan be to leave AKL around 6:15-6:30am, valet park at the CR then walk to MK? Our ADR is at 8:05am.

Thank you for explanation and other point of view. Why would a guest need to cancel an ADR if the park opened early? I must be missing something here... It is true I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer... Do the restaurants change their hours?

How does the park opening an hour earlier "make all of your plans useless?" You are agreeing with someone that is upset because of fast pass reservations being made 30-60 days out, but how does that effect anything at all? The fast passes don't change a bit. If you want to take advantage of the extra hour of park time, you can, if you don't want to get there an hour earlier, you don't have to. It doesn't change a thing. If you had PPO ADR, it is made clear that what that guarantees for you is breakfast. If that is the case, there now may be more people in the park, but it won't be super-crowded because in that first hour it never is. And Disney changes their hours all the time. On our last trip, they were adding hours at the end of the day IN THE MORNING OF THE SAME DAY. So, you may want to consider that as a possibility as well.

Honestly, there are threads with people complaining ad nauseum about how the parks are open for less and less hours and bilking guests out of more and more money for less time. They extend the hours and people complain again.

I think I would try to book a later breakfast so you can take advantage of the low wait times in the morning. If there are any reservations available that is.
