Magic Kingdom No Longer Dry Park Will Serve Wine Beer

Either open it up in the MK or don't. That's my comment. Limiting it inside one restuarant (I just heard about it so this MAY not be totally true.) is ridiculous.

Server or don't serve, but don't be pretentious about it by trying to seclude it inside one stupid building when it's all over property everywhere else anyway. They're acting like children sneaking cigarettes behind the dumpster.

Kids are all over all the parks. You broke the shell. Live with the decision, and let adults be adults, and trust them to do so just like you do at the other 3 major gates.

It's on the official WDW website in the restaurant description and they have a wine list posted... it's true.

Finally! :thumbsup2
I used to skip TS places at MK because if I pay that much, I want to order wine with my meal.
However, why only one place? If they sell it in one place, MK is not dry anymore, so can they make up their minds, here or there, either sell or don't.

Where else would you want a drink in MK though? Only other place I see being worthwhile would be in the castle for dinner - and that's IF they step up the cuisine. Tony's is awful for italian and not wine-worthy... maybe beer would make it better...

For now. No one else seeing just the tip of the iceberg here? How much longer before the other TS restaurants start offering the same. Bet you'll see that soon.

Probably by 2015 at the latest. Beer and wine only at dinner. Only at TS restaurants. And no take away option so people won't be roaming the park with a beer. How and why is this wrong? Once the board room sees the uptic in per person spending at BoG as compared to LTT, you can bet that the other TS restaurants will follow suit. And they should. Are people really that concerned about the consumption of beverages at dinner that have an alcohol level of 5%-14%? Some of you act as if this is going to turn guests into sailors on leave. Grow up.

I don't think offering a beer or wine during dinner, but not allowing guests to take them out of the restaurant, is going to result in much drunkeness.
I imagine that they felt if they were going to offer a french dining option, they should at least offer a glass of wine...

I dunno, I'm a little disappointed, but not overly upset by this decision.

There beer list is very short, though. I guess they are trying to stick with the theme and doing old-world beer.

Sad to hear the news. Enen though we used to joke that the cocktail during lunch at Club 33 was the reason my parents got through the whole day at DL.

Walt loved a stiff drink and a smoke, and he was also a businessman. I don't think he would be rolling over at all. :goodvibes

I agree.

And hey after a long day in the park dealing with crowds and crabby kids and adults sometimes you need a drink. I know I do and I rarely drink at home.

To be honest, I don't really care. I don't drink and don't mind when others do. That being said, many devout Disney fans will be extremely upset about this...

I'm in the "good" for them being upset category.

They're the same people who ranted and raved that Enchanted Tales with Belle excluding adults almost entirely was a good thing because the parks offer different experiences for different age groups and not everything needed to be for everyone.

Well, not everything is for everyone. Hooray! pixiedust:

How is it any different that Club 33? It's still only one restaurant serving beer and wine and only during dinner.

Oh, I think it is VERY different.

Club 33 is a private restaurant that you must either be a member or know a member in order to dine there. It is NOT a usual restaurant at which any guest can simply make an ADR or drop by. It is very different.

For now. No one else seeing just the tip of the iceberg here? How much longer before the other TS restaurants start offering the same. Bet you'll see that soon. And IIRC, Club 33 was not accessible to the general public. Or has that changed?
No, it has not changed. :goodvibes

I consider myself a bit of a "Disney purist" but even I don't actually care about this. I don't see why MK is any different to every other park, even Disneyland has Club 33 ;)

I don't see what the big deal is. When Walt implemented the "dry policy", drinking was something different than it is today. I'd be willing to bet that if Walt were alive in 2012, he may have a change of heart on it even. There's no reason why adults can't have a glass of wine or beer and enjoy their vacation also.

I would like them to sell it everywhere like in other parks. If they went against Walt wishes already, just do it all the way. There is no such thing as a little bit pregnant and there is no such thing as almost dry park.

Walt will roll over in his grave.......

I was just going to say that the high pitched squeal you hear is Walt, spinning in his grave. LOL

I just hope they don't try this at Disneyland. Of course, with DL, you can walk 5 to 10 minutes and be at DCA or Downtown Disney or hop the monorail from inside the park to DD and get alcohol. It's a bit more challenging to leave MK - the closest would be to walk or monorail to one of the close resorts, but it's still a trek to get to the monorail.
